  • I, too, believe that Edie may have a long way to go but the most important thing is she is on her way to full recovery with the love of her new owner. She will most likely get over her initial terror eventually. Kudos for saving a dog and finding her someone who will truly care for her.

  • It was Edie's new adoptive owner who called Eldad to evaluate the dog. She wanted to adopt him but Edie was supposed to have been put down in an hour because no one could hold her. It was necessary to get her to approach a human. If they had waited, Edie would have died in an hour not knowing anything but terror. Now she is in a home interacting with her new owner.

  • I cried.. I have 3 rescues and I wish I could do more for these creatures. Edie you are a beautiful dog with fur or none.

  • The dog is scared to death, and this stupid prick throws a leash on it, then drags it out? I feel sorry for the dog just from the treatment it's receiving during this "rescue"! If a dog is that scared, then grab a book and sit in the same room until it gets used to you. Terrorizing it with a leash isn't doing the dog any good! Wait for it and you'll have a friend for life.

  • @phaedrusalt She was defecating on herself and was about to be euthanised. He restrained the dog so he could move it without it hurting itself or him. It obviously worked because in the rest of the video she is a lot happier and calmer. Don't be quick to judge when you have not worked with this animal yourself.

  • @Froncentrate The dog was defecating on herself AFTER he put a leash on an obviously terrified animal. She isn't calmer after, she's meek, cowed, not calm... Now she's learned (Once again, from her actions) that people will abuse her, do what they want with her, and she'll probably never be able to fully trust again. Like a rape victim, the only answer with animals like this is time and trust. This idiot gave neither, and will receive neither.

  • @phaedrusalt You obviously haven't seen the video of her being adopted. She does look like she has given up almost, but she learns to enjoy the love he is giving her. She is seen rolling around, looking happy. Open your mind, this guy has saved a LOT of animals that would otherwise have died or been killed. Learn a little.

  • @Froncentrate Let's hope that, should you find yourself beaten down, abused, friendless, alone, that someone comes along with more compassion than this jerk. Let's hope that your savior doesn't feel the need to put a rope around your neck and drag you out. Open your mind, this guy has saved a lot of animals by giving them a place at the bottom of the food chain! Open your mind, this dog is acting happy because she has accepted her place as the "omega" dog, as low as a dog can be. It's sad.

  • @phaedrusalt He helped rehomed them with caring people who actually love and take care of them. I don't see what the problem is. Do you not like the idea of these animals being adopted or something? What should we do, just release them back onto the streets of Los Angeles so they don't have to be subservient to a filthy human? Get over yourself.

  • @Froncentrate Doing the job correctly might have only taken a few minutes, instead of further emotionally scarring the animal. He chose to do it quickly, and incorrectly. The animal is adopted, but it could take years to get over the additional trauma. Get over yourself, this is the wrong way to treat anything.

  • @phaedrusalt Obviously you're such an expert on anything to do with animals. Let's just stop praising eldad75 and look to YOU for advice! I bet you've saved hundreds of animals! We should all follow your example because you know absolutely everything there is to know despite having no direct experience with this particular case at all. :) Sure, whatever you say. Hilarious.

  • @Froncentrate You don't need to be an expert to know when a baby is being beaten, or when an animal is being abused. But you ~do~ have to open your eyes, and understand the situation from their standpoint. Something that you, sadly, don't seem able to do.

  • Seeing that poor little dog so terrified made me want to cry... You're an amazing man. The world needs more people like you in it.

  • Perhaps the most touching thing I've seen on YouTube in a while.

  • yup dog is really a sweet animal, dog do have feeling just like us, and the best part about them is that they forgive and forget those people who abuse them... we need more people to project these animal from abuser!

  • this made me cry. i have a maltese and shes the sweetest dog ever. it breaks my heart to see one sad.

  • il sont fou c'est Roman!

  • my mom watched this and cried

  • Its funny really... i can watch anything without crying, except for dogs and other animals that get in theese situations. You really inspire me to help and do everything i can support animals that have gone into trouble.

