Most wheatens have a problem with jumping and dominance I just make my Annie sit before someone pets her and no sit no pet. If she gets up the petting stops she has learned pretty quickly.
my wheaten nipps too, but only when roughhousing. has a dominance issue though. mounts anything that moves and hasnt seen before.......any help with that? lol
May I ask what type of shaver and blade number do you use? We bought an expensive one with a #10 blade and it didn't work on my Wheaton mix thick fur. Thanks!
that is a problem with most puppies and especially wheatens. make sure she has a chew toy and i suggest a pinch type collar with a short (1ft or less) leash that you can use to correct her when she bites. say NO, pull the collar, then give her the chew toy and when she bites that praise her. the important thing is consistency, never let her bite you and do not play with her with your hands - always have a chew toy ready to give her. she will test your will, don't lose your cool - consistency
Mine doesnt seem to stop nipping and its getting very annoying had her 10 days and she is 10 weeks
I cans ure use some tips......I am blowing my cool and I thinks its beginnin g to affect her.....am I being too hard on her or will she calm down a bit?????
I have to clip my Sam every six months or he's a matted mess. I've tried every grooming comb/brush/detangler spray and still one day he starts matting up and I have to clip him. He will not sit for a groomer. Does anyone else have any good tips for wheaties?
Hrm.....I may just give the whole grooming thing a shot....u make it look so simple....not sure my wheaten would trust me with loud buzzing things....thanks great little video
i love how the other dog gets into it like "hey whats going on? whats this? why dont you shave me??" then jumping on the dog getting shaved to funny

We fould that the long hair `matts` into clumps. when he gets wet Thats why we shave hime with a schnauzer cut.
P.S. Always keep dog shampooéconditioner in the car if you frequent lakes and rivers alot.

Keep your Wheaten combed....that way you don't have to shave them. They are so much cuter when they're not shaved!

thanks for the comment - i have switched to a pair of japanese scissors for her cuts.

@chance1601 Yeah, but for us our dog is super hot in the summer so we shave her then. Her overall physical being and even temperament improves!

It is an Andis Pro Clipper and I use the 1/2" blade when her hair is long.

I'm with the back comment! Wow - get a grooming table, I finally did and it's the best thing. Too funny with the other dog budding in constantly! lol

Get your pooch good and drunk. I find Night Train works well with Wheatens, while cooking sherry is preferred by poodles and Labs.

if you put the dog a table while you shave his hair, you will be easier on your back... thanks for sharing!

My groomer tells me my Wheatie is the best one she's ever groomed but your sweetheart is amazing! What an angel!

That's a well-behaved dog. We've got a Wheaten, just coming up on 20 weeks. My family had a border terrier, I bet your pair are great pals.

Your dog is the best behaved "groomee" I've seen in a long time! You must have the "magic touch."

You make this look much easier than it is. I am amazed that your dog doesn't run away when you let go! Good job.
