  • One of my favourite songs, great performance

  • Saya suke sgt awk Damon Albarn! Awak sgt AWESOME!!! And this song is just so grogeous and epic and the message is soooo profound! :D I love you Blur!

  • Three persons just doesn't understand genius. That's all.

  • @MalinoweKarmi It should be Three people just don't understand genius. Sorry can't help be a grammar nazi when you're downing the 3 who disliked this. XD But I can't agree with you more though! This song is EPIC!!!

  • Oh my god! Damon´s laugh is so sexy!

  • can you heard 2D?

  • breathtaking

  • One of my favourite albuns by Blur and unfogettable show in Brazil (13 times).

  • ésta rola checa con mi estado de ánimo el día de hoy y mañana... chido BLUR! es buenísima!

  • oh, graham! ...love damon...

  • the guitar in the end is incredible, but live, its inaudible...

  • Look at the size of Coxons pedal effects box a 8:03. It's probably the biggest I have ever seen and his guitar sounds amazing as usual in this song. The band at this point aere the best live act in the world then they come back just as strong in 09 when they reformed. Well done boys and it was good to have you back because you were missed so much. Just wish you would make another album

  • love

  • I have a friend who has always sort of dissed Blur when I tried playing him stuff of theirs. I finally showed him this and he just sat back and said "This is fucking great"

  • Blur Gorillaz Good the bad the Queen Man I Love Damon Albarn Period

  • Fucking brilliant. I'll make no appologies

  • Speechless!

  • "Battle" is easily BLUR's best song played live. The only others that would be in the discussion, are Oily Water, Trimm Trabb, Bugman, This Is A Low, Battery In Your Leg, Death Of A Party, maybe even Sing or Essex Dogs. Even including those great (and underrated) songs, I would take Battle as a greater live song than almost any other band out there could put out. Battle to me, is what "The Figurehead" is to The Cure.

  • Beetlebum @ Wembley in 1999 is my favortie live Blur performance.

  • To me, this song represents the manic social, personal...even political... 'battles' we go thru everyday ... every week.. or every month... The song brings out the absolute absurdity and strangeness of conflict in our everyday lives. in the most bootiful way tho... this absurdity that most of us have become so strangley used to.. RIP blurxo

  • i agree with drilltime.

  • to be the biggest pop band in the country..

    then do this..

    what balls..

oasis continue in ever decreasing circles of classic rock long haired dry wank cock wash..

    discuss

  • Last time I said something bad about Oasis I almost got killed...and it was on a MGMT video, they were mocking on Live forever and everyone was convinced that it was a tribute, I just cant stand Oasis. Blur is awesome

  • great apocalyptic tune at the intro...

    the best!! :)

  • love this song!

  • Listen guys & girls this is truly amazing!

Stunning sound and emotion.....tickles & intreages the ear. Big Blur fan since 1994/5. But not blinkered - i love all music - but this is just pure quality!

  • Goshhh what a song !

  • Absolutely stunning.

From the supplementary focus on Dave's drumming to Damon's haunting vocal, this live performance is a masterpiece.

  • dave is an awesome drummer. always said it

  • 13 is the best!

  • This song is really great live, but Damon scared the hell out of me at 5:25, lol. There is a lot of emotion in this performance though, it makes me view the song in a different light now than when I was just listening to it on the cd.

  • I did not like the studio version that much, but WOW!!! this song live is just mesmerizing...

  • Blur are coming back this year!!!

they are just too good cant wait

  • GRAHAM! BACK TO BLUR!!!!!

  • Fascinating performance - I always thought this song was a bit Radioheadesque...I love how Blur always try to reinvent themselves with every album as to keep it fresh for us.

  • Why did they disbanded? That's a great unjustice!

  • they should've opened more gigs with battle.

  • They didn't want to.

  • evidently.

  • The live sound so much better than the album version. And the album version was amazing!

  • blur one of those bands that just got better. 13 was a brilliant album

  • I agree, this is my favourite song on "13".

It's great to see Damon perform when he's not absolutely wrecked, by the way  He's a great artist and a great frontman. Blur, come back!

  • Absolutely brilliant track. One of my favorites on 13, right next to Coffee & TV, Trimm Trabb, and Tender.

  • how they changed in one year, that damon of 00 looks more like the damon of 08 then the damon of 99

  • Ah - no! MTV used it at an awards ceremony whilst playing a trailer for Saving Private Ryan. So I was right all along!

    Mwahahaha!

  • Just done some research. My bad.

Maybe it was a trailer for the DVD, or something. Yeah, that'll be it...

  • That would mean Steven Spielberg had used the song before Blur released it in 1999. And, in the words of Troy McClure, that would be downright nutty.

  • i believe this song was used on saving private ryans movie trailer

  • love this song

  • i wish they did another triphop album, cus 13 is probs their second best album (after modern life is rubbish, of course)

  • 13 is trip hop?????!? why am i surprised i dont understand what trip hop sounds like

    i like parklife the best

yeah! but all the other albums rule too

  • Dave rowntree rocks

  • fuck oasis...

  • Blur and Radiohead have always felt like the two brother bands of British music to me in how they reinvent themselves and make albums that are both personal and political or filled with social commentary

  • @Trunks378 radiohead's the depressingly sad brother. just as brilliant

  • so much more melodic than radiohead... which is what this songs reminds of

  • The 3 albums since the britpop days are goreous works of art. Damon Albarn is a musical genius - everything he touches is GOLD.

The Britpop albums are equally good!

  • Yeah tell that fucker what is good music!!! DAMON IS THE BEST ARTIST! HE EVEN MADE MONKEY OPERA GOLD!

  • @cubilas Agree with the "everything he touches becomes gold" part.

  • it reminds me a bit on "wherre is my mind" by pet shop boys

however - it´s my favourite song of blur

  • this is a tune that gets under your skin.. fantastic!

  • graham, you fuckin' rock!

  • how come that no one ever used this one for a movie trailer or for a movie itself? It's so inspiring...

  • i LOVE this song

  • I loved early Blur, I fucking died for Britpop Blur, and I fucking love their new stuff, but this and Bustin and Drowin are the best ever songs.

  • brilliant, just brilliant

  • great opening to a gig !!

  • Man... how hard is it to not like Blur? Theyre all so cool and wierd and sweet and talented and stuff... :)

  • Blur would kick those punks asses who said that stuff in the begining...

  • I know, what did that person say whatever for?? Theres even people yelling PLAY THE SONG and shit on the Demon Days live gorillaz...

    Or am I hearing things?

  • on of the most amazing musicians on planet. and an amazing dark, beautiful song

  • We need to get the rest of the concert on here

  • i agree.

  • They were so much better with Graham Coxon on guitar.

  • Don't even doubt it! Think Tank would be way better with Graham

  • Agreed!!

  • so deamn great

  • nobody would say whatever, nobody who wants there balls handed to them in a plastic baggy

  • only you, only you

  • Did someone say whatever?

  • Damon XD