  • i got my cat from lancaster. she was sch to be pts the day b4, but the woman who took their pics begged another day, and on that day i waited to make sure gidget (formerly known there as miss stash) was rescued. i am on fb network of rescuers. sometimes i get your posts...

  • Youre a hero honestly :D she just needed love and she was so calm

  • @DayDay3098 She was calm because she was shut down and dissociated. That is NOT calm. That is cruel.

  • God..... they act soo calm after you pet them..... it's like they ''got a break'' from pain and violence....

  • poor dog! You are so great to rescue the dogs!

  • @tiyenin - while you're busy printscreening to send to the grand jury, make sure you include your own voluntary statement that you are willing to risk the life, health, and safety of your own child.

when WILL ppl learn not to say stupid stuff on the internet - i seriously hope you don't honestly think that "interweb" is an actual term because that'd make you even more stupid than you already look.

  • one look at that little scrap of dreadlocked fluff in the carrier could tell anyone who's worked with dogs that it's not vicious or dangerous, just in severe pain from matting and nearly mindless with fear.

  • .... i'm completely baffled. the toronto humane society had a waiting list of something like six YEARS for small dogs while in some parts of the states my friend told me they have absolutely no use for little dogs and only want the big ones - what is wrong with that shelter that it can't be bothered to pick up a freakin' phone and have unwanted dogs transported to areas where there's a demand!?

  • OMG that poor sweet baby. I can't and don't want to imagine what this innocent creature went through that she was so scared of humans. thank god for people like you!

  • Poor Edie was so terrified. When she was cuddled I cried, I would have loved to cuddle her myself. Such a sweet dog under all that fur. God bless you all for looking after her. So glad she's got a loving home. Please if you can, keep us updated on her progress. You are amazing people xx

  • I can't even imagine what this poor pup would have had to go through to elicit such a frightened initial response. I'm glad she's found her forever home.

  • damn i cried

  • This is SOO INSPIRING. I'm gonna let my child hug feral dogs in the street now because love conquers rabies, and wishful thinking that all dogs have good souls will make God prevent my fingers from being bitten off! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!

  • @tiyenin No where in this video is that mentioned or encouraged, but for a bitter little cunt like yourself who gladly goes out his way to see ugliness in everything.

I have a suggestion, just refrain from doing so. It's really that simple. If you find your incapable of doing so, either get some professional help or consider if need be suicide as a last resort. It doesn't sound like your happy with your lot in life and either solution as mentioned above will end your pain.

  • @Vengeance31 Print screened. Thanks for giving a grand jury just cause to charge you for aiding and abetting, accessory before the fact, manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, and/or homicide in case I do kill myself. Hope you didn't attach a real email to your youtube account.

When will the idiots learn not to say dumb shit on the interwebs?

  • @tiyenin Hurry up, your wasting everyone's time.

  • @tiyenin So because the dog was out on the streets it shouldn't deserve a second chance? I sincerely hope you never work around homeless people or orphaned kids as I fear you may do the same to them. I also love how you already assume that eldad is just a random person on the street and not someone who has been doing this for a long time and knows what to look for. Next time, maybe you should think before you comment.

  • @90sfanforever It isn't about the dog being abandoned. It is about mistreatment being justified because the dog is still breathing. Imagine that you took a person off the street, frightened them until they lost bodily control and justified it because the person was no longer on the streets. What was done to this dog was wrong!

  • You are absolutly amazing and i thank you for everything you do for our animals. Thank you so much!!!

  • Sooooooo awesome! :)

  • I've wanted to be a vet since I was four, but I think I've just found my calling in life! :)

  • you all done good! god bless these dogs!

  • I work with dogs all day, every day, and Edie's little screams just broke my heart into so many pieces. What she went through we'll never really know, but that she had all that love in her just waiting to come out. So many gentle souls have been killed because they were misunderstood. I have sent this to everyone I know. It's beautiful and so are you all who worked to save her and so many others. Please let me know if I can ever help you.

