  • hi everyone... the oiler on my chainsaw is not working, i have cleaned out the hole with no luck, is there anyway to use the saw with some kind of external oiler.. all advice is welcome.. many thanks.

  • "if u live on planet earth, you need a vallorbe sharpening kit"

  • I bought one of these kits about a year ago, The files are great, I didn't get the metal thing that went over the round file though?

  • Like this video. Informative. Yes it is an advert but it's not hard sell. Are these kits available in Australia?

  • These are sold all over the world, I don't sell them!

  • @bluetree600 GREAT VID

  • this is about the best of the 'how to' videos i've seen. some of them are really bad and dangerous but this one is ok

  • 3:35 they forgot MURDER CAPABILITY, but seriously, has anybody ever used a chainsaw to kill somebody else on porpuse, not accidents, seems like a pretty stupid thing to use, even though video games and movies wants us to think its the shit, awesome though

  • I think Oregon Cutting Systems may have invented this tool. It is the best style of guide on the market in my opinion, because it rests on the cutter and the depth gauge it controls the cutting angle-which is the most important angle. At 2:53 of this video you can see the important angle, and the angle shown is not the right angle for proper cutting-the leading edge needs to be sharper. Bailey's in Laytonville, California is a mail order outfit that probably sells these guides.

  • Yes, they are trying to sell a product but at least they aren't talking dross like some of the other "advisors" on the subject

  • The video would be far better if two thirds of dialogue wasn't spent trying to sell a product

The close ups aren't that great, not for someone who hasn't sharpened a saw before.

    Rating: poor

  • Hi guy's, if you want to learn how to sharpen, i will give do's and don't's. What to look for, all you need are the basict's. You will have fun, 30 year logger. [email]

  • Well done! This was very clear and informative..... Doing it yourself saves big money.

  • whats the cost on these kits

  • Great video. Very informative for the part time occasional chain saw user.

  • File it by hand, still the best way imo

  • where can i get a vallorbe sharpening kit?

  • this damn kit will take forever to sharpen a chain

  • Sharpening right takes time, but it's more then made up for in how much faster you can cut.

  • you can buy a sharpening machine for 40 bucks and sharpen a chain in 5 minutes

  • I tried the Dremel grinder and it sharpened the chain, but not as good as a file. Maybe one of those bench grinders would work better, I'm not willing to spend $40 to find out. And even with one of those you still have to file down the depth gauges by hand.

  • First take lorazipam for the anxiety problem, Then set down, take your time and sharpen the chain. The results are well worth the small amount of time it takes.

  • @jedagi1964 first take lorazepam lol good one

  • especially when you factor in the extra gas used with a dull chain, and also the worn out components from over heating the chain.

  • Even though this is a commercial, it's also very informative for Chainsaw learners.

  • where is it sold and how much is the kit?

  • Home Depot...Kit included a DVD containing the exact video that's on here. Kit is branded as "Echo" Chain Saw Sharpening Kit. Paid about 22 Dollars.
