  • @Lvlyntvblkbutterfly Right on! ADULT SKATE!

  • Thanks for the info guys. I'm pretty new to this style of music, although I did listen to Daft Punk and Modjo in the late 90s/early millenium.

  • @psychofred2 The common denominator present in the music from this time period (funk, soul, disco, house, hip hop, new wave, etc.) is actually the german group Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk is the original creator of all these funky beats, baselines and rhythms. Kraftwerk is the creator of electronic music. Kraftwerk is even still relevant to this day. If it wasn't for Kraftwerk, electronic music as we know it would not exist.

  • @jhchouston ehm

  • @psychofred2 Here is another example of how Kraftwerk is used in different genre's: the baseline in this song is also heard in the song 'Another One Bites the Dust' by Queen, a rock-n-roll song from 1980.

  • @jhchouston i used to play in the past these bassline and i found they were very different

  • @ItalianTiger955i Oh, okay. Well, I did make the comment as a fan and not someone who has ever played anything more than chopsticks on a piano. I took Listening to Music 101 and 102 in college (for cultural studies credit), but that's about the extent of any musical background.I have, LOL!. Whoops. Plz excuse my ignorance. Cheers :)

  • @jhchouston no excuses needed - you do not have to excuse; instead, excuse me If I was too aggressive. Ciao!

  • ALL SHOOT NOW!

  • THE 18 IDIOTS THAT GAVE THIS SONG A THUMBS DOWN. HAVE NO IDEA WHAT MUSIC IS... THIS IS MUSIC! Memories growing up In CORONA QUEENS & THE SOUTH BRONX! THANK YOU!

  • Whoop there it is? DAYYUUMMM!!!

  • 30 yr old party tune, I still play it, people still LOVE IT!!! It's a classic. Will always be a JAM

@psychofred2 The song from Cappricio, everybody get up is NOT ORIGINAL, it was bit off a Boogie tune (also House music)

    Jazzy Dee- Get On Up.

  • Comment removed

  • This sounds a lot like Cappricio (Everybody Get Up). The 70s/80s Disco must have had a lot in common with French House music. Were their house parties in the 70s?

  • @psychofred2 All house music came from disco. As a matter of fact , in Chicago ( where I'm from) The term "HOUSE MUSIC" was the music from the 70s&80s before anyone knew of house music. Later in the early 80s when tracks came out (the "new" house) House music (disco funk soul) became known as Deep House! Again, before House music was known. Even before Chicago mainstream knew about House music. it was kept underground until mid eighties, then the term House music reached NY and other cities.

  • Starbucks...NYC 1986

  • not the kano i was looking for but deep tune nonetheless...

  • Damn this shit goes hard..

  • it sold millions all over the world and every synth player for ever more emulated their sound, including hip hop, new wave, free style, you still can't get fat fresh sounds like this. B boys and B girls break danced and free styled to it.

  • kids DONT TRY THIS AT HOME !

  • Publicservant2009,I do remember what you were talking about ROLLER DISCO! When I was age 15-16 and a few times when I was in the Marine Corps at age 20,I went roller-skating and they were playing this cut. This jam is the sh*% baby.I believe I have this on CD.I used to love listening to it as I was cruising down the road. Campbelbe,I'm feeling you on trying to re-live those days of this music.Clubbing isn't as safe as it was back in the 70's and the 80's.I never want to let those days go either.

  • I had nooooo idea these guys were Italian! I grew up listening to this in the 'hood! Awesome!

  • people! do u all remember the roller disco's?????????? : ) close ur eyes and just imagine goin round and round with the disco ball reflecting all along the walls of the roller disco, and the strobe lights and colored lights... the dj tower in the center of the rink.... cathing the eye of that girl or guy and waiting to pass them by again showin off ur dance skating moves..... haaaa yes we can still live it! ( and hey! check out my video too!)

  • whoop there it is

  • I remember this song from the year 1980. I was 12 years old. With all due respect to the Rolling Stones with Mick Jagger ( whom are one of my favorite rock bands for a black man( no racism intended at all. I do like them alot.), brown sugar is one of my favorite hits from them. In the 1981 movie Night Hawks with Sylvester Stallone(Deke DaSilva) and Billy De Williams (Det. Fox), this song( I'M Ready-by Kano) should have been the disco dance floor scene when they discovered Wolfgar.