  • Is she a Coton de Tulear ? I have one and I love that breed! This video makes me happy, because you saved that poor little thing from death :) <3

  • Heard that the aspca is trying to push through a bill in NY. The Quick Kill bill would allow them to euthanize any dog or cat as soon as it entered the "shelter" if seemingly stressed. Not only would dogs be killed when owners are genuinely searching for them but dogs like Edie would never get a second chance. Thank goodness for rescuers like you.

  • Thank you to all who cared enough to save her. Save a life, Opt to Adopt.

  • everytime I watch this video I cry , thank You so much for Your work, voted and donated! love You Guys!!!

  • Eldad - your my super hero, what you do is amazing, allowing us all the privilege to share in your world, and experience your love and connection with animals. Keep doing what your doing, your changing dog rescue world.

  • God Bless you and the others who have helped these abused animals ((((;

  • to overwhelming to watch. i nearly cried watching this. Just to think they were going to put him down and he was soo scared too. Thank god he was saved by human. People who put animals down for no reason are not humans they are monsters to me.

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a follow up! I think this story has touched all of our lives.

  • Hi eldad, saw your dog rescue clips and know you need donations help to rescue more dogs. I saw that almost all of your clips if not all were recorded by camera of some brand, maybe you can try to link up with a camera-product company to finance your dog rescue while in the process their camera is being advertised and marketed, though this may probably sidetrack the main motive of you uploading all this dog-rescue clips. I do hope this idea can help you tremendously, sincerely from Singapore.

  • was that the first time he was ever leashed and thats why he reacted like that? just curious. Also, you have a great gift with animals, its such a rarity to see people being able to(perhaps its the wrong word) "bond" with animals so quickly. im glad your putting it good use :)

  • I think you are doing a wonderful dog with rescuing all these dogs! This poor mite was incredibly stressed right from the get go. I wonder if you have considered trying using the clicker to shape calmer behaviour? That is, leave the dog in the crate and c/t for any calm behaviour you see, such as not making sounds, using calming signals etc.

  • @supernaturalbc2009 If the dog can eat, you can work with them. If not, they are too stressed and not time to adjust to the situation. You'll likely find that they dogs come around just as quickly, if not more so, and you'll gain their trust more quickly. I know of a trainer who used this when an aggressive (fearful) giant schnauzer was shipped to her and it was crated snarling in her living room. The dog quickly came around and started offering behaviours (experimenting with what was rewarded.

  • @supernaturalbc2009 Well put! Torturing this dog was unnecessary and cruel. They could have chosen to work with the dog below threshold and gotten where they wanted to be withhout causing the dog this amount of stress. Too few people want to take the long road this might mean, and rather watch dogs in distress in the name of love. It is a tragedy. I have worked with thousands of dogs over the years and I know from experience-this was NOT humane or necessary.

  • @suenestnature you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. so shut it. your comments are just painful to read.

  • @damols Do you really think so? I found it sickening to watch the torture this little dog went through in the name of helping her. They didn't have to do that. They could have opened the crate and waited. Dragging her towards someone she was afraid of is torture. But this torture is supported because they have engaged in the fallacy that the ends justifies the means. It doesn't. I do know what I am talking about; I work with fearful and difficult dogs every day. Visit my blog.

  • @suenestnature ok, then I'm glad I'm not a dog found by you....how can you call this torture?? don't you see her in the end`? does that look like a tortured dog to you?

YES, she's afraid and screaming once he grabs her...you don't seem to know a lot about animals. I grew up with all kinds of animals and you have to have the right spirit and brain to understand. nuff said. this is nothing but pure love.

  • This made me cry three times im a very loving animal person why was the dog so scared in the begging

  • Those who say this dog would be better off dead are wrong. While there are fates worse than death, this dog was saved from dying scared and alone. The dog will instead lead a much more full and fulfilling life, because the aggressive behavior has been eliminated and Edie is able to live in a home with people who will love her, and whom she will love back. Every fate ends in death, but Edie's was changed to a much happier story.

And seeing the update, she's adorable!

  • this is amazing ! that is such a great thing for you to do! I wish all animals could be saved like this you amaze me!!!!!!!

  • I am so touched by this that i cry everytime

  • after watching this i instantly gave my dog a cuddle!!!

