  • Well, let's see how it turns out. The pistons in this engine don't move at anything like maximum speed all the time. That's clear from the principles of its operation. Additionally, we don't know what kind of torque and rpm this engine is designed to run at. That would make or break your self-destruct-via-centrifugal-force hypothesis.

  • swing-piston engines have been around since the 1820s.

in a standard piston engine, forces are applied linearly down the connecting rod, along the same axis as the cylinder. even so, because the connecting rod is at a slight angle to the load, one side of the cylinder wall will wear faster.

in this engine, because the combustion chamber is "bent" or in the shape of an arc, the pistons are perpetually forced into the outer wall by both the force of combustion, and centrifugal force of momentum.

  • Oh, and I guess Morgado's engine blew up at the demos that got him first prize? Ah, yes, but now you're going to say that was some kind of political conspiracy, most especially since you don't think anyone is ever guilty of any kind of conspiracy since the end of the Roman empire? Human nature is suddenly different now, eh? Get real!

  • If you don't think the powers that be are capable of threats and much worse, then ask yourself why they're so quick to let thousands of youthful lives be destroyed by injuries and death for oil and then ask yourself again why they would hesitate to nix only one challenger to their financial dominion. Or maybe you don't ever think why as a nation we allow all sorts of horrible genocide, etc. to take place while doing nothing. Then we get all excited about promoting "democracy" in oil rich areas.

  • There is no conspiracy. Lose the tinfoil hats. Like the Moller Skycar - they are both inherently flawed and always looking for "investors". If this MYT is as awesome as people claim it is, it doesn't take 10 million dollars drummed up from roadshows. It takes building a small machine shop and farming out units to other small companies and making a name on proven deliverables - THEN the money will come. Sell zero-point energy instead. You'll get more people that want to "believe"...sigh..

  • CARROTS AND PINATAS. If & When Morgado fails my engines are just as good. Or, when they find out the planet has a shortage of the HIGH GRADE ORE his pump~engine rpm's require, whichever comes first. But you should'nt be too fast to discount the Mighty Engine becasue the fuel passing through it is also the Coolant and the Lubricant.

  • I don't have time to read everyone's rants and conspiracy theories and "fake lolz", but here's the reason why the Mighty Engine doesn't work: as the pistons spin faster, there is exponential wear on the outside wall of the cylinder. seizes up too quickly at high RPM. they may have built a few prototypes at some point - but that's what would have stopped the project if anything. thumbs up for education.

  • @purplewtruck What are you guessing, or do you have facts to back-up what you're saying? Here's a fact for ya, those oil & auto company lobbyists would make sure this damn thing doesn't go anywhere in about 5 minutes. They're the ones that fill the campaign coffers in Washington, and what they say goes.

  • @HemiHead66 oh, is that a fact? 5 minutes? exactly? and what lobbyists exactly? I need names, and what they've done. oh wait, you don't have that? because you just made that all up? why do these "lobbyists" love oil? because it gives them money. so here's the situation; you have millions of people invested in oil, so that each person gets a small slice of the pie. OR, you can be the main investor into a technology like this, that if it worked out, make you far richer than investing in oil.

  • @HemiHead66 there's no reason why a technology like this wouldn't work out. there are no lobbyists stopping this. there is just a poor design. there is a mechanical roadblock. how do I know this? because I'm a mechanical engineer, and one of the jobs I had, another team was building a similar design. it's an inherit flaw. think about it; as it goes quicker, those pistons want to fly outwards. it fails after a few seconds of operation.

  • @purplewtruck You're a mechanical engineer and you think centrifugal force is going to make this thing go up in smoke in seconds? I think you either aren't a mechanical engineer at all or you're a cookbook engineer with no practical sense of physical realities. If you don't think technologies don't get suppressed by big oil, you live in a cave. I'm personally aware of people who have had to "cease and desist" with all kinds of threats to family and olive and limb.

  • @MrRobert144 Oops! meant "life and limb" at the end.

  • They're saying that that tiny single-lobe crankshaft is going to stand 850bhp going through it? I am betting that's why we haven't seen it, weight tends to be proportionate to lifespan.

  • THE MYT ENGINE, THE WATER POWERD CAR, THE 8000 MPG CAR ALL NOBEL PRIZE WINNING INVENTIONS FOR THEIR MAKERS.. BUT AMERICA PREVAILED AND WE ALL STILL CARRY THE SAME OLD CRAP PEDDLED BY THEM SO UNABASHEDLY LIKE THESE THINGS NEVER EXIST. WAT AMERICA NEEDS IS ITS OWN VERSION OF THE JASMINE REVOLUTION TO GET RID OF THE OIL MAFIA'S

  • get so tired of these great revolutionary inventions that could practically save the world then you never see them again. WTF!! WHERE IS IT!!!

