  • /watch?v=wNLGazXSXDU&feature=player_embedded Smooth HUD Tutorial 08.01.2011

  • U copied it noob

  • I can't do smooth with new css?? WTF?!

  • I know the vid is old, but I do have a question. You mentioned it in your 2nd part but it's not clear to me: how do you get rid of movement (like jumping, recoil etc) in your camera path? If I'm not mistaking you delete some files temporarily in your cstrike folder?

  • when i smooth out my demo, I see a series of white numbers along the path the camera...how do you hide those?

  • I see your shell casings dropping out of nowhere.

I guess those don't disappear but are considered some form of separate viewmodel.

  • use cl_drawhud 0 and cl_drawdeathnotice 0

  • How Do you slow

  • Use the command "startmovie" while "host_framerate x" is set very high (x=fps)

  • how can you do so you dont hear in-game sound becuase when i record with source recorder i get the in-game sound!

  • delete the sound in video editor? captain obvious...

  • how can i delete the in-game sound in movie maker

  • down, u see a long bar with sound and video, check sound bar>delete, atleast, that how it goes in 70% of editing software

  • You're asking on YouTube? I'd Google that, but put -YouTube after your search to omit YouTube results.

Depends on the movie-making program, but the guys above are right, there's normally several bars at the end of your screen, one for left audio, right audio, effects, transitions, movie itself etc. Just delete the audio.

  • mute it

  • Remove it with your editing program, duh

  • You have to render it first. Use Fraps or the Source render tool (startmovie command).

Then import your video file to sony vegas or wathever and delete the sound)

  • lol and i can see the shots i make

    i see tha muzzle flash

    how can i fix?

  • Open your console, type in

    crosshair 0

hit return. As far as I know, it's not possible to disable the muzzle flash any more. This vid is pretty old :D

  • r_Drawparticles 0. It will disable other things such as the sparks when someone gets a hs.

  • "muzzleflash_light 0"

  • lol i see the crosshair :P

  • nice and thanks for the tut i can finnaly make my video

  • Glad it's doing it's job :D

  • thats counter strike

  • AlexanderH1991, you can customise your GUI to only show up certain items, and there is a list of CVARs that you can get online for turning on or off certain parts of the HUD. I'm lazy, so for first-person videos I use a minimal GUI.

  • Very impressive. I hope to be using this some time soon.

  • Hm i got a ques though. When i put in cl_drawhud 0 then i can't even see the the ''kills'' in the top right hand corner. (When u kill a guy n it says with which weapon u killed him etc) how do ya get everything away apart from that and maybe the crosshair (if u know dat^^)

    cheers

  • Best way to do it is to either make or find a specialised GUI that you can use only for making videos. All it includes is the crosshair, and the kill notification in the top right. Everything else is disabled so that you can export your video in high quality with no distractions.

  • if you don't want to see the cross hair put cl_crosshairscale 0

  • wow that is aesome, good camera angles

  • Hey, this is a clip from Fragalishus' movie "Rawkfist", isn't it? I still got the movie from like a year ago. :D

  • Tis indeed. Just used as an example of the power of the demo gui. (When it doesn't glitch uncontrollably)

  • no offense, but that de_dust smoother looks ugly with the bullets coming out and the lights inside the tunnel... i wonder if there are movie configs that eliminate that stuff... what do you use to make ur vids, virtual dub?

  • Nope, the in-build Demo-Smoother in ALL Source-based games, Half-Life, CSS, CS, DoD etc.. There is a set of 3 instructional videos in my videos list, if you watch them they'll tell you how to use it. This video is just a quick example of the end product or the Demo Smoother.

  • yeah thx for the vid... i watched all of them, they'de be more impressive though if they were'nt in pubs, but keep up the good work :)

  • Hat made these, not Valve.

  • Yup, thanks for that correction Snake. This video was made by the user Hat from FacePunch Studios, not Valve :( My bad.

  • Watch the "Valve Demo Smoother Tutorial" videos, to learn how!, and yea, it works just fine at full speed. You can make the vids as fast as you want to.

  • great!!!this is want i dream to have!

  • Man, I love this video.

It shows that with a good deal of work, you can create some AMAZING smoothed demos.

    The sky's the limit. (literally)