  • Beautiful. NO animals ever deserve to be put to death, or encaged, or swatted. If you gently love them, they will gently love you. <3 <3 <3

  • At 2:34...The woman who says " Aww baby". That caps it for me.!!

  • This is the best video. I love how she kisses your arm, once she's in your lap, and how she rolls around on the blanket right after her haircut. Edie's a beautiful doggy.

  • This is a beautiful, eye-opening video! Thank you for sharing it!!

  • 56 need euthanasia

  • how could you dislike this video..

  • @punkprincess751 Are you saying you enjoy seeing a dog overwhelmed and losing control over their bowels and bladder? That is fun for you? That is NOT fun for the dog.

  • @suenestnature if you cant understand what I'm trying to say... Don't comment.I do more for animals than you would ever be able to.

  • @punkprincess751 I understand what you are saying. You are saying that torture is okay if it saves a life. I comment because I want people to be aware that torture is NOT justified. I have been getting threats in my email box over this thread because I stood up and said something, so as long as people keep that going, I will keep pounding out the message. This was wrong. I dislike this video because this was the wrong way to help. What do you do that is more than I do?

  • The people who made this poor critter this way need to b choke-collared until they make the same sounds this poor critter does when she sees the collar.

What kind of fucking monster turns an animal into something like this? She knew what pain might be coming, she was using her paw to try and relieve the pressure on her neck.

For every dog like this that is rescued, there are dozens who never are and live a life that creates this kind of damage.

Just help when you can. At least try.

  • @acejackson42 This individual put that leash on the dog in the safest way he could for both him and the animal. This dog clearly has had no prior leash training and if it has, it was filled with negative experiences. Jesus, not every animal video on youtube is animal abuse. Get your head out of your rear end. These people are doing a wonderful service for animals and to call them "monsters" is incredibly ignorant of you seeing as you don't know the situation this dog was in prior to rescue.

  • Just goes to show what a simple hug can do! :)

  • I love dogs, and anyone who beats them or screws with them emotionally or mentally deserves death.

  • dam u guys have amazing hearts its hard to find these days keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen :)

  • 55 people need a hug.

  • I saw this video on God vine, and was hoping to find a site with more info on where she ended up! I was so happy to find it here, and that she found her forever home, and is doing great! She looks like such a sweet girl! *I could tell, she would be find with how quickly she responded to touch once brought close to someone! Great work to the person who fostered her and to those who saved her, and gave her a chance!

  • Great story, love dogs hate abuse.

  • God bless this dog!

  • @suenestnature Trolololol

  • @suenestnature Sue, I rescued Edie, worked with her in agility and I fostered her and found her the forever home and she never showed this response again. Never. She actually didn't need 're hab.' She was beyond perfect from this moment on. Eldad needed to get her out of the corner and what he did worked for her. We work on our toes with only the best intentions. There was no way this dog was better off dead - NO WAY.

  • @smlcmss One of the difficulties about the work that you and I do is that not everyone is going to agree with how you operate and what you do. I disagree with what you did. If I had seen her in the shelter, I would likely not have pulled her. That is a LOT of fear to ask an animal to live with and through. And if I did take her, I would not have flooded her. There are methods to avoid this. Perhaps this will prompt you to learn a little more, and not do this to the dogs you rescue

  • @suenestnature and so because YOU wrote a blog means that it means anything to the rest of us. No, however if you would care to scan your certificate in Canine Psychology then I apologize. Until then, however, you don't know.

  • @codeecatastrophee You can actually look up my credentials with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants and with the Counsel for the Certification of Professional Dog Trainers. My name is Sue Alexander. Canine Psychology is a made up term, that is used by some celebrity trainers to make themselves look like they have education that they do not. I am relatively well known in the world of dog behaviour consulting, and easy to look up. I hope you do.

  • @suenestnature me thinks the lady doth protest too much

  • @suenestnature Excuse me, no, he did not need to die, he needed love and compassion.

Would you euthanize an abused child because she was left with emotional scars and peed herself when a man approached her?

