  • I cant believe hank would play at the opry. but it was a damn good performance and nobody can do it like hank. true legend.

  • "He Was The Biggest Thing To Come Along In Nashville In Those Days, He Sang His Song Are You Sure Hank DONE IT This Way"

  • I was at the Opry that night it was a GREAT show and this was back when Country music was STILL Country music

  • this song is one of my favorites, gotten drunk to the best country song many a times. R.I.P. waylon, wish Hank still done it this way.

  • i get goosebumps on top of goosebumps everytime i listen to this song...hanks voice is really strong and haunting in the lyrics...makes ya feel like waylon is sittin right there beside the three of them singin right along...

  • @XXXbigdaddy101XXX Yeah, Blues Man is another one that he is especially strong on, as though Sr. is in the room giving an approving nod!

  • it just don’t get any better!

  • AWESOME

  • It's not the money the fame or the the ladies that hit me hard you see now a days tahts all these artist care about these days. now i don't know if anyone recalls when Garth Brooks left the scene but he said it was because he had too much money. now what hank saw in the eyes of waylon told him don't do this for mateiral things do this for your soul for the people to express what they can't say country music is the real soul of the people

  • waylon is king

  • WAYLON HOSS JENNINGS, THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME, THE KING OF COUNTRY!

  • @ragester1 ya know, i personally like Merle as the King with Waylon in my top 2 or 3, but I am damn sure not going to argue with someone who thinks Waylon is the Greatest, damn that man could sing, spent many of nights listening to him, hard to argue against Waylon........RIP

  • @WOODYSKYM Amen brutha. Amen...

  • TRULY......The Greatest!!!!!

  • "and the first double platinum in this town is hangin on my wall..."

February 16th, 2002 - three days after Waylon passed. I remember watching this live, couldn't figure out why Porter was so upbeat when doing the intros. Eight years later, I still can't...

It's a great tribute to Ol Waylon - and I'm glad I found it on here. Thanx, Andrew.

  • Singing about the King of Country, Waylon Jennings....

  • Hank ran into Waylon on a airplane and told him he wanted him to check out this song I am writing about you. Waylon read this song and was speachless. The song is on Hog Wild .

  • Hell Yes, Quacephus.

  • I watched this live days after Waylons death. I can tell you my eyes weren't dry!!!!!

  • An unforgettable performance the day after the death of Hoss. It's rare to hear this classic in its entirety LIVE. Great posting!!!

  • Once again....Hank puts to shame

    those who call themselves country

nowadays. Not sure if today's artists

actually wrote their own songs let

    alone be themselves.

  • wonder if 'ole Waylon would have an opinion on health care? What a sellout this man has become

  • Is there any doubt that Hank is the

    GREATEST!! Come on....it's so

    OBVIOUS!!!

  • I'LL DRINK TO THAT...

  • @stanmaddux "2nd" Only to the man he is paying tribute to in this song!

  • this is great thank you sooooo much

  • the opry got its ass kicked that night

  • Hell yes it did!

  • does any one have the rest of this episode of opry live

  • This is on the "Out of Left Field" Album, Hank Jr - 1994. Before Waylon was dead. They were such good friends. Perfect choice of song by the man, and at least the Opry finally invited somebody in that's real. Been over 100 times, same ole same ole. That night was chilling....

  • no, it is on the hog wild album

  • Out of left field came out before 94 friend. It was 1991.

  • Out of Left Field came out in 93.

  • Waylon was the best! We will miss him. We wont forget him. But rite now, I thank him.

  • This one great song. Waylon is the best of all time it's to bad radio quit playing his records as he got older.I saw him in concerts in the 70's & 80's and with the highwaymen in Richfield Oh in 1990. Also went to quite a few Hank Jr. shows. Can,t listen to the radio nomore these so called country singers suck.Oh well i can listen to Waylon and Hank jr on cd's. R.I.P Hoss

  • All you wanna be country singers need to get a big dose of this. The man in the shades and sittin under that hat is the real deal. He is paying tribute to the original outlaw and badass. RIP Waylon. I hate trying to find any good country music on the radio these days, it's impossible. Nashville needs to pull their head out of their ass and realize that there's not many real "country" singers left and they have turned their back on them.

  • Hank Jr paying tribute to his idol, his teacher...RIP Waylon Jennings, the greatest of ALL TIME!

  • WOW. Ole Bocephus is the real deal. Everyone of any music genre take lessons, schools in session. Rock on Hank!!!!!!

  • Has anyone posted Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way from this same show? Just Curious it was pretty damn good...long live ole Waylon.

  • I see where you wrote 'the eye of Wayland' above...do ya know it's 'Eyes of WAYLON' as in Waylon Jennings? A tribute after his passing.

  • this gr8 it brought a tear to this outlaws eye

  • I Love this!