  • It'll be mothballed before ya know it. The oil companies would shit-bricks if their profits were halved.

  • ... if I somehow, came up with- w/o anyone elses' help- some vonderengine... I'd just put it in my car and fugg everyone else... and simply drive cheap 4 the rest of my driving days... This worlds' lucre isn't worth the troubles that'd come 4 it.

  • they can make a ground breaking engine but cant figure out the filmography technology. the quality of that video almost ruined the point of hte whole thing.

  • Have been hearing about all this incredible technology for years I've yet to see a working product you can buy. Someone just isn't able to turn their incredible claims into reality. Something weird is going on; people might be exaggerating their claims.

  • all this swearing , people want somthing for nothing .. and are in a hurry for it..

  • Within the toroidal cylinder are two moving rings to which are attached the pistons, so the piston rings have to cross over these gaps, plus the moving rings have to be sealed from the crank case. this video is long on claims and short on a working prototype.

  • Look up swing-piston engine on Wikipedia. This idea has been around for a long time. Others have tried to bring it to production, but never got beyond prototypes. There are good reasons why it never went any further. Patents were not bought up by big corporations in order to bury the ideas. The inventors simply abandoned them - often after attracting a substantial amount of private investment capital. This type of inventors failure is VERY common today. I've seen it in my own neighborhood.

  • Hey Raphial, why don't you shoot Dean Kaman an email and find out how he can help.

  • I saw a myt engine video in 07, and still not a damn thing in the media or on the market. Did you see the list of attendee companies at the NASA contest. No one noticed the winner and moved on it? Something is rotten in Denmark.

Its 2010 and no marketable evidence, you should work for GM. I had very high hope for this. Either its a lie, its a half truth, or its owned by someone who will NEVER allow it to make it to market.

  • Please post a video of the Oregon SAE meeting on YouTube. Very excited to see the lecture.

  • @marktacchi According to the angel web site, the event was "cancelled". hmm. The fishy gets fishier.

  • i love the concept

  • The economic powers that be want nothing to change unless they do the changing.

  • If you can get seals that work, maybe it will work, if not its another wankel,,,interesting but not practical.

Have a think abnout all the sealing surfaces that are moving,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • @donald195

the problem is everybody wants 51% of the company or more.

which means they could cut this guy out of his work in a snap of the finger. sorry i wouldn't give up something i invented for nothing.

  • Do I get a Sham wow if I order now.

  • If this is real, the inventor will end up dead.

  • holy crap , that blows my mind

  • You SOB's can't even spell or write a structured sentence and then expect people to think your posts are BRILLIANT!

  • Until i don't see this engine inside a any vehicle, these are only words in the winds...

I can't understand why the engine is still as a prototype step. I wanna to see the demo working with fuel and not with air...

  • and you not going to see it ask the government why than you will get kill

  • because the engine is too efficient man. its about money. its too powerful too efficient and too affordable.

  • What kind of reply is this??

Above all because the motor is light and efficient it should be putted inside any kind of vehicles, especially for the aircraft where the power to light ratio is all. Is too simple speak about conspirancy when the motor is still used only as demo (with air...). This means which something doesn't work. I repeat: I wanna see facts !

  • @hrop7 myt engine dyno run (high quality video) running WFO on fuel

  • the big three would only be intersted if they could just take his design for free like the intermintent wiper system but wait they payed for that in spades what eats up the big three is 73 $ a hour total production fee. detroit can't swalow thier own greed pills or are just too pigheaded to accept "they have been out motored in the mental engineering game lets face it the townand country radio sold only so many fords big3 show me better even than this i feel yor poop.

  • the german su wankel was great however it poluted faster that a dozen cat converters could clean it up

  • calling BS on efficiency

  • i reckon they get stopped by the oil industries and the big car manufactorers.

They would simoly lose there monopolies

  • this thing would burn oil faster than gas... unless they use some form of diesel with the lubricant mixed n.

maybe submerge the whole thing in coolant

  • you are right. In one of his other videos he states it is designed to run optimally on diesel or biodiesel.

  • 800 horsepowers, at the typical efficiency of 35 %, means 1600 hp (960 kW) of heat ...

==> not too easy to cool

The big RPM also give higher material-abuse ...

The bigger engines usually are that big in order to withstand their own power-parameters ...

