  • ran 12.53 on a stock 83 kz 750 in 85 (with pipe NOT jetted / 20K miles) I know guys dig a v twin sound-but harley guys are missing out on alot of power! Maybie sell that Buell for a 600 sport bike-10's!!

  • His bracket time on the Busa was set at 10.95 and he ran an 11.12 that is a slow ass Busa...I would say it is far from a Busa...IEen an average rider could run a mid to high ten second run.

  • I was at the track the other night and saw a guy on a R6 beat a guy on a Busa in a heads up race. Obviously the driver on the Busa was a newbie.

  • Wow didnt think the buell would

    Stand a chance

  • pepsi wins

  • TO ALL: this is probably a high-altitude track. Times suck on everything b/c of loss of air. or they just really suck. LOL

  • They pulled the plug on Buell just when they started the transition from stunt bike to race bike.

  • You've got Buell balls!

  • 1125r runs low to mid 10's busa is low 10's high 9's buell is american made busas arent why cant everyone quite argueing and enjoy riding does it matter who is faster yea going fast is great but if yuh have a faster bike good for yuh don't hate on people with slower bikes at least they are enjoying riding.

  • @trc5494 Smartest thing I've read so far.

  • standard features on a new busa: training wheels, and welded front fork who needs to turn when you have that much power. lmfao

  • @redfordfocussvt The new busa is much more of a turning bike than the old ones. It might not win superbike, but if someone know how to ride they'll hold their own in the corners.

  • first of all, what kind of buell is it? an second of all, ever get tired of these cocksucking haters that haven't even riddin on a buell? my dad has a1200, pretty badass, that can smoke any japnike stoplight to stoplight. none of these people have even sat on one and they are hating on the buells. the new motor is balanced and can KILL any japbike you throw at it. GET OFF OF SUZUKI'S KAWASAKI'S AND YAMAHA'S COCK YOU ASSHOLES!!

  • you can get a stock busa to run 9.80's and lower you nuts. That's why they are the fastest production bike. Anytime you do work to a bike, it's in a different class altogether. There isn't a stock Buell that can touch a stock Busa, period. I don't care if it's stop light to stop light, or across a damn mall parking lot. I've raced every bike I've seen. Some looked at me like I was nuts and didn't even run me, some actually raced me and got spanked. My K9 Busa eats a Buell anyday!!!

  • dude running 11.1 on a Busa is very sub standard riding, by the way. He should be ashamed

  • @ohioguyshakes theres a guy here on youtube that gets his 1125r to 10.05 and lower and its hardly modded or not at all- some pps on busa do 10.+ so...

  • @ohioguyshakes Little But Quick now has a record on his 1125r it goes 9.44 in a 1/4 with just a ecm, a can, and a +6 over swingarm. stock engine.

  • key word your dad owns it and it has a vtwin in that thing less over all torque i have ridden a 1000 and to tell u the truth they are fast and nice but not faster then a jap bike

  • Zuki rider here. I have taken a buell for a short spin. I like most everything about them, but the Cluncky shifting. Buell "were" nice bikes. Considering they just quit making them. Though, I don't think in all honesty I'd drop money to own one.

  • @HaterRepresentative Um, I've ridden a Buell, and been riding my bike with some Buell's. The new bike might come closer, but any Jap bike with similar displacement will still out run it in a straight line.

My Sv1000s will run with every Buell untill the new 1125. I won't get into the penis envy issues.

  • @HaterRepresentative no shit i have a s1 lightning and i would spank any jap bike over my lap stoplight to stoplight

  • @iHANGwheeliesBITCH hahahahaha. Pull up beside a Busa or a 14 kid. You will be embarassed!

  • @HaterRepresentative old generation s2 i think...

  • By the way Where did Busa or any other jap bike finish this year?Even though the rotax engine is responsible without doubt .Team Buell won.And Erik was fired for it.We will miss You Erik but not for long I'm sure of that .Get onboard with germany /austria we will follow.HARLEY YOU REALLY PISSED ME OFF CAN YOU TELL.FUCK ALL THE ROLEX RIDERS !! Harley was founded on soul not STATUS YOU MORON OF A COMPANY.This makes the stupid AMF thing look like a yugo corp. move .World likes Erik You Fire him?FY

  • Right on, fuck Harley for dropping Buell. They fucked over all of us. I am going for a Jap bike for my next one.