  • @lucy0loves0music No-but I would not say that a man should rescue a child who is afraid of men. They chose the worst possible way to help this dog. They could have chosen kindness, but instead, they chose to further traumatize the dog. If I were working with a kid who was abused by a man, I would choose a woman to work with her and allow her to come out slowly. I keep hearing that they had limited time; not true. The dog was no longer in the shelter when this video was taken.

  • @suenestnature PETA much?

  • @suenestnature I hope you get free of your insufferable attitude sometime soon, and by a dog that you would rather kill then rehab. Bitch.

  • @suenestnature You dont sound qualified to make such statements when your quick to give up on anyone or anything. Rehab is supposed to be stressful to all animals (including humans) helping them transition, mentally & physically, from bad to good. I have watched almost every video Eldad has on his YT site & have complete faith that everything I saw was done with absolute respect and love for the animal. I hope you revisit your outlook on things; its really disturbing.

  • @jaydawg34 I actually am very well qualified to make statements. That is what my formal education is involved with. Rehab should never be so stressful to the animal that they lose control of their bladder and bowels. If they had wanted to actually work below threshold, there would have been ways to do so. The people may have felt they were being respectful but from where I sit, any treatment that causes the level of trauma that this did, is not. Sadly, you just don't understand.

  • @suenestnature you are sick i think YOU should be euthanized so that you wont have to suffer from being evil

  • @jesusfreak

It doesn't matter what the humans' intent was.

What matters is the dog's experience. If the dog is so scared that it's eliminating prior to contact, then it's unethical treatment of an animal.

  • @42ninjacat Except the dog doesn't have the reasoning ability to understand that these people want to save her life. So she can be scared and poop herself, and move on to have a good life, or she can be dead.

I choose that she has a good life. Shame on you. The dog's ~experience~ doesn't trump a human being that knows what is best for her.

  • @saintcheney Knowing what is best doesn't trump being humane. They didn't have to frighten her. They could have chosen to work slowly and avoid further traumatizing her. They chose instead to go as fast as they wanted and cause her to lose control over her bladder and bowels. That is just wrong.

  • @suenestnature it wasn't meant to frighten her. it was meant to see if she would live or not. don't always think negatively!

  • @jesusfreak951321 Intent isn't enough. Those of us who work with these dogs know that this form of handling and flooding is unecessary. I am not thinking negatively; I am aware that the treatment may be worse than the cure.

  • @suenestnature Really? I usually don't feed you stupid trolls but the dog did not defecate before contact. "Strangulation device?" I'm sorry for whatever whomever did to you but it's called a leash. They are used for safety. Though somehow I don't expect you to grasp any of this at all. Exactly where do people like you come from? Are you summering in your own ass?

  • @suenestnature get a grip. they used it to stop the dog getting more and more stressed the sooner she could be brought under control the better for all concerned, people have been using leads for thousands of years, would you rather dogs ran free everywhere.these people saved this dog from being put to sleep, why would they possibly want to harm it

  • @garrychelsea They used the lead to correct the mistake they had already made and that was to have a dog that was semi ok in a closed in environment into a large and very scary place. A far more humane. quick and safe way to get that dog out of the corner where it was would have been to throw a thick blanket over it and pick it up. Clearly the dog when picked up goes into total shutdown not aggression. A certified behaviourist could have picked that easily.

  • @elitepetpaws A certified behaviorist wasn't at the shelter that day. Where is the expert when you need them?

  • @smlcmss that is a very good question. I am a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant and a Certified Behaviour Consultant Canine-Knowledge Assessed. My name is Sue Alexander. I offered my services, for free, to the local shelter and they didn't even respond to my letter. As long as dogs come out of the shelter and end up in my program, I am there eventually, but I am not in the shelter where I could make the biggest difference.

  • @elitepetpaws Well put!

  • @garrychelsea I will take your response as a serious question. They don't WANT to harm the dog, but they either don't understand what they are doing, or they feel that any amount of harm to the dog is justified in the name of preventing death. I disagree with them. I feel that this is abusive to the dog, and not justified. If you feel that this dog MUST be saved then you must never put the dog under that degree of distress. Likely, they just didn't understand.