  • he said 60% efficiency

  • Have been hearing about all this incredible technology for years I've yet to see a working product you can buy. Someone is suppressing all this stuff, it can't all be bullshit. Lot of inventors just about to start mass producing their gimzos and then you never hear of them again................something weird going on.

  • It just made some news this past week. You would think venture capital firms would be all over this, especially now. pesn . com /2009/09/11/9501572_Angel_Labs_gets_angels/

  • the big companies are all great and the little guy (nomatter how briliant) is crap a math constant i think. sheit=0 lol

  • @zubree these contests are run and institutes and claim to support such technology are run simply to bring these inventions to light to be suppressed stolen for military use or the inventors threatened into silence and work destroyed. It's been happening for ages most technologies presented do work the leaders of the world are simply warmongers and propoganda whores that fly the flag to create conflicts for the war industry to make bank on

  • @zubree Something that makes more money swallows them. This has been happening for centuries.

  • @xenoah seriously, show me the specific fuel consumption and durability test results. high power to weight usually means high fuel consumption and short working life. A Hyabusa motorcycle engine can make 300 horses, but you don't see them powering trucks. Power to weight is damn all when you are talking about heavy traction applications.

  • @zubree The "inventor"'s name is Morgado right? OK, so there was a Sorceress named MORGANA. It's a scamscamscam don't fall for it man BE SMART.

  • @zubree some inventors "happen to disappear"

  • @zubree its the government... imagine if they sold this... no more frequent gas visits prob no more electricity cuz u can prob turn into a generator... and that means less money for the government and theyre rich buddies

  • @zubree

If it interests you, the engine is already for sale as part of a generator-set. It is optimized for bio-diesel as fuel, wich also contains the lubricant, and all the models up to 145 kW (almost 200HP) are air-cooled. And they are only 6 by 6 inches!

I'm not sure weather you could contact angellabs and buy a straight engine, but you can try.

  • Hav e a read up about this bloke- Roger Shawyer. Interesting shit!

  • It just seems we're making old technology better. Mutton dressed as lamb if you like.

Did anybody read- is this the end of wings and wheels in new scientist?

Why would the geezers boss not want him to carry on work on his project if it had such far reaching potential?

    Whats happened to it now?

  • we easily accepted the jet airchraft ,on acounta in the day we had to. ( i still

like the mustang ,and tbolt thou. now the big three think ."if it wasn't my idea screw it"

  • torque multiplied by rpm devided by 5252,

    this thing makes crappy horsepower.

  • This concept has been tried in the past ;look up Kuertz engine,Bradshaw engine etc. Charles Bancroft has same design dating back to early 1930s . Like someone who wrote earlier said, the engine is called the "Cat and Mouse " engine,or the " Scissors action" engine. The prototypes that actually ran as combustion engine never lasted more than minutes due to the stress caused by the stop and go actions. Later design sort to overcome the shock in the crank by employing elliptical gearing.

  • THERE R SUM FOOLZ IN THIS WORLD !

  • I could see how it works. It should provide little to no engine vibration and compared to the average stock "high performance" engines of about 8 - 10 : 1 compression ratio, it should have some hellishous torque. I'd love to get away from burning any kind of fuel in automobiles and other transportation, but if that isn't feasible, I'd love to see this engine become the standard for future transportation

  • This video demonstrates the power of persuasion computer graphics offer. Unfortunately, this design does not work. This inventor wants $10,000,000 to got into production, then he would sell it to the military. I heard him say this.

  • "Unfortunately this design does not work"

I hate asinine statements like this.

Don't just proclaim something like this. Give a reference or a link, or some evidence of some kind.

Otherwise you are just expecting people to simply believe your statement based on nothing other than the fact that you said "it doesn't work".

If it doesn't work, tell us how you know that.

    Otherwise the comment is useless.

  • I know. You're right It hurts to think an invention that will help us does not work. And I wish I could find the personal email that explains how this design will not properly lubricate. All I know is I listen to freeenergynow and waterfuel museum podcasts. Each week someone gets on there who has found a hidden energy source in gravity, or will finally get 100 mpg, always. No follow up. Never hear them again.

My last post was mostly to myself. Thanx

    Heard this guy on freeenergynow

  • Wow really no real questions from youtubers. How about lets see it in a big rig lick it claims. Or maybe put it on a friggin' bike!! Something please!! NOW!!

  • wasillabushcaddy- There were many attempts to build a flying machine before the design and thrust issues were overcome. Many tried designs of same likeness have not worked because something was missing in the overall design and engineering. I am no expert, yet I do not give up so easily on the possibility of success with this engine. Edison tried 2000 times before the right design was found for the lightbulb. Your the type that would have quit after the first trial failure. NASA was impressed!