  • My 2000M2 on the bottle will kill that busa.Did You see who had the holeshot by midtrack? Then the busa top end came into play.I hit the button at about 300ft out the busa never catches up in the quarter.Put the bottle on the busa makes no diff .I run 9.90 with only a 30hp(NOS) shot on top of vance hines exhauast ,stage 1 setup and welded crank 148hp at the wheel ..And on the street? lol, No camparison .Handling ? no camparison.Busa's have no soul and my soul doesnt need 200mph in real world

  • Buells are designed to sit in a showroom....clearly they are at a technological disadvantage from ANY jap liter bike produced even 15 years ago.

  • not realy, the only down side they have to jap bikes is that useless harley engine. the rest of it is pritty well designed and handles nicely.

  • where's the buel/harley haters now???

  • lol he still ran a 13 though :-P And not that i like busa's but... that dude ran a 11.1 on a busa lol that's very average ;-)

  • GO THE BUSA..

  • considering the fact that the hyabusa's can do about 200 out of the box w/out the governing chip. id say this wasnt a fair race

  • Going fast in a straight line.....boring.

Buells are designed for the twisties, not drag racing.

  • @129Slayer Been riding Buell (and Harleys) for a LOOOONG time. The busas might win on the highways, but those of us that know.....well the Buells OWN the citys.

  • @theMIGHTYKICKSTAND your fucking high buells suck what are you smoking buells are harley crap nuff said

  • @macdaddy1600 Stop Talking shit like you know it all. You Probably ride a scooter.

  • @robotboy1112 ii have a 1200 cc suzuki bandit i ride the bike i like and i dont like harleys. i say to each its own. A top of the line Harley costs many thousands more than a comparable import motorcycle, is less dependable, doesn't enjoy the quality or workmanship, and won't even perform as well. It isn't even close. So, why do so many people flock to HD dealerships and wait in line for months for a Harley?

  • @macdaddy1600 are you talking about the XB's? which Buells are you talking about?

  • @theMIGHTYKICKSTAND your a fool

  • @129Slayer I would agree that bends are more fun than straights, but the adrenaline rush of a drag race can't be beaten..

  • @129Slayer

yes they are, but even I have fun going straight sometimes and I only have a 500cc Ninja lol

  • it's an irregular race.. the buell has 85 HP and the hayabusa 180 HP

  • Where you you get 85 HP? I have an 05 XB 12 S that will eat any jap bike in the !/4 at 130 HP....

  • I think he talked about xb9r

  • Got it..Duh..

  • i've talked from a xb9r not from xb12s ;)

  • buells need wheelie bars to compete with the busa's if they don't... they can't really get a good enough start.

  • the busa would fucking kill that buell

  • ashkanmosavi: not on a twisty road, it wouldn't. The Buell would FUCKING KILL that Hairybusa.

  • i use to build and race buells there bad ass...

  • LOL HARD at everyone who thinks an american standard production bike will beat the GSXR1300 Busa

  • hell, even kawasaki!

  • lolz at u u nub, looks like that's a xb9r. so a 984 vs. a 1300... hmm who SHOULD win? well i know stock a xb9r has about 75 hp. so let's try the 1125r which stock has 145 hp. now tell me with the same if not better acceleration plus the extra speed would not slap that pos busa to the ground. oh did i forget to mention that buells also handle way better than some dumb ass busa that's made to go in a str8 line? kthxbye

  • lol except you are racing a drag bike vs a non drag bike gg

  • kirbienstien: On a track, it WOULD beat a Busa.

  • if you won that race because he red lit then all credit to you. technique counts out there as well. j

  • If that wasnt a 1/4 mile race and was a moto speedway race the Buell would have beaten that hyabusa hands down. Dont get me wrong though, jap bikes are nice rides too. I just perfer the Buells

  • i like the ride of a harley but for speed theres just no contest at least off the showroom floor (them harley pro drag bikes are fuckin sick) but all in all topspeed for me on a wideglide 115, top speed on the R1 192. but like i said thats just me

  • The wideglide is obviously no match for a jap "sport" bike. But what about the xb12r, the 1125r, and 1125cr. Those are some wicked fast bikes, american made, and are kickin ass and taking names is pr racing right now.

