I know the vid is old, but I do have a question. You mentioned it in your 2nd part but it's not clear to me: how do you get rid of movement (like jumping, recoil etc) in your camera path? If I'm not mistaking you delete some files temporarily in your cstrike folder?
You're asking on YouTube? I'd Google that, but put -YouTube after your search to omit YouTube results.
Depends on the movie-making program, but the guys above are right, there's normally several bars at the end of your screen, one for left audio, right audio, effects, transitions, movie itself etc. Just delete the audio.
AlexanderH1991, you can customise your GUI to only show up certain items, and there is a list of CVARs that you can get online for turning on or off certain parts of the HUD. I'm lazy, so for first-person videos I use a minimal GUI.
Hm i got a ques though. When i put in cl_drawhud 0 then i can't even see the the ''kills'' in the top right hand corner. (When u kill a guy n it says with which weapon u killed him etc) how do ya get everything away apart from that and maybe the crosshair (if u know dat^^)
Best way to do it is to either make or find a specialised GUI that you can use only for making videos. All it includes is the crosshair, and the kill notification in the top right. Everything else is disabled so that you can export your video in high quality with no distractions.
no offense, but that de_dust smoother looks ugly with the bullets coming out and the lights inside the tunnel... i wonder if there are movie configs that eliminate that stuff... what do you use to make ur vids, virtual dub?
Nope, the in-build Demo-Smoother in ALL Source-based games, Half-Life, CSS, CS, DoD etc.. There is a set of 3 instructional videos in my videos list, if you watch them they'll tell you how to use it. This video is just a quick example of the end product or the Demo Smoother.
Watch the "Valve Demo Smoother Tutorial" videos, to learn how!, and yea, it works just fine at full speed. You can make the vids as fast as you want to.

when i smooth out my demo, I see a series of white numbers along the path the camera...how do you hide those?
Rectowarrior 1 year ago
I see your shell casings dropping out of nowhere.
I guess those don't disappear but are considered some form of separate viewmodel.

Remove it with your editing program, duh
sidneykylebowman1 2 years ago
You have to render it first. Use Fraps or the Source render tool (startmovie command).
Then import your video file to sony vegas or wathever and delete the sound)

KZPwned 2 years ago
Open your console, type in
crosshair 0
hit return. As far as I know, it's not possible to disable the muzzle flash any more. This vid is pretty old :D
NiNjAHoLiC 2 years ago
r_Drawparticles 0. It will disable other things such as the sparks when someone gets a hs.

"muzzleflash_light 0"

Yup, thanks for that correction Snake. This video was made by the user Hat from FacePunch Studios, not Valve :( My bad.
