I was there at this reading with my wife. It was great to hear Carroll's story (really, the opening chapter of his most recent novel, Glass Soup) read in his own voice, which was much more New York than I expected after his stay in California and his long residence in Vienna. He comes so seldom to the US you need to see him whenever you get the chance.
