A similar thing happened in 2005 between the Detroit Tigers and the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. At the time, Catcher Vance Wilson was ruled by HP Umpire Tim Timmons in the top of the 2nd inning, that he leaned into the pitch thrown by Dustin McGowan. The skipper at the time, Alan Trammell, argued it and he got tossed for it. I guess anytime anyone argues that he did get HBP, will be tossed.
They probably will get tossed everytime and they should. Anytime you begin to argue judgement calls such as Balls/Strikes, Safe/Out, Fair/Foul, HBP/not HBP, etc. you are going to get tossed and you should be.
Dave Van Horn deserved to get thrown out. The umpire made the right call. I seriously don't know what Dave Van Horn was arguing about. The guy obviously didn't make an attempt to get out of the way. There for he is not awarded first base. GOOD CALL BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!
A terrible call? Oh wait, you said "our" coach. So, the call goes against your team, so it must be terrible. Watch again, pitch comes in, and he moves his elbow into the pitch, to get hit. He doesnt have to get out of the way, he just cant try to get hit by the ball. Good call.
i got a dave van horn autographed ball