  • I did 10.89 at 130 mph on my gsxr 600 08 last fall , bone stock

  • Was there a back wind and were you going downhill? Just kidding, nice job bro. I did 2 min. at 35 mph on my Harley Street Bob... with a smile on my face.

  • @sirboomdotcom ...and the smile is what it's all about anyway, isn't it?

  • buell is not a 1/4 mile bike , even with my 1275 stroker kit on my lighting , my best time at strip is 11.02 @ 124mph .now I drive my bike on twisty roads as this bike is ment to be. my last bike was zx10r turbo that runs 9.08 @165 mph, but could't turn for shit.

  • Though now Buell Finally has an liquid cooled 1125cc Engine built by Rotrex in Austria. Unfortunatly though Buell had to turn to Europeans to make a decent performing engine. This is not the first time either this has happend (HD Vrod)

  • It's Rotax, and it was merely built there, designed to Buell specifications.

  • yeah thats right, keep telling yourself that....... don't know whats wrong you yanks. I like your engineering (I ride S1 Buell) but how come you can't build a modern engine ? I'd rather buy american than Austrian or German

  • We can. It's the accountants, "yes men" management, and overpaid unions that dumb them down or pair a great engine with a tractor transmission. Anyway, the issue with American engineering isn't engines. Frankly, the internal combustion engine is an old technology. The issue with American vehicle engineering is the handling. I just don't think we've ever been good at it. We didn't have to be, with our big, long, straight roads. Now we do, and we don't have the technology to win there.

  • Jap Bike suck balls huh? Dont get me wrong Buells handle well But sadley the have an outdated lump of crap in the middle. The "Thunderstorm" air cooled twin from a HD Sportster. Put them up against a Literbike from any of the Big Four and they will get smoked at the strip at the track or the street.

  • Quarter miles and top ends and hp aren't what bikes are all about. For some, maybe, and thats fair enough. But for others, personality brings great joy and bonding between person and machine. Buel's are beauties and so is that v twin Harley engine especially to have it in a Buel configuration.

  • Not on any street I know. I ride with all the big japs and Italian machines and on twisty english roads the Buell can keep up and get by some of them. check out my S1 buell v R6 vid.

  • This is a great video. Its a great example of why jap bikes suck balls. They take way too much time to wind up and finally put some power to the road. Busa's aren't even practical street bikes. They weigh too much, they get worse gas mileage than most cars, and they can't turn with a fuck. The only thing it has going for it is top end speed. What a worthless bike. Gotta love the buells. They can do it all.

  • Sht...Jap Sv650 can beat a buell 1000 in a Drag...And you say jap bikes suck? Buell isnt ready for the big show yet but when they are my Patriotism wont allow me to buy japanese bikes. Until then...Suzuki and Yamaha :)

  • that was pitiful! i own a 07 buell xb9sx (the baby one) with a remus powerizer, k+n filters, remus exhuast and an after market airbox on standard tyers and with awful reaction times of 1.006 im running 11.564 standing 1/4 at a trap MPH of 113.3 and i do this 6 or 7 runs a day 2 days a year for fun. the rider should be ashamed!

  • you are a penis! let me guess? u r 5 foot nothing and hate people with real (stock) bikes? wow ur sooo cool with all that shit on ur bike. its probably the fastest on the planet! u should beashamed 4 being a douche! the guys just posting his run, and never claimed he would beat your fairy ass cock smoking pussy bike! how bout that!!BUBBA ARMY!

  • jealousy is a terible thing.lmfao.6ft 1" actualy and i have no problems with stock bikes at all, mine used to be one! my point was that if u ran it standard i would expect better than 12 and a half (peronaly achieved...stock!.lol). drag tracks are all about who is fastest and we all started somewhere. i wouldn't have posted that time on u tube i think was my point.

