for your information: the desert does not have palm trees. the light reflecting off of the desert sand would make the sky a different tint. there are never any public events around area 51 because the local area is so isolated.

I think the 2nd one gives the game away. It looks like nothing else but a helium balloon with a lamp stuck to it. Which makes it easy to identify the first flying object as a solar balloon in a quite nice shape.
