This isn't Resident Evil. Melee is one of the most useful features in this game. Comparing it to L4D1 is just pure ignorance. Compared to L4D2, L4D1 is a walk in the park. Not only is this game more difficult, but the hordes are much MUCH larger, along with the many crescendo events where the Hordes don't stop. It's also a very HUGE asset on Expert or Realism. It helps more than two measly little Pistols, especially when you can basically only kill Zombies with headshots in Realism.

I dont know about you guys but on expert id rather go without them.

Melee is more useful than Pistols will ever be, L4D2 or not.

One swing of the Axe can clear an entire horde surrounding you. What can pistols do? Take down 3 while 3 more hit you in the back? Even the simple wooden bat can clear a horde.

Pistols are almost obsolete in L4D2. Hit them back and shoot them? Have fun with your cool down timer while I just swing my Axe or Guitar and clear the entire horde in one go instead of spamming pistols, reloading and getting hit.

no i mean in l4d1 there ant any melee weapons so you would need to reload and if you shoot with the pistols the zombies behind you would make you miss cuz when they hit you they push you to make you miss. l4d2 is good cuz you have melee weapons and melee's. so you wont lose health very much.

I played the demo and did not enjoy left 4 dead 2. And really im not whining im just sharing my opinion. The game just felt to much of the same but a little less. I grew attached to the original characters, And Louis's constant need of pills. The use of the melee feature kind of makes you think. Why get rid of my handgun when i can just push the zombie away with my shotgun? Overall the melee system was bland IMO. And they barely added anything new besides some weapons Im NOT whining but IMO

actually the demo did suck. it did not include the ammo pack, chainsaw and other fun stuff ppeople like. I was disappointed by the demo but am loving the game. THe carnival is interactive, the water actually slows you down, the uncommon common were well thought out, and is well worth $50. Melee is awesome cause you can chop heads off, get ure screen bloody, and have the joy of using a fuckin axe. overall great game, must have(unlike mw2 for pc, 360 is must have for mw2). funny vid tho lol