  • oh and im a property developer, thought i would say cause all tho i din't ask u put ARMY( like that means/proves or says anything about u). its nice to share.

  • hahahaha so funny how the buell was so far

    ahead and still lost!

    and i even hate busas!

  • Yeah, Buells have torque throughout and would eat any bike on the 1/8 mile. But the top end speed on other bikes and hitting the powerband at high RPMS make up for the slow start in the 1/4 mile

  • oh, wow! the busa won in a straight line! who gives a shit. it would get eaten alive in any real life, everyday scenario by the buell. that busa is a fat ass couch!

  • I agree. In terms of pure fun and everyday riding the Buell wins my vote. The Busa is heavy and long and just not as much fun in the curves, but I still respect its raw power!

  • here lies buellx12r going three times the speed of traffic during gridlock...decapitated...but he had balls

  • +10 hahaha

  • lol. a hyabusa is a hyabusa. the fastest buell is the 1125r and it does 10s with pros on it, the busa does 9s. why would you race the slower air cooled buell quarter mile when the fastest one is a whole second slower? now if you were on a twisting track with 2 good riders on hyabusa and 1125r id like to watch that. busa has 20 horses more than 1125r but I doubt it handles as well so it would be a cool race to see. at this time if you want quarter mile with a busa you need a zx14 or something.

  • agreed. Im a buell man myself but considering where i live there arent any roads where i would need to go 200 mph.

  • buells are ment for the twisties not for the drag strip. a buell would own a busa on a windy back road. 2 nice bikes, but built for completely different things

  • LOL, first off who ever likes a Busa is a f*cking noob, only people who know nothing about bikes start talking about Busa. first off that looked like a buell blast. and most of all it doesnt matter how mast your bike is, its wether or not you have the balls to go that fast iv raced 1000cc cbr's and GXR's down my cities streets there bikes faster but they dont have the balls I do to race through traffic. so eat Sh*t Busa F*cks.

  • At least ur passionate :)

  • sorry are you that ass hole that nearly gets people killed?

  • who?

  • the guy talking about flying through traffic.. thats not bravery.. its stupidity

  • I have a Buell and in no way possible would it hang on a drag strip with a busa. It would look like a stock Mustang GT against a alcohol funny car.

  • poor mind... belive this video... there is no comparison... 4 cilinder on the top ever!!!

  • LOL, Im on top forever B*tch. on top of your Mom too.

  • This video shows very clearly the difference between torque and horsepower. Good torque allows the Buell to launch very quickly and get a "head start," whereas good horsepower allows the Hayabusa to pass the Buell for the win when the "rocket effect" kicks in. :D

  • It's actually a "Bracket Race" - the Buell gets a 2.4 second head start at the lights as indicated by their "Dial-In" times (13.35 vs. 10.95). There is no example of torque vs. horsepower, Bracket Racing is designed so both contestants cross the finish line together, so the 'Busa just sits there for 2.4 seconds while the Buell tries to get down the track.

  • your an idiot, the busa has over a 100ft/lbs stock. is that not enough torque, i swear if the busa had a 1000ft/lbs of torque v2 lovers would still say thing like "well by xb12 would win for the first six inches". or the ever popular "my bike has real world power". well guess what power is power 100ft/lbs of torque is a 100lbs of torque on any bike. the rocket effect? you mean that bike getting its ass kick had to do with some kind of effect give me a brake douche.

  • joekawi - If you look below my post, baelzbub pointed out that it was a bracket race. I was unaware that the Buell got a head start.

  • The Busa makes more actual torque at only 3500rpm (85lb/ft) then the Buell makes at it's peak.(70ish lb/ft at 6700rpm.

  • For the answer to this question go to nrhsperformance website...tech-tips. A good explanation of horsepower and torque is given. Also, the answer is not what you think it will be.

  • A Ducati 848 just BARELY beats a Suzuki GSX-R600 for horsepower (horsepower translates to speed in this case).

So in a mile it's a fairly even match.

In the 1/4 though, that Ducati would smoke the GIXXER. That Ducati and it's V-Twin would be off the line and up to it's top speed long before the GSX-R.