  • ...I designed an engine just like this in my spanish notebook a couple days ago..

  • NO, it's not a wankel, not even close. I don't know why the comment was made about it being akin to the wankel because it over heats? Any and ALL engines over heat without proper cooling! IDIOT...

  • It's also known as a "Cat and Mouse" engine. Designs date back to 1925 or so. It's total BS and it runs on "Snake Oil" it will never make it to production..."Cause it don't work"! I'll give you it looks really cool and if you buy the BS sounds good. Mr. Morgado don't take someone else's crap invention and say that you invented it. You loose all credibility from the start.

  • This was designed in world war two by the german Otto Lutz. Raphial Morgado did not invent it.

  • Hmmmm...I guress I'd be more impressed with a demonstration of the world's first 500 mph Cessna 172 at an airshow rather than a bunch of 3-D CAD/CAM drawings and theoretical specs. Anyone know which airshow will be doing that high-speed 172 fly-by in the next year or two?

  • I've seen several vid's of this engine and i can see the benifits but i think it has a lot of hurdles to overcome. I've yet to see it run on fuel instead of compressed air. It looks like they'll have a very tuff time with the cooling issues generated by 32 pulses in a small area. There's also the issue of the crank being able to handle that much torque, when they actually put a load on it. It would be interesting to see how it handles in a vehicle test.

  • "Mighty engine"... Another TV-shop product. If it wasn't crap, they would give it a name instead of superlative.

  • Angel Labs LLC just received $10mil to begin production. This design was reviewed (in depth) by a panel of scientists and engineers from NASA, pie in the sky doesn't win their world wide Create the Future contest. I thought it would be more helpful to spread the word until the politicians have to yield to the pressure and pull out the checkbook, it takes many more millions to get this engine on the road. Raphael can't do it alone. This is NOT a Wankel, = no leaky apex seals. Congrats RM!

  • True this is not a Wankel but you know nothing about the sealing of this engine. Almost every manufacturer saw the potential of the wankel much like this engine and the engineers saw no issues until they built them then no one could solve the Apex seal issue until Mazda came along. So until there is an engine running under load on fuel you can not say for sure that this engine will or will not have sealing issues. With that said good luck on the developement it would be nice if it works.

  • The design looks cool but Morgado couldn't be a more suspicious character. If his engine works as he says, then he should be showing it running under the hood of a test vehicle and showing the performance results rather than running it on compressed air and making all kinds of pie-in-the-sky claims.

  • This is not a Wankel in any way shape or form.

I have worked on Wankel engines and have owned them since 1973. The RX3 motor is still running and strong. The 80 RX7 was replaced at 150,000miles.

in the early 90s and is still running very strong. They have never and I reiterate Never over heated or got close and I drive them hard on mountain roads and some city. I also owned a concept 1969 Chevrolette Areovette, one of the only ones of its kind, with a Wankel and man was that thing fast.

  • Domo Arigato, Mr. Morgado>

  • the Kauertz engine used vane pistons

  • Fascinating! "There IS NO ENERGY CRISIS. Only a crisis of IGNORANCE"- R. Buckminster Fuller

  • put one 3 of these in a drag car lol 1/4 mile in like 0.5 seconds

  • God bless you

  • wow well done to the bloke.

but if he made it in 2005 and won a world wide contest with it then why have i only just hear/seen it? You think the press would have been all over this, as well as the major companies

  • I like it ,, however Angel Labs havent posted a new since april 06 .. slow goings angel labs ??

  • pardon "havent posted any news"

  • So where do we buy one of these?

  • It is hard to criticize this 8 minute video.

Looks like a real story to me, yet

    based on simple thermodynamics.

A breakthrough internal combustion engine design.

Would be doing all the same old things, however,

would be doing then more efficiently, and might

make new things possible with lighter engines.

  • i had a similar idea :D glad i don't have to do that calculus to make one. With hose dimensions and output we should see some interesting vehicle designs once its adopted.

  • i hope it works, but i cant see an engine of that size with such light weight parts handling those kind of power figures. the first sign of detonation or knock, will pull that engine apart

  • Well, there you have it ladies and gentleman. "isamike" has the answer to this. He says it will fail. No need to watch the video or look into this. Nor should the US Army.

Thanks ''isamike,'' for sharing your whit and complex engineering analysis. I'm just wondering, can you ''see'' cars running on a different engine, although the I4s and V6s out there are just so great after 140 years, but anything better coming in the future, or no?

