  • awesome video, saw 4 or 5 i went to as a kid. One that stuck in my mind was Every Picture Tells a Story the 96 one on cup day eve (green flyer). That night basically started me on a journey I am still on 15 years later.....

  • Makes me feel nostalgic but then WTH cos at least I actually was there and got be involved in that life - that scene. Esoteric crap for a lot of it but Pure, yeah, good fiends, good times, good music, Pure enjoyment. Theres one place I would love to see the flyer for. For various reasons I can't even recall the name of it... Might have been flinders lane or next lane up on the corner. BLUE n RED lights only meant the music was good and there was no lollipops. Thanks for the kick!

  • just curious as to where you got the pictures at 26sec to 36sec from. blue laser , bart simpson and crowd shot.

nice to see my pictures being used .

  • @D3c3p not sure bro. possible itm or fb. was a while ago now. If you have more, would love to see them. respect.

  • It all started one Friday night at the back of the palace (Got burnt down in 2008 approx) St. Kilda. The night was called "Pure" & it was the first time I had seen the early form of the Melbourne Shuffle although it was never called that back then. This was way way back in 1995 or 1996. Thanks Mauritius Mike for taking me there. It changed my life for ever.

  • @shenlong1975 Pure was 91 Rear of the Palace 92 Queensbury Street 93 1 off reunion party at the back room palace later that year a night opened up called Out of Control by Kasey Taylor and Toby that closed and in 94, the final Pure parties were held. Boom Parties throughout late 91 and most of 92 & 93 94 were also put on by the Pure crew, AKA Mark James. there is no doubting it the so called shuffle started in that room of the palace, by 93 alot of people were dancing this way. BAKOFDAPAL

  • That was fucken amazing. Oliver Lieb, Cosmic Baby, Every Picture, Bezerk, Acid Rain, Hardware. Fuck me, Quasar! . That's where it all began for me. Sektor3, Pure, Filter. sweet! Thanks for the memories

  • I put everything else on hold, when these parties were happening. Munster Terrace, Global Village, Queensberry Street, Albert Park.....sigh

  • If you didn't 'do' the car park at Pure you missed out!! Lol!! Great memories there.

  • @1971mlm ...awhhh pure...that makes me smile

  • @fuktheworld1 hmm true about accessibility of anime/manga: anime wasnt really much of a industry outside of japan untill the l8 90s early 00s. I suppose its just association, to them it looks bad ass to me it just reminds me of some very unsavory senarios involving barely legal teens and voyeuristic tentacles >_O. guess it all depends on how much exposure u have had to the orginal content....

  • @Fuktheworld1 huh.. yea I suppose that sounds right.. around the period where jungle started to tilt towards a tech steppy sorta vibe as dnb (correct me if I am wrong.. ) best way to explain it is sorta like how Rupert Parke went from the transition as he old moniker aquarius (stuff like drift to the centre and dolphin tune) to photek (i.e. modus operandi) I can see the need of advertising the events as "dark" suppose just surprised they used urotsukidoji(look upat ur own risk.. SERIOUSLY NSFW)

  • i wEEshh couldve been able to go these rAavess backk in thEE dayss.

    i was like siXx.

  • while I love all the posters here... (gonna open the doors of my hidden closet nerd here with a big nerdy rant not so much at the person who put this vid up but at the person who made this poster) @ 1:32 why the hell would u use the overfiend from one of the most infamously Lewd and down right nasty animes of all time as a poster? not so much angry, (Hell It aint that funny but I was laughing for a good 30 secs) but just... wow.. random.. anyway beside that, awsome vid m8 blast from the past =D

  • Damn and I thought that I'd saved a decent amount of fliers...

So Many Mad Memories, gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.

To anyone with actual footage....PLEASE UPLOAD IT.

Never get tired of remembering good times.

    ...the greatest times.

  • Thank you for uploading these, such great memories. I too have a stack of them which I still haven't scanned. This is an excellent selection here. My favorite is the yellow Flotation ticket. "A Shipboard Rave", which was followed by the first after party at Spiritual Soup in Flinders lane, almost directly underneath Transit Police headquaters!! That was one crazy outing :D

  • Awesome :)

I still have most of these too, been meaning to scan them in one day... And upload all my old video footage.. It's a work in progress. Haha :D

Thanks man, brought back many memories!

  • Awesome!! That really brought back memories. I still have a whole collection of flyers from that era, some that you appear to be missing =P

toglusid: fuck yeah! Global Village was more than special, it was home

  • Thanks, love the work. Cosmic Baby 1993. That party changed a lot of lives, mine included. Global Village was special.

  • Great to see Hardware and Every Picture in there! Fucking Awesome!

  • Sure does bring back memories, would be happy to complete this collection, have saved hundreds of flyers from 90/91 onwards. Cheers uploader for trip in memo lane @=)