So for acceleration you want a Twin (of any size), for Speed you wan an I4 or a REALLY big Twin.

  • What about a Big Twin Vs. a Big I4?

    Same thing.

On a race track (circuit) it would be a fairly even match. The I4 would bull away a bit on straights (long enough ones), but the Twin would catch up in the corners and pull out harder.

On a long straight course... forget the twin... no competition.

Now if you changed the gearing around a bit you could get a Twin to outrun an I4, but you would loose the acceleration/torque advantage. That would make the Twin fail badly on a circuit vs an I4.

  • so according to you a v2 is always a winner in the curves and a i4 is always a winner in a "long" straight. if only it was that cut and dry, infact there a hundreds of variables to consider. not just engine type and power. so for you to sit there and generalize something that really as a lot to do with rider skill and bike setup is just rediculas. my stock z1000 will beat any stock buell of the line as long as i have enough skill to get the bike of the line without wheeling all over the place.

  • That's riders comes into play.

If we are talking purely about the machine (which I was), then yeah, twin in curves, I4 in straights.

Riders are what make all the difference really. That's how 1 bike can finish first, but another of the same make and model will finish dead last. Riders can overcome some deficiencies in design in the way they ride, or totally waste the power their bike is capable of. That's why it's so much fun and no one ever really knows whats going to happen. Variables

    +1 to u

  • the fact still remains that i4s dominate moto gp so your argument is not based on fact but conjecture. if you will do a little research on traction control i think youll be surprised at how far the technology has come. i4s can now power out of corners with the same tire shredding intensity of there v2 peers. granted they dont have full traction control its more like a fuel retard when rpm suddenly rise, but it still is very effective at keeping you out of trouble.

  • Let's apply this to the real world in a simple example. Roy Ricer has a 600cc inline 4 that makes 40 ft-lbs at 15000rpm. He's up against Billy Biker with a Buell making 80 ft-lbs at 6000 rpm. Who's going to win?

  • No inline 4's have only 600cc you idiot. they have between 1800 to 3000cc's

  • um, sesarathor... look up the Honda CBR600RR, Suzuki GSX-R600, etc.

Those are I4's that are @ or under 600cc's. lol

Hell, the Hayabusa is 1340cc. Well below 1800.

  • Blue, that's a bit of a bad argument. that 600cc I4 is well.... a 600cc I4. that Buell you described would have to have at least a 1000cc engine. They are totally different classes. In that argument the Buell will win. 1) V-Twins have low end torgue, so it would get off the line faster. 2) because of it's increased displacement it is also producing as much or MORE bhp as the 600cc I4.

Now if that was a 600cc V-twin (even if it was an 800cc) it would loose. The i4's top end would win out

  • You gotta love Bandimere speedway. How much does the density altitude effect the bikes acceleration?

  • i seen a video of a honda cr 500 racing a kawasaki 1200. the cr 500 ran a 12.1 at 116 mph. (the video showed it in kph but converted it was about 116.

  • This is exactly why Buells are bigger sellers in Europe than in the U.S. Europeans, as a group, are more evolved and therefore, less inclined to be worried about straight line performance where the only thing required of the rider is to hold on.

  • haha good call

  • Damn right senoJSR!

I'm an American, but you are 100% correct. It's those turns that matter the most.

  • i think we can both agree that bikes rule and there just about the most fun you can have on the highway.

  • 11.1 for the busa, how shit. Capable of sub 10's in the right hands. My 600 does 11.1's

  • Huh? Stay with a Busa? You wish. The air-cooled Buells won't even stay with a 600cc sportbike like the R6 in the quarter. The new 1125R is about equal to a GSX-R 750 when it comes to straight line performance.

  • You are right, it is clearly not a stock buell... I own a buell XB12Ss and the torque is amazing but is no where near a R6 in acceleration after a few hundred meters...

  • Well i have an 08 XB12R and i does take on the 600s. i go riding with my buddies all the time and i take all of them at the take off and cornering and coming off the corners. the only time i cant keep up is at the top end. thats where their horsepower kicks in.

  • You're wrong. I've seen many magazine tests and the Buell XB12 is slower both to 60mph and 120mph. Acceleration to 120mph is actually quite a bit slower than a 600cc bike. The fact that you take them through the corners have more to do with rider skill.