  • @suenestnature I would agree with you regarding flooding and all that but they simply wouldn't have had time to work with this dog in a more humane fashion before she was euthanized.:( I always prefer counter conditioning and desensitization even though it often takes longer...but if you genuinely don't have longer...

  • @Canislupess I work with these types of dogs often and there was plenty of better ways of getting that dog out of that crate without resorting to using a lead that was strangling her and clearly terrifying her. This dog should have had light sedation for the grooming. It is intersting that none of what happened during the grooming was filmed. Dogs that react this way to a lead don't need to have a lead attached.

  • @elitepetpaws He didn't use the leash to pull at the dog...the dog simply panicked anyway...he only pulled her out of the corner because she defecated...she jumped onto his lap on her own...he didn't pull her onto his lap....she chose to stay on his lap....this video has been discussed with other reward based trainers and rescue people against flooding elsewhere and they all agree this wasn't inappropriate for the circumstances.

  • @Canislupess It isn't how I would have proceeded. I think they could have waited her out and kept her below threshold.

  • @suenestnature You seem to have a lot of time on your hands judging by the ridiculus number of comments made....how many dogs have you saved btw? Just because there's confident dogs being saved, does tha mean that showing a non confident dog should be banned? Also, the dog was scheduled to be pts in ONE hour...do you reckon she would have come out of her shell on her own in that time? The leash was for control and then he had to pull her out of the mess. Get over yourself please!!

  • @Canislupess Somewhere in the thousands. Fearful dogs, aggressive dogs, dogs with serious sep anx. Lack of confidence is not a crime, but terrorizing a dog is. And when they tortured this dog, they managed to get glorified for it. And it takes about a minute to respond. I work fourteen hour days with families who have dogs with behaviour problems and I mentor other behaviour consultants. I do what I can and I call it as I see it. This is wrong.

  • @Canislupess The problem is that when faced with a dog who is saved, people feel that anything is better than death. I don't believe this is true. I don't agree with this because the dog they could have saved a confident dog who wouldn't have been this stressed. Now instead of a stressed dog who needs more resources dying, a confident dog who would make a better pet needing fewer resources is gone. Saving a confident dog just isn't as sexy as saving one who is this compromised.

  • @elitepetpaws The lead was not strangling her. She's terrified yes, because she was mistreated and abused and dumped into a shelter that was probably inadequate. Get off your high horse and recognize that Eldad is someone who probably has a better relationship with these dogs than you ever will.

  • @Fyndy Starting with the noose; there was nothing to stop it from closing completely. A very, very dangerous tool. She is terrified in the moment because she is far over threshold and cannot tolerate the abusive handling that was done in the name of helping her. And three, how can you comment on my relationship with my dogs. Have you been to my youtube site? Have you seen that none of the dogs in my care or in my program have shown signs of stress or fear? This is gratuitous at best

  • @Canislupess If you don't have time, then you are agreeing to abuse the dog. Humane is more than avoiding death. Humane means not adding to the dog's distress. Think of it this way; there are more than two dogs who need homes. If you have to choose, and you do, then choose the dogs who are going to experience the least distress in the process of rehoming. They chose a dog who was in signficant distress and because it worked out, they get a big reward. Not cool in my books.

  • @suenestnature Stop saying such ridiculous things with your mightier than thou attitude. There are situations where things like this cannot be avoided. Do you do Eldads job? We don't live in a perfect world if you didn't notice. I do not agree with using abusive techniques but, seriously, no abuse was intended here...neither was adding stress actually intended....we can't avoid things like this completely.

  • @suenestnature Say if Eddie had a serious injury and had to be treated straight away....do you still thinm they should mess about waiting for her to come out of her shell and be ok which could take weeks...or treat her straight away? Like I said, try being more aware of reality dear!! I have discussed this with plenty of trainers and behaviourists who refuse to use inhumane training methods and they understand the situation here too.

