Beautiful work, Tom. One question...what was all that black stuff you piled on the underside of the deck and why? I didn't quite have that part figured out as I was watching the vid
Sorry if it took so long for me to reply.... I just noticed your question, The black stuff is wet sand. It aplies pressure on the putty and carbon fibre underneath to mold without bubbles the waterproof seals.
This vid will help be start working on my NIght Heron stripper, a long overdue project. Thanks for posting. The Strip NH will be my 6th completed project. Got a few others in waiting. ;)
I just got the plans for the same boat that you built. I can't wait to get started on mine. Thanks for posting this video. I'm sure I'll be watching it over and over until I finish mine.
Yah mon! Can hardly stand it. I'm so busy at the moment. I can't start the boat just yet, but I did go ahead and built myself a paddle made of purpleheart and redwood. Looks so good, I'll have to use the same wood on my boat somehow...
It's Bill and Tracy, the other Cape Ann Storm builders under One Ocean Kayak Construction. I'm glad one of us has been paddling. We've been on a marathon since mid May. We're about half way through the glassing and shooting for the end of June as a first float date. These are good looking boats, can't wait for them to see water. That's good looking water in your paddle shots, where is that?
nice to se that you guys are coming close to the end...i live in British colombia ,so there is a lot of padelling around but on the pics i'm on harrison lake(very big lake) ...looking foward to see your next video:)
