  • @madisonmiley123 wow. you really need a life.

    1) saying 'no offense' doesnt make up for whatever you are bout to say

    2) you spelt CHOREOGRAPHED wrong. if youre gonna say something mean, at least spell it right. fail!

3)these girls did a good job and i dont think they care that your choreography was better or that you were in it. i was in chinese too but you dont see me insulting these girls.

"no offense" but your comment was mean and snobbish :)

  • i hate that one girl in the black she is bitch

  • @piplod1 do u kno her or sumthing?

  • what is the name of thsi music

  • you people dont understand how long it takes to put dances together. we put lots of hard work into this dance and you come on here and bash this dance. this is not racist at all. were welcoming the chinese culture into our dance sure we may have got the culture wrong but nutcrackers have been doing this for many years. its a tradition. so you just need to let dancers be. we love to dance and dont care anything about what you say.

    oh and btw im chinese.

and you just got burned by a 12 year old.

  • i think everyone who thinks this is racist is racist themselves. This dance is supposed to embody the concept of Chinese Tea, and i think they did a great job of it.

the music percolates, just like tea does, and the dancers are lively and energetic. Their movements have a certain propriety in them.

I love the Nutcracker especially the candy dances in the second act because they are so traditional and different from today's stereotypes. LONG LIVE NUTCRACKER!

  • If it shuts anyone up, I did this piece years ago, with the fingers in the air, and it was set by a Chinese man. I would imagine he didn't think it was racist....considering he set it.

  • this dance is not meant to be insulting its just dance reprecenting tea not chinese people....just the tea

  • not my favorite version, but cute. jeeez everyone thinks everything is racist these days..people are too sensitive to stuff there's nothing racist about the nutcracker.

  • There supposed the embodiment of chinese tea not even Chinese people as such, thus the title, why on earth would you be offended by dancers representing tea?! Please people I am against stereotyping and racism but the nutcracker? Seriously?

  • i really like ballet with traditional chinese costumes

  • You have to understand that this ballet has been around far longer than racial equality. It is meant to be in good humor and not offensive. It's a ballet. I think that the dance was done tastefully. The costumes were a little wierd, but the dance was fine. Lighten up!

  • good lord what the hell is wrong with you ppl? its a dance for the nutcracker and is not meant to be insulting to anyone. stop getting all butt hurt over something silly.

  • oh my gosh people its not sposed to insult chinese its just a dance its not sposed to mean any thing but truthfully i don't like the dance looks weird

  • wow u guys are sooo mean!

good job harper at dancing chinese boy! ( :

    love,

    grace

  • Lighten up people!!! Do you think this is something new? This has been around for years and it will be around for years-no offense meant at the culture, it is just dancing.

  • their arches are small

  • sucks.

  • i'm not sure why in many of the nutcracker chinese videos, the dancers are holding up their arms and fingers...is it exotic that way or something? are we mimicking chopsticks?

  • yup

  • that's stupid. sorry. we chinese don't walk around like that.

  • i agree...

    this is so not chinese...

  • OMG, stfu and die.

  • You do realize this ballet wasn't written by an American, right? Nor were the steps. This show is incredibly old, and if you want to complain, go whine on a video of The Mikado instead. At least then you'd be a bit closer to something offensive.

  • actually the steps were most likely created by an american. The original (choreographed by Petipa) did not do very well at all, The Russian audiences saw it as vulgar. It was not brought to America until William Christianson choreographed a version in Salt lake City on what was to become Ballet West. They still do that version (the first version in America). So unless you are stealing choreography you are not doing the 'original steps.' And what americans think of as the "original steps" are not

  • so then you thinks america created everything you can dream up?! even the world?! well no so stop acting so ignorant and your annoying as hell

  • @ember5411 really, I happen to have an education, I have a degree in ballet. I dance professionally, and study ballet history. It is very apparent from your complete lack of grammar that you either don't have an education, or you actually choose to communicate like a dolt. Either way don't breed, We don't need anymore stupid here!

  • @Cherubfish OH MY GOD you have NO idea what your talking about! how the HELL is this offending?!?!? ITS NUTCRACKER! ITS DANCING! EVERY nutcracker is simular to this its a tradition! JEEZ

  • I like the one at Disney Hall better