  • then i must really be a good drag racer too right? :) you can read all the mags you want and theyll tell you one thing. and its ok for u to believe them. but until u try it and find out for yourself, you cant really belive everything you read. And yeah my sales guy told me that when i bought my Buell, "it wont keep up with the 600s just so u know". ive proved him and the mags wrong. but you could be right...

  • I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but the magazines ride the bikes to the limit and the XB12 is just not as quick as a 600cc. All the tests show the same thing: The Buell can (in a best case scenario) match the 600s up to 60mph but after that it's over. The XB12 does 0-125mph in 15sec and that's about 5 sec slower than a 600cc.

  • The Buell XB12 does the 1/4 mile in about 11.5 @ 118mph. A GSX-R 600 does it in 10.6 @ 133mph. So in what way is the Buell competitive? There's nothing strange going on here. The 600s are more powerful, weighs less and are more aerodynamic than the Buell.

  • If you buy a Buell,u buy the label "exotic"

  • +1 agreed. EVERYONE always goes "omfg, Buells suck, Buells, are slow, blah Blah FUCKING BLAH" Well guess what, and dumbshit idiot can go fast in a straight line. Hit 2 turns and you can kiss a Buells ass. People ride Buells for the same reason I do, they are FUN, handle better than anything, sound fucking FANTASTIC, and the number one reason, Buells are DIFFERENT!!

  • was about to buy an xb9s as my first fully owned bike, damn its costlier than an 08 fireblade...:( got an 05 ninja for half ..wooohooo its fun!!!!!!!!Buell still a future plan :D

  • buell is different, they just need to dump that crapy engine which they did with the new 1125r they finally got smart and produced a bike with a modern engine that can pull its weight against a literbike. About the handling, how many GP races has buell won? because if im not mastaken its like 3 or 4. so if an expert on a buell and a sportbike raced i think we know who would win. they dont handle as well as you think especially since the jap companies started mass centrilizing there bikes.

  • Joe, it's not about the origin or make of the bike that makes the difference, but the type of engine. Twins are good @ low and mid torque. I4's are good at high end torque.

What this means: Twins go from 0-60 faster, but I4's go from 60-120 faster.

Ducati (who uses V-Twin engines), win a lot because on a course they are able to pull out of corners like no ones business, and the size of the engines are so large that they are able to keep up with the I4's (which can't reach their top speed)

  • have you riden a 1000cc I4? because if you had you wouldnt say that. maybe in the past v2 had more torque, becuase with all the advances and research these companies put in they make there bikes with plenty of torque. ducati doesnt win a lot Honda wins a lot

  • a 1000cc twin vs a 1000cc I4 on a course is an even match. In a long straightaway the I4 kicks the twins ass. In a quarter mile the twin would win.

This isn't speculation it's pure science, based on how the engines work.

Now if the I4 rider was good and the Twin rider not so good, the I4 would win in any circumstance simple because a good rider will make better use of his machines capabilities. Just as a good twin rider MIGHT beat a bad I4 rider in a straight (i4s do straight and fast very well

  • From a stock to stock race the busa will kill the Buell. A Buell set up for straight line racing will stay right with the busa. Actually both times for the bikes are slow. The Buell can run mid 11's and the busa can run in the 10's.

  • lmao a red light! he bro props! i have the lightning xb9sx

  • Lets see a ZX 14 Kawi go out there and race the Busa. Buells are made to handle curves for the most part, this much is true. Let the "little Buell" embarrass some Big Twin owner. Thats whats fun. The guy with the new bike and chaps to match. And white running shoes sure sign of a rookie

  • Fact:Japanese bikes # 1.hayabusa King o the road.End of story.BMW this that other all crap.

  • Buells are not designed for drag racing. They're designed for cornering. Whoever had the idea to drag race a Buell would probably also try to take a train to the South pole: wrong tool for the job. BTW, in an actual twisty road race, the Buell would have shown the Hayabusa who's really the boss.

  • Both cool bikes.

  • Get the Buell lawnmower out there!

