Although people in Ohio and Pennsylvania might not agree with that, NAFTA is going to be great for the US, Mexican, and Canadian economy in the long run. That's why we did it. "Free trade agreement" got the ball rolling in 88, which is a seperate pact between US and Canada; who have been trade partners for most of the 20th century. Guess who was invited? CTV. The same news organization that falsely reported about Obama's connection to NAFTA-gate, when it should have been about Clinton.

Actually it was a Clinton staffer who assured Canadians that she wouldn't touch NAFTA. The American media got the story wrong. Canadian Prime Minister's Chief of staff Ian Brodie said this about Clinton and NAFTA " "someone from (Hillary) Clinton's campaign is telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt ... That someone called us and told us not to worry."

The Democrats in Congress voted for the war and they and Obama continue to fund it each and every time. The Democrats are not for withdrawing anytime soon. Clinton is the one who signed NAFTA, and sent the American jobs packing.
If it came down to McCain and Obama, I'd vote for McCain. At least he's up-front and honest about what he's going to do.

I think it's a great thing that neither Obama nor Hillary want to end free trade with Canada and Mexico. Although people in Ohio and Pennsylvania might not agree with that, NAFTA is going to be great for the US, Mexican, and Canadian economy in the long run. That's why we did it. I question the judgment of any politician who thinks otherwise.

Okay, so now since the Canadian government has said that a mistake was made; that it was really Hillary Clinton's campaign who contacted them, why isn't there a correction on this video? The dumb jackass, Tom Clark (in the video), is the very reporter who got the story crossed. Canada has denied this and backed Sen. Obama. They refused to back Hillary Clinton's denial knowing that she actually did it. In fact, Bill Clinton was in Canada only days before this story broke. 1+1=Clintons did it.

When the *fabricated* memo *accidently* leaked, a CRIME was committed. It did a lot of damage to Canada-US relations. The PMO is not going to cause more problems by saying Clinton reassured them first.
Ian Brodie (PM top aide) does not deny his Clinton comments, only that he *does not remember*.
When CTV reporters heard Brodie's Clinton comments they decided to further investigate. But for some reason they story turned into a *smear* against Obama.
Somebody was trying to protect Clinton.

The greatest defense in court is the "I don't remember" defense because it technically is not purgery.
Ian Brodie, the PM's top aide, has not denied making the comments, but only says he does not remember through a spokeswomen for the PM.
If Ian outright denies making those comments, and evidence surfaces to contradict him, he'll be fired, lose his reputation, possibly face pergury charges, and the PM will be humiliated.
So, saying "I don't remember" is the best defense at the moment.

If Canadian officials really had sincere diplomatic intentions, they would reach out to both Obama and Hillary camp for reassurances about NAFTA.
It is just absurd that Canada would only *reach out* to Obama, unless they believed Hillary had no chance of winning at all. But given Bill Clinton's close ties to Canadian officials and businesses (Bill's concubine is a Canadian politician and he made a lot of money from a Canadian mine deal), it is unlikely that Hillary did not reassure Canada.

Of course, this is too late because the damage has already been done in Ohio. Many leaders inside the Canadian government have accused the conservative prime minister of leaking misleading documents in an effort to help defeat Obama.

I've believed it was Obama's camp that called Canada and I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong, if indeed I am. But since there's as much credibility in the latest "it was actually Hillary's camp" claim as in the orginal "it was Obama's camp" claim I really couldn't care less and I suppose I should reveal how I truly feel about this. "Opting out of NAFTA" will do nothing to save the slumping economy in manufacturing. "Free trade agreement" got the ball rolling in 88, which is a seperate pact between US and Canada; who have been trade partners for most of the 20th century. NAFTA was the agreement that merged Can./U.S./Mex. in an open boarder trade agreement. Everyone left NorthAM to go south by 94, where Mex workers made 1.50$US/hour. Kill NAFTA; it's all made in CHINA now anyway.

NAFTA allowed for open trade between US/Mexico/Canada, and look what it got? Shit made in COMMUNIST CHINA! At least in the 80's Hong Kong was a free state who traded with North America under a Brit/US agreement. However, look at who sold US manufacturing out; BOATS FROM CHINA PORT IN CALIFORNIA and VANCOUVER.
