does anyone know where i can see the last opry performance of waylon jenning? it was january 2002 only a month before he died and it was right after he had his leg amputated
This question was asked of Hank Williams jr, If you could talk to just one person who is no longer with us who would it be? Hanks answer, Thats easy Waylon.. I think that sums up the way Hank thinks of Waylon.
@bucklee48 hank is one of the greatest outlaws of all times but yes waylon is the greatest out law singer of all times he is the king of the outlaws and the greatest singer to ever walk this earth pearaod..... it tore me up to no end when he died on february 13 2002 cause on february 13 1996 my wife to be died so that is the double worst day of the year for me
This is the "Grand Ole Opry" show on CMT. From Sat, Feb,16th, 2002. Just 3 days after Waylon Jennings died, One of the saddest days of my life. We miss you "Hoss", There'll never be another one like you, ever again. Has it really been almost 10 years, wow !!!
Waylon Jennings was One of the best that ever lived. His Music stands out for itself and will most certainly stand the test of time. He was an amazing talent, a Rebel, an Outlaw, rock & roll ,country ,southernrock a Highway man. Call him what you will. He is still one of the biggest badass's that ever lived.
Bocephus is like fine wine folks, he just gets better with age!
62 years old and still gettiin it done, still kickin ass and takin names, and still sounding better then all of this modern pop "country" bullshit on the radio.
i get goosebumps on top of goosebumps everytime i listen to this song...hanks voice is really strong and haunting in the lyrics...makes ya feel like waylon is sittin right there beside the three of them singin right along...
It's not the money the fame or the the ladies that hit me hard you see now a days tahts all these artist care about these days. now i don't know if anyone recalls when Garth Brooks left the scene but he said it was because he had too much money. now what hank saw in the eyes of waylon told him don't do this for mateiral things do this for your soul for the people to express what they can't say country music is the real soul of the people
@ragester1 ya know, i personally like Merle as the King with Waylon in my top 2 or 3, but I am damn sure not going to argue with someone who thinks Waylon is the Greatest, damn that man could sing, spent many of nights listening to him, hard to argue against Waylon........RIP
This Song Brings Tears Too My Eyes Every Time I Hear It. Waylon Jennings Was A True Legend, He Changed Country Music Forever & Set The Path For Many Too Follow.
"and the first double platinum in this town is hangin on my wall..."
February 16th, 2002 - three days after Waylon passed. I remember watching this live, couldn't figure out why Porter was so upbeat when doing the intros. Eight years later, I still can't...
It's a great tribute to Ol Waylon - and I'm glad I found it on here. Thanx, Andrew.
Hank ran into Waylon on a airplane and told him he wanted him to check out this song I am writing about you. Waylon read this song and was speachless. The song is on Hog Wild .
This is on the "Out of Left Field" Album, Hank Jr - 1994. Before Waylon was dead. They were such good friends. Perfect choice of song by the man, and at least the Opry finally invited somebody in that's real. Been over 100 times, same ole same ole. That night was chilling....
This one great song. Waylon is the best of all time it's to bad radio quit playing his records as he got older.I saw him in concerts in the 70's & 80's and with the highwaymen in Richfield Oh in 1990. Also went to quite a few Hank Jr. shows. Can,t listen to the radio nomore these so called country singers suck.Oh well i can listen to Waylon and Hank jr on cd's. R.I.P Hoss
All you wanna be country singers need to get a big dose of this. The man in the shades and sittin under that hat is the real deal. He is paying tribute to the original outlaw and badass. RIP Waylon. I hate trying to find any good country music on the radio these days, it's impossible. Nashville needs to pull their head out of their ass and realize that there's not many real "country" singers left and they have turned their back on them.
i think its in drop d

actually wrote their own songs let
alone be themselves.
