  • @OneUniqueTrulady I have a few questions: Does henna damage hair at all? How long does it last? Would it just fade back to my natural jet black? How much would I need? (My hair is past two feet long, and super thick)

  • @mcrluvrmariah92 No (although I have been told not to use it with a permanent dye because of the chemicals). I really could not tell how long it lasted, because I dyed my hair a few days after. I think that would depend on what color you use. If you use red, then I would say that the color would fade, but not completely fade. There are other youtube video on henna, where people have been using henna for a long time. I just tried it that one time. Sounds like you would need 2...

  • @OneUniqueTrulady Okay. Thank you for the help. :)

  • @OneUniqueTrulady "I think that would depend on what color you use." Pure henna comes in only one colour, so if there are other colours, it's chemicals with little to no henna added. It's very possible that the colouring could damage hair or fade.

  • @mcrluvrmariah92 I dye my wife's hair with (pure) henna. Pure henna actually is the opposite. It doesn't damage hair, but leaves it soft and healthy. The dye in the plant is permanent and we've not seen any fading over time. The colour does get darker during the first 4-7 days, then stays.

How much? I'm just guessing but 300-400g. If you have any left over, it can be kept in the freezer.

  • Your Beautiful no homo ( :

  • @pkin8721 Thank you! :-)

  • i can see you on ANTM, very natural beauty.

  • @agadonk Thank you!! :-)

  • My first henna treament gave my hair a pretty dark red tint, I will be posting my video soon too.

  • @KinkyBeautiful Cool! :-)

  • @gracepalmer It's a beat from my friend DizzeBeatz!

  • why not just use a shower cap?

  • @lilwayne4ev Good question...

  • I've henna'ed before, and the first time it just gave my hair a redish shine, especially in light. And the second time, its even more red in the light. :)

  • @Cynnbadd25 Thank you! :-)

  • how long were you natural when you did this video

  • @BaBySpIcE1101 About 2 months, maybe 3..

  • @selenague Thank you! Light brown...

  • what is henna?? where can i get some !?

  • @takenbacon999 It's a good condiioning source for your hair. You can find it at Whole Foods...

  • yeah you should have left it in for at least 2 or 3 hours xP

  • how long did u leave it in your hair? sorry if you said it I couldnt really hear the video

  • @VannersHEARTSMakeup 45 minutes

  • haha! it looks lke guacamole...

  • ok, that didn't do anything, it looked the same to me.

  • @chevon1920 It highlighted my hair just a little bit, now to much though....

  • @chevon1920 It isn't bleach. If a person has black hair, it will only give a tiny tint out in the sun. It's a super conditioner, which is why a lot of black people are using it now.

  • Thank you for the video you did great. the henna will work its magic I love henna..have you ever mixed or tried cassia obvia ? like that ooops i forgot how its spelled..but its here on you tube cassia hair powder, or you can mix it with marshmellow root, oilve oil, coco nut oil...here on the tube also hair steaming those are good videos too.best of luck to you...

  • @skygodess003 Your are very welcome! It had cassia in it, but I never used it by itself. Now that I have dye in my hair, I was told that it is not good to add henna anymore :-(

  • an hour and a half is not enough time to get lasting results. it helps if you sleep on it

  • @ethiolove45 I was scared that I would get it all over my pillow in the middle of the night....

  • you should have sectioned you hair in the application process if you had wanted more color. Hang in there you will get it soon.

  • @Nyksism My hair was too short at the time, so I just applied it like that :-)

  • why does the henna mixture look like poo? LOL! sorry it really looks like it!

  • @Dante121892 I said the same thing!! That's just ho it is...it's like the same consistency as mud....

  • doesnt look any different, buy a normal hairdye.

  • @rebecquebec I already did....

  • i am learning so much from you buddy about this natural hair thing....and i am waiting patiently for the next video....

  • @monasteryboy Thank you buddy! I will have the next one up tomorrow :)

  • I cannot wait to see what you did, for some reason I'm thinking I know !!! lol Great Vidoe.

  • @Oakcliffsweety LOL girl I will have the video up tomorrow for sure :) Thank you very much girlie :)

  • @one, your hair color looks good, very subtle. I found with my 1st usage I followed the package instructions, letting the henna sit for 2 hrs after mixed. After application left it in my hair about 2 hrs. The color was very slight. With the next application I mixed the henna, letting it sit overnight to ensure full color release. With application I left the henna in my hair overnight/approx 6-8 hrs & it appeared to color my hair more intensely.

Just a suggestion, but I loved your results!

  • @tressfreecre8tions Hmmmm, I might have to try that next time. I've heard of people leaving it in over night, but no one really expressed the outcome, so thank you very much....I will definitely try it :)

  • @757chaneal, I am luv luv luvin henna! I have used henna red about 4 times so far! Covers any gray hairs you have, as well as adds a subtle red tone! Do it girl!

I'd like to see how much redder my hair gets from now until summer, since the sun generally highlights my hair naturally!

  • Great video. When I woke up this morning out of the blue I started thinking about henna, and coincidentally you did a video about it. That's a sign I need to get me some henna. LOL!!! But again great video.

  • @757chaneal LOL I think that was a sign as well! Thank you very much :)