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, "LLCoolPass" obviously knows how this engine will work, he has obviously seen the engine running on,petrol,LPG,Diesel,Biodiesel.ive been following the MYT engine for a number of years, and never once have i seen this "million dollar baby" running on anything but compressed air.Like I said, I hope it works, and I know LLCoolPass, being the engineering mastermind that he is, will post a video of the 500BHP MYT Engine that is the size of a passenger cars alternator!!

  • i see an problem in this desigen some parts stop9OR GETTING verry slow. so you cant take 100% out of the petrol. he is maybe smart but did he think of that problem you must the engine ceep moving and not stop thats the problems of the engines of this day.

    greetings

  • 32 ignition strokes per revolution? nice design, but theres no way you can keep something like that cool enough to operate efficiently.

and my guess is it will take either a different design, or very expensive materials.

getting closer to utopia, but not there yet!

  • i can't wait any longer

  • gnarlyy

  • ill believe it when they build one

  • It *is* a Kauertz engine - which also has its roots in scissor engines dating back to before 1910. Maybe these guys will actually make one that doesn't grind itself into pieces.

  • this sounds to good to be true, you see, its basicly a piston form of a jet engine. not to mention i dont think i have seen a combustable working one yet. it would be nice to see, but i think the claims are a little far fectched.

  • Whatever happened to this technology? I have searched the internet without finding any information more recent than 2006!!! I tried to reach Ralph by email, without success??... Has this technology been vaporized? WHAT HAPPENED??????

  • I know!

It's not even like the oil companies have bought it and buried it (like they do/did with other alternative fuel solutions). The MYT engine would actually prolong the life of the oil companies.

    WHAT IS GOING ON?!

  • Looks like a German "Kauertz" motor from the 50s to me! Mercedes Benz tried it - didn't work well. Nothing new here, but very well executed and pretty shiny looking. It will fall apart if you ignite the fuel though. Fragile is right on! Hard to find info on the original Dr. Kauertz that invented it.

  • Where is it now? I can't find anything new about it! Did the oil company already buy them out to stop it from evolving in to something useful?

  • Isn't it about time we saw a real one producing measurable power on a dyno? Fuel consumption figures and cooling problems would be interesting.

  • Hi mr morgado my name is jose and i need to know how can i get your invent because i want to see the development of the engine working with hydrogen ?

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • Hell, tey said in runs on vegie oil! This is brillaint! Buy Rapial a good beer!

  • I'd love to put the power of a diesel truck into a motorcycle, it would reach 0-60 in like a quarter of a second lol XD.

  • My rotary engine is better.

  • why the FUCK am i not driving a car with this in it?!

  • Same question!

  • he explained it in another vid... in a car the motor would be the size of a coffee can producing 200-500whp and as for a plane well its not hard to build tanks that supply the engine with air

  • Looking forward to your IPO

  • Yes. Get this thing to market ASAP. My guess is they're trying to secure a deal with automakers, etc., but START SELLING CRATE MOTORS ALREADY! Get these things into the hands of consumers, then Big Auto will wise up...

  • I love this ENGINE! V8 was a classic!

GM! Audi! NISSAN!!! I WANT A MORGADO ENGINE IN MY CAR!!!!!

800 HP from the size of a 90 HP rotary!

    D@mmm i love it!

  • Bolt it on to a 50kva aternator under full load record that, then post another video....I just want to see it WORKING UNDER LOAD(LOTS OF IT).

  • Your design is so wonderfully simple it will have to take over! Period.

  • I won't feel like the government or the 2 parties are doing anything about our energy problems until I see a vehicle with something like this powering it. Progress has been stopped up by all that money the oil companies make and compliant politicians.

  • Just right for the kind of Engine I've been looking for my Flaying Car Design as it can be air-cooled and hydrogen atomic fueled.

  • Mr. Morgado,

I wish I could have your Mighty Engine for my Flying Car Design. Hope we can work out some kind of partnership arrangement. We'll be using on-board water to hydrogen atomic fuel for this. Please respond.

  • WOW! I would love to see one of these running in some kind of vehicle.

  • the combustion will cause an equal force in the opposite direction and there's no way it has the strength to handle that. it also has major sealing issues. as innovative as it is i don't think it will stand up to the test when it is finally run on fuel. the only demo is with compressed air and its a bit rich to claim such optimistic stats

  • how about applications in space?

  • Great video! Very educational. I just hope that the members of government stop being so greedy, and learn that we need to take control of our global warming problem! There are solutions out there, this shows one possible of many. If I could have just one wish, it would be to make all the ppl in oil companies find an alternative to make their greedy pockets grow! the government and auto makers are also to blame. HYBRID ENGINES WTF IS THAT!!!! stop being stupid and get over oil!
