Have you ever been bitten in the crotch by a goose through approaching them when they're angry like that? It's not very pleasant, especially if they grab one of the ol' pair.... :S
Er, this is the UK, using a baseball bat on a wild animal results in a large fine or a prison sentence, and using a shotgun in a public place is an automatic prison sentence....
Geese aren't evil. They're just good at taking care of themselves in a world full of foxes and other predators including humans that like a goose dinner. Besides they make great "watch dogs" around farms.
Seriously though if they come approach at you, just get yourself into the kicking motion and they'll step away from you. Try it. It doesn't hurt or cost anything. Running away from it will just keep them charging at you.

Yep, that's why I gave that one a wide berth, almost treading in some dog business (which should have been cleaned up by the owner!!!), but still got hissed at!!! If I had my own way, that goose would have become a sunday roast!!! :P

lol! Ya, it seemed like he was guarding some scat. I really hate how geese are very territorial.Even if you are what, 20 ft away, they start hissing.
