I want her to be my grand mother so that she can sing for me evreyday, I truly wish that. It feels like I want to change everything after hearing this song. I love her in the real meaning of love deep in my heart.
My heart can no longer contain the happiness and thrill that I felt after listening to this version. I want to be her grandson even in my dreams and ask her to sing for me everyday. Words will never be enough to express how i feel towards this rendition and how she delivers it. I truly love her.
I am speechless on how she can raise her voice so high and lower it the way she dose with ease the greatest Jazz voice ever IMO, it brings a tear to my eye everytime i hear her version of My Funny Valentine.
She had so much voice that it was almost unfair and a rare intelligence about music that enabled her to try things that no one else would even attempt and get away with it, magnificently. She makes the "American Idol" type singers seem like amateur screamers, possibly because she was a fine pianist and really know her chords.
Back in 88 I was going through my late uncle's record collection. I came across a Sarah Vaughan album. I'd never heard of her before. They way she sung My funny valentine was fantastic. She was an instant hit with me. I was 22.

This is the classic jazz standard. If you can't do this - you can't sing jazz. So glad this is here to enjoy

This is from Sarah's finest album, a"live" recording in Tokyo, and this is one of the many outstanding vocal performances