  • buells are what they are.. put a hayabusa on a race track,or on a twisty road, it will lose everytime to a buell 1200 xbr. but if you want straight line speed, go for the hayabusa.. i`ve had both and i love my buell.

  • Buells are gonna be sporting a 160hp v-twin Rotax very soon .

  • They already are, 1125R Drink it up `Busa lovers. 142 rwhp 10500 rpm rev limit.

Busa's are sleds in the corners, they're like 10' long. :)

  • I own a XB9S with a few aftermarket parts and there aren't many bikes that can beat me off the line. Now top speed, I don't stand a chance. Practically every super sport will take my Buell top speed.

But then again, it's a street fighter, which is a class all in it's own.

  • The Buells are a hell of a lot of fun. They go a lot faster than a stock Sporty. Lets see Buell vs. HD to be fair.

  • not much there chief. i've never lost to a buell yet.

  • You will in the twisties.

  • Haha! Yeah a Buell will whip any HD, even in the straightaways, but HDs don't have the power to weight ratio that Buells have, either.

  • I'd love to see a Busa vs. an 1125 on some curves. I think the Jap owner would want his money back, trade it in for some real muscle. Plus Buells are straight BADA**. The engine is sooo nasty.

  • sorry but had to laugh at "buells are the best handling bikes around"

  • in one issue of Bike it says so.

  • Laugh all you want: it's still true. Buells are not designed for drag racing. They're designed for cornering. Whoever had the idea to drag race a Buell would probably also try to take a train to the South pole: wrong tool for the job. BTW, in an actual twisty road race, the Buell would have shown the Hayabusa who's really the boss.

  • They are. Go to the Buell website, or read any reviews on the bike. Buells are the #1 handling sport bikes on the market.

  • If I want an honest review, the last place I'd

go is the manufactures website, Next yer gonna tell me that Buell is gonna take the

    World Superbike championship. Jezzus, wakeup!

  • well Buell does have the best handling, the exhaust is below the engine for nice central of gravity but thats not the only thing that makes it superior in handling

  • Really? I could've sworn it was Yamaha, Ducati, Triumph, Honda, and Kawasaki that were dominating the twisties, Moto GP, and had the labels "superior handling".

  • What's so good about all that speed when you cant handle or control it. Sure the Hyabusa is extremely fast but how does it handle? Buells are the best handling bikes around. I bet the new 1125R would go up nicely against a Hyabusa.

  • the 1125r would easily own the high-uh-bus-uh on a track

  • Buell Schumell! Only the Japs know how to make bikes...

  • Oh? Get out there and ride a Buell. Then talk.

  • You obviously know absolutely nothing about motorcycles or physics.

  • i dislike the hyabusa. its like halo 3. HYPE!!! so damn big, its like riding with a small car between your legs.... perhaps it compensates for something else.... lol!

  • Years ago I saw a Buell drag race a Honda or Suzuki or? out at Sturgis. The other bike was low slung w/wheelie bars, etc. The stock looking Buell was probably no match anyway, but the rider stood up on the rear pegs and did a wheelie all the way down the track-to the crowd's delight.

  • I think it's amusing how people here are gloating about how slow Buells are when the only videos i've seen a buel racing against on Youtube have each one up against a GSXR or a Hayabusa... two of the fastest production bikes ever.. The Hayabusa IS the fastest. So where's the surprise when the buell loses..?

  • Not to mention that Buells aren't even meant as supersports, rather as sport bikes. Buells are great. They sound great, look great, and perform well too.

  • Exactly. They're not meant for racing.

  • thats funny cause i ride with a friend who owns a firebolt and watches him whoop all kinds of jap supersports all day....

  • That's not what I was saying. Buells are amazing in their way.. but they're not built to compete with a Hayabusa or GSXR. Yes, Buells can hold their own most of the time, but against two of the fastest superbikes out there..?

  • Buells are not designed for drag racing. They're designed for cornering. Whoever had the idea to drag race a Buell would probably also try to take a train to the South pole: wrong tool for the job. BTW, in an actual twisty road race, the Buell would have shown the Hayabusa who's really the boss.

  • Hell yea! Preach on!
