Oh so thats what i have been doing lol I used to just try to do normal alternate untill i tried this which i guess is called economy picking

Great lesson...

but i think i would be easier to start on a upstroke, so are using economy on the first string change (i.e. = E to A)... 'cause the way you show us, the economy starts on the second string change (i.e = From A to D).

still learn a lot from u.

Economy is harder to learn but is easier to use once you learn it. Alternate is easier to learn but harder to use because it uses wasted physical motion.

It is like this, Economy is when you always pick in the direction of a string you are changing to be it a skip or adjacent strings. Always pick directly into the new string and never go around it to come back into it like you would for alternate. If you stay on one string than alternate and economy are identical. Economy only comes into play when changing from string to string. You are simply making sure to use less motion so you can play easier and faster.

Thanks for the kind message. I am using my homemade guitar in this video. I actually like this guitar more than the jem. It has much better action and a nicer tone. The only issue I have with it is the big ass bridge hitting my hand all the time. I wish I put a low profile bridge in sometimes.
