it means that they're all a separate piece of one thing that happens. like they each individually play a part, cause and effect, as something happens. the guy picks up the ladder, knocks out the groceries, the dog goes to see whats there for him, the dude trips over the leash, and the black chick is like "are u cool dude?" they're all in the same space and its all happening at once, but by the end the dude on the staircase confirms that everything happens separately, as he sees each thing happen
