hmmm parody... not sure if I personally would consider it this song as parody.
I think he's pointing out some conradictions here... but I have the feeling he also sees something positive in what is called "being divine". In this sense he might see this topic from both negative and positive side. Tobias definately has kept himself busy and put a lot of thought about religion and christianity, and being human in general. the lyrics are one reason why I love his songs C:
In all fairness, you can look up the song Rob Rock - Move on, in that piece Sammet is a guest, and as Rob Rock is a Christian metal icon I kind of doubt it that the two would do guest appearances for each other if their beliefs differed SO much.
I consider Sammet a theist, but he's far too proud and intelligent to serve the Catholic church.
@jcgastelum1991 I'm still confused as to how does all this affect Sammet's personal life. I had doubts since I saw the Freemasons' logo on the cover of his 2nd Avantasia metal opera album. He's a mystery and there is practically no sources to explain anything, since he doesn't reply to the fanmail.
Tobias said in an interview that he isn't a religious guy, even though in many of their songs he uses some possible referances--but no its not Christian Metal
greatest song they ever mad \m/

Brilliant song. I have to say that I think this is my favourite Edguy album; I've listened to it countless times and am still not tired of it :)
Also, I really can't help but hear Bruce Dickinson for one line at 3:15. It's like Tobias suddenly transforms for a few seconds. ^.^

it's not really a parody of religion, he's just saying God has a sense of humor.

It's really not anti-religious. It's just about Tobias Sammet's personal belief that God has one hell of a sense of humor.

@Edgemaster9790 This is the truth, not that he's parodying.
In all fairness, you can look up the song Rob Rock - Move on, in that piece Sammet is a guest, and as Rob Rock is a Christian metal icon I kind of doubt it that the two would do guest appearances for each other if their beliefs differed SO much.

@SexRobotOfDoom exactly...same point I wanted to make, Sammet is a believer to some extent, he just hates organized religion.