  • @Canislupess Lets just for argument's sake say that she had a physical injury that required surgery; would it be okay with you to do surgery without anesthetic? That is behaviourally equivalent to what was done to this dog. there was a time when this would have been exactly how I handled this situation, but I have learned more and now do better. I am hoping that my speaking out about what I see will help some readers to understand that there are alternatives.

  • @suenestnature I can think of a better use for that "strangulation device."

  • 53 people are soul-less.

  • I have two middle-aged rescue dogs that I love. Please consider adopting an older dog. You will be repaid a thousand times over

  • Reminds me of my cat! He was abused and feral. Now he is a house kitty and happy and loving and gentle

  • I literally balled my eyes out!! So beautiful

  • @lovepotion24x ...ummm...for future reference - you might want to change that to "BAWLED" my eyes out. I cried, too - but if you look up the definition of "balled", you will see that I'm just trying to be helpful, not a "spelling nazi."

  • This is really an amazing video of how connected we are to animals and the important role we can play in helping them as they help us with unconditional love. Best Selling author Eddie Campbell

  • Those who disliked don't have heart....

  • That cute little thing just needed love, that's all.

  • How can poeple not love this video ?! Poor dog ! Dogs love you more than themselves. They are amazing. I would give my life for my dog. I got her when I was 8 and I'm now 21 and I would do anything for her just because she gave me so much love.

  • I have a Maltese and this really was touching. Though of course I love ALL dog breeds. Just that Maltese have a special place in my heart.

  • Only God know what kind of abuse this soul has suffered to be in such panic!! You are a great man, animals need you!!

  • that dog just shat, and you pulled it onto your lap.

  • @ramenshapa That's what love does. It doesn't care if you're covered in shit, it'll still love you.

  • Faith in humanity is restored.

  • Does anyone know what the music is?

  • I could put this music to a video of me rescuing a turd from the toilet and it would sound fucking sad.

  • Makes me hug my dogs a lil tighter.

  • God damn I'm a fucking sucker for these types of videos. Why are dogs so intensely cute mang

  • at 2:48... looks like Edie can relax for the first time in a very long time! :) love this vid.

  • Such a beautiful story, thank goodness there are people like you...

  • The music is lovely and the story is beautiful. How is Edie now? ♥

  • All animals deserve our love. They all react to simple human kindness like this, with so much gratitude.

Stop the supply & demand of puppy mills and the killing of millions of animals in pounds by only getting rescued animals from sanctuaries or rescues. Boycott breeders & pet stores who sell animals!!!!

  • What, is that a Maltese? Who the hell would euth a Maltese!? They're like the sweetest goofiest dogs on earth.

  • You are everything that the world needs more of, kind, compassionate, and a true hero to many. Thank you for what you did, it's so nice to see humans still being humans.

  • I really appreciate what you guys have done here. This is inspirational. I've shared it on my facebook and I hope only more people view this video and take your example.

  • the simple act of kindness and love is an amazing thing

  • I just watched this 5 times and cried the whole time...

  • nice video but this music is so cheesy and manipulative. would be much better without it.

  • @alittlemikeful Just mute it if you're offended. Problem solved. Or you can keep complaining like a bitch.

  • @basselope

yeah, it's kind of late for that considering i already watched the video.

thanks for insulting me for providing some constructive criticism though.

  • the music is overkill

  • wow this made me cry hard. I love dogs so much.

  • Lucky one, the other thousands of dogs and cats are killed just because nobody wants them

  • Aww!

  • this is just beautiful

  • I first saw this video in 2010. I am so glad I was able to find it again today. Showed it to my GF.

thank you for posting this. thank you for posting who the composer of the song was (purchased it on itunes just now).

Thank yous as well to those involved in caring for Edie

  • Oh that made me cry. I'm so happy to see that she got adopted!

  • godamit man i never cry but this one almost got me beat. I Love all u guys who are helping these dogs I'm making my donation right away.

  • I have seen this reaction so often: a terrified dog who just needs a bit of love. You folks who can't be very involved: go to your local shelter once a week and spend 1/2 hour with a frightened dog. It will change YOUR life :-)

  • god, i'm crying my ass off :')

  • gosh, it looked so easy to show some love:( sweet doggie
