  • prefer this over the movie version! <3

  • Have someone the lyrics of THIS song ?

  • I like this version but am i really the only one who liked timon and pumbaas small part? Lol

  • =) amazing

  • (sorry for my english) they should add this version (in color and after computer-treatment) to blue-ray disc :(((( who want to see this in color too? its a pity, but.... no chance :(

  • I think timon and pumbaa made it really sweet yet funny but this version is really beautiful.

  • Yeah, this was AMAZING!!!!!! Screw the fact it wasn't African enough! Just make the music sound the same way it did in the movie, and that's it! This was genius!

  • how come this feature, along with others like the 'making of' documentary and other deleted scenes never made it into the platinum or diamond edition releases? was there something wrong with doing so?

  • I prefer a "truth for you and me" rather then "love is where they are" In the movie, the lyrics for me suggested they kept bumping from first person, to third person in awkward ways. They needed to be retouched. It worked if it was just Timon's part that had the lyrics for noting their relationship from an outside perspective. But the song itself moved too much. This flow was much better overall. I mean the movie one was good and fit for the final cut but needed work on just lyrics.

  • @darkchibicosmos They had over 10 sets of lyrics for this scene

  • @SongsJerome yeah i saw that on my specials disk. I thought it was interesting and am curious why they felt certain lyrics were better suited. And I mean right down to the syntax. It's just fascinating to me.

  • @darkchibicosmos Same here :)

  • I wish we could see the version that was completely sung by Timon and Pumbaa.

    Simba: OMG boobs!

  • I like this one! but I like the lyrics to the one in the movie better! I wish they would have done the scene if Simba with the tree branches stuck in his mane though, that would have been cute!

  • is beautiful version

  • I really like this version, but the version they put in the final cut was best for the flow and timeing of the movie.

  • And so that's how Kiara were made LOL

  • Lyrics (Part 2):

Can you feel the love tonight?

    (Can you feel the love?)

    Won’t you stay to see

    (Stay to see)

    Stealing through the night’s uncertainties

A truth for you and me

    Stealing through the night’s uncertainties

A love for you and me

(Sorry if some of the lyrics are wrong, I was just guessing and it's kind of hard to figure out what they're saying...)

  • Lyrics (Part 1): Can you feel the love tonight? Won’t you stay to see? Stealing through the night’s uncertainness A truth for you and me Somewhere there’s a reason Why I have to go Keep away from this star-crossed voyager That I don’t want to know Never trust the future Never miss the past If you live for the shining moment The moment may just last Can you feel the love tonight? It is where we are It’s enough for this wide-eyed wanderer that we got this far
  • people, everyone loves beta stuff... just type gta3 beta or half life beta... you'll get what im talking about. people get somekind of fake nostalgia or something, you people think that if they got the beta thing instead of the retail one it would be better? well, i dont really think so... i mean, if a game, like half life for example, had the limit of 15 grenades instead of 10, people would criticize that, saying its too much... you catching up with me people? get over it! Its your mind's prank

  • @ALC96 Your point is?

  • @Gernam12 my point is in my comment. read the comment and you will get my point. lazy ass

  • @ALC96 Classy.

The most I can get out of it is that you're saying that beta stuff is bad. You barely show a point by jumping to multiple sub-subjects and move to video games instead of films. You don't even directly speak of what is above.

  • @Gernam12 yeah this is beautiful, but arent the final things more detailed and, like, more effort put into them? anyway, this argument ends here and now.

  • @ALC96 This debate was about a point not about opinions.

By the way; this technically would be a finished version if it was given detail, yet in pre-production stage it has to look rough to give an idea to animators. There is probably a version of the finished version of this song that has storyboards too. It's not so much a matter of loving the finished more, but a matter of taste on what decisions were made. Remember, this is only rough cause it was abandoned.

  • its better than the original :) cute

  • I love how Simba's doesn't know how to respond at first to Nala's sudden "Omg let's make out!!" ^^

I liked the finalized lyrics better, but this version is terribly romantic. Would love to see it in color =)

  • Could somebody please write the lyrics?

  • I like both the movie version and this version. My main complaints with the movie version is that it was too short and I didn't like Timon and Pumba singing. I wish they combined the movie version and this version into one song.

I never liked Eltons version. The lyrics didn't match the movie.

  • pretty but i perfur the original though i would of loves to see the full vesion of this{aka the coloer version} hey wait no timon or pumba?

  • this an early consept of what it was like this story bord was made in january 26th 1993 it was still in the making proses

  • this IS the original. this version came before the one that's actually in the film.

  • ya know i mean the movie one i already knew this one was first i just mistyped

  • wow. this version is awesome. but then again.... so is the one in the movie. they're both really good. ^^D

  • this is such a beautiful song!

and this movie is my favorite ever since i was a kid

  • for sure the most beautiful that there is this! in Portuguese would be nice!

  • hey this song was it the frist The Lion King Trailer make

  • i think they should have done it exactly like this way better than what they did

  • @honeygoogoo I agree with you there. I think there was a VERY old VHS promo (I think it was Aladdin, but I could be wrong,) with this version of "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" on it, so I think they scrapped it for the newer lyrics right before they were about to finish filming.

I really wish they had kept these lyrics though. They're so pretty and a lot of the Timon/Pumbaa stuff is just annoying. That's why I liked the Broadway version of this song better. It's supposed to be ROMANTIC.

  • I love this. The ending is really beautiful. ^^

At 1:03 it looks like Nala is taking a bite out of Simba's nose, lol.

  • It must've been very beautiful when it's painted

  • This one is better than the other one.

  • love it good verson

  • i never scene this verson before

  • Nice version, but the original is better.

  • Technically, this is the original. One of them, anyway. Tim Rice and Elton John went through about a dozen or so different versions of the song. As far as I know, the basic gist of the layouts and what happens was pretty set in stone early, though.

Personally, I prefer this one, more for what the characters do. Thanks to the OP for adding it here!

  • I think there were a total of.. 23 versions, if I'm not mistaken. Boy would it be nice to get a CD with all of them on it.

  • try about 25 to 30

  • I'm trying to remember how many Tim Rice said there were. I do know Elton's version is #1 as he loved the original set of lyrics, and the one in the movie was the last.