  • WATTS THEME SONG !!!

  • Boston - Block parties in the schoolyards, Almont Park, Norfolk Park, Thetford Park, Academy Homes, etc..... Man!! This was the JAM!!!! You could hear the block party from 16 blocks away. Incredible times! Incredible music!

  • This song gives me chills all over! I Love it!

  • @MrSkipchat isnt it crazy Skip...this song is like a mental time machine,

  • This song is all time love. Pure love.

    What a jam!!

  • Non-stop partying. When you went to club back in those days it was all about getting down with the git down. No time for standing against the wall or standing on the side line. It was all about working up a sweat......a non-stop party for real!!! Hot pants, mini-skirts, halter tops, and shaking your booty. Those were the days. I am still trying to live them to this very day. Never ever want to let them go. It was so much fun.

  • @campbelpe I'm with You ! : )

  • @campbelpe: You summed it up perfectly! That's EXACTLY how I feel!

  • @campbelpe Yep, I'm feelin ya.

  • @campbelpe u bet it was!

Seeing I was born in the wrong generation. I think its just stupid how hip hop flushes out this type of funk/dance synth rock. I am more into that funk/dance synth rock than I am into immorally sexualized hip hop, even if hip hop was an extention to funk in the first place (by sampling) (e.g. Whoomp! There It Is sampled this track).

  • @campbelpe Hello my friend,-I know exactly what you mean, but you can't replicate those past times(unfortunatly). The harder you try, the more dissapointed you will get. be thankful for those days & memories, nobody can't take them away from you. Cheers from germany..

  • THIS SONG WAS GREAT.

  • Classic on top of classics!

  • Dance, Dance, Dance, Party, Party, Party, having a good time in Charlie Towne (SC). Can You Dig It!!!! Dang Right Dawg.

    JC

  • Yes in deed...Circus Disco Los Angeles...we had a time back in the day

  • I was working in GREENSBORO NC at the Trevi Fountain in 1980 when my man handed me this cut. OMG. It blew up the spot that night. A&T Aggies and Cold Steel rock forever. Scott Hall room 2101,... If those walls could talk

  • Another great electronic-disco song from the early 80s. So many young people post comments on how 2000s dance music pales greatly in comparison to the 70s/80s - I'm glad they recognize this, because it does ! The social situations of those days along with the arrival of new electronics gave all those artists the hunger and passion to experiment, and out of that came great art and innovation !! We don't seem to have that today, it's already done. Today's sound has gone on TOO long !!!!

  • Does anyone remember how they would blow this joint up at the "Inferno" nightclub in Gainsville, Fla. back in 80's?

  • Today's electropop pales in comparison to this music. It fails to catch the essence of funk that American & Italo disco had back in the day.

  • No wonder Tag Team, stole the beat of this song for "WHOOP THERE IT IS". This was original and not none of this Gangster rap sh*#,where too many of these punks are stilling other bands rythym's,just so they can prosper. IT'S B.S. They need to use their own beats and rythyms and for the most part, some of them are too unintelligent or dumb to make up their own beats.

  • I wish this music sitll existed. This was the jam. I remember it like yesterdays news because, they played it at our High School pep-rallies. When they introduced the players on all of our sports teams, they used to play this song and to this date I love it. I was one of the people running out onto to the gym floor, when they introduced the players on the teams. This song has a great beat,it reminds me of when I used to come home on leave from the Marines and cruise around in my old 79 T-BIRD.

  • AFTER ALL THIS TIME..............I FINALLY FOUND THIS TRACK! Now I know the title and the name of this artist who does it! Is this from 1982, 1983, 1984?? Ah, when I was in elementary school!

  • @thesiouxgoddess

The song "I'm Ready" was release as a single in the fall of 1980.

  • Comment removed

Company 1st bn. 9th Marines 1981-1983.

  • used to party to this song! reminds me of the house parties back in the dayz....

  • The 15 people that gave this a thumbs down must've not been ready to hear such a bad azz old school jam.....so they hit the thumbs down by mistake.

  • @MzSunnyJeep They didn't know this song cultivated part of a culture, that's all. lol

  • @MzSunnyJeep - The skating rink usta be PA C K E D on the floor when this came on. Even today when they play a blast from the past, the new generation STILL grooves the that N A S T Y baseline")
