Damn! Those hot ass 1989 lyrics can still smash a lot of rappers today! The DOC was one of the best rappers right out the gate. I remember when he came out, it was so much hype on the streets about him. Rappers in NY wasn't use to hearing no rapper on the west coast flow like that. At the time MC Ren and Ice Cube were the ones known on the west for being lyrical until the DOC came out and he stole the show and the spotlight! Well at least until his car accident.

The D.O.C is easily one of my top-10 rappers/lyricists of all-time. I'd put him up there with the greats - Kool Moe Dee, Chuck D, Naz, Guru, etc.

I can't help but wonder how far he would have gone had his accident/injury not ended his career. It's a damn shame that happened, not only for his sake, but for ours - the listeners.
