  • Hi. I'm a high school teacher in France and I'd like to use the audio to your video for a listening activity in one of my English classes about fair trade, if that's ok with you. Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Genial =)

  • Thanks for standing up for Coffee Growers. Check us out!

  • cool

  • Hey well great...that's Ethiopians economy sorted out and we are all free to buy our favourite flavoured milk (there may be traces of actual coffee in this product, but we can't actually guarantee it!)to the immense profit of our favoured MacCorporation...no-profits were harmed in the production of this advert..errh! I mean public information video...

  • TRADE is based on money; and for those of you who lacks knowledge of how International Trade functions you will be easily deceived into thinking that Fair Trade is the solution for poverty. They know your weaknesses.

REMEMBER QUID PRO QUO is the law of how BUSINESS operates; OLIGARCHY is the perfect way to control TRADES; The media permits NGO &QUANGO to PROSELYTISE corporate psychopath doctrines... If You really want to help the poor, then TELL THE RICH TO REMOVE THE TRADE PROTECTION TARIFFS.

  • wow

  • God bless the whole organization of Oxfarm. This is a great deal of contribution that the organization has made. This would put about 80 million USD into the Ethiopian Coffee market and therefore benefiting the farmers and the country as a whole. Thank you again. S

    Ethiopia First!!!

  • Oxfam,Thank you sooooooooooooo much for helping them. One Love!!!

  • This is a step in the right direction. Which is inspiring, seeing as we've seen SO MANY steps backwards in regards to free trade, war, and regional disputes.

  • This is the beginning of justice for the farmers. We should all support the Oxfam efforts every day.Unless someone like you cares a whole lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not. the Lorax

  • Thanks for posting. I was glad to hear we finally did it, but it took me a while to get around to watching the vid. Keep up the good fight, coporate globalization has been pretty excessive for a long time...

  • potential? why not guarantee?

  • YESSS!! We did it!! (I'm an Oxfam activist, in case you're wondering.)

  • It worked! LOL I have been boycotting and harassing Starbucks in my town for what seems like forever, now I will go and buy me a Starbucks today and thank them! (smile) The power of the people still works, now lets IMPEACH the puppet master Cheney and his puppet Bush!

  • thank you for you kind help to this poor ppl... it is about time...

  • tbis should be a good lesson for all of us that if we stand together we can over come all of our problems. thank you oxfam and all who took part in the fight against the american coffee jiant.

  • Amen, God continue to bless those farmers and all those victims from exploitation and unfair trade and all the association and non-profits out there working on ending that... I really like the Oxfam project where you could send a pic of you with a sign saying "Starbucks stop abusing Ethiopian farmers"(or something like that). If all African could keep the hope alive and fight for it, I'm sure things will improve that way for the whole continent...

    Rock on!

  • I am saying thank God almighty but I don't wane it to be in vain. Hopfully we will see real change pretty soon.

  • Some justice after all.

Congratulations to those who stood up and Oxfam.

    We CAN make difference.

  • Thank you for helping to fund my friends in the Horn of Africa. This is great!

    Sincerely,

    Dick Cheney

  • Fantastic news. We new we could do it . Everyone of us made a difference to the outcome. So remember : behind every cup of coffee there is family...galatoomi

  • So what is "fair"? And according to whom? Anyone?

  • Comment removed

  • It is not actually a "fair-trade" it is just the beginning to a fair trade. Starbucks still buys Ethiopian coffee for $1.42 a pound and sells a cup of coffee for a $5+ - huge ripoff. The value for the three trademarked coffees brands is about $20+ a pound. $1.42 a pound is not a "fair trade".

  • What is considered the fair share of profit???? i am talking about the percentage, does anybody know?

  • YESSSSSSS!

  • Thankyou Oxfam and the supporters......

  • Congratulations Oxfam America and of course others who stand there against unfair trade. This victory will unveil the darkness to fight other unfair trade operations in Africa. Well done Oxfam!

  • This doesn't change my stance that starbucks is still selling a water down crap charging $3.00 or more. I will not set foot in their shop since my test of coffee will not get quenched. I will go to 7-11 instead.

  • This is wonderful!! Great job Oxfam!

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh we did it ! GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA!! AND THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELEPED THOSE FARMERS TO GET WHAT THEY DESERVE I am with you OXFAM!!

  • Good for Oxfam America and great for Ethiopian farmers!!! It's good to see good actually being done in the world these days!

  • There are some who fight for their own personal benefits. On the other hand there are few who stand for the poor to live a better life......thank oxfam for the great work.

  • Fantastic news! We did it!

  • Awesome! It's amazing that building a front against companies like Starbucks actually works.

  • My thanks as well -- to all the supporters of Oxfam. And to those in Oxfam who found this wonderful way to advise participants of the success and resulting appreciation of the farmers involved -- so heart warming!

  • Sooooo happy!

  • !!!so positive!!!!!!!! Good work!!!

  • I would like to pass my appreciation to Oxfam international and the Ethiopian government who in patrnership shared responsibility with oxfam in this holy struggle to secure better life for the poor but hard working coffee farmers from my land-Ethiopia. Thank you to the whole world for making this voice get heard at starbucks !! GOd bless you all.

  • To Ethiopian Gov.? who shared responsibility? what responsibility you taking about? as long us a lot of Ethiopian Know this Government is responsible for the hardship of life throughout the country with issues like fertilizers, charging them with price they cant afford put them in prison and making there life a misery than helping them so please cut out the crab.and thank only Oxfam and All American People who are behind this champagne

  • Yay!!!! I am so glad. I saw Black Gold and have been appalled at Starbuck's reluctance to come to this agreement. Good for them but most of all fantastic for the Ethopian coffee farmers.

  • Good job.Thank you for everyone who involved in this dream to come true. mostly EPRDF and OXFAM. This is realy great news for us who love ETHIOPIA.

  • Thank you Oxfam and the Ethiopian Government and all those who stood by this just cause. The glass is half full. Let's make our coffee marketable and presentable.

  • Result!

  • YAY!!!!!!!!!

  • YeAHHHHH!

Does this mean they now have the protection that european winegrowers have, like D.O.C. status?

  • YESSSSSSSSS WE DID IT!!! WE DID IT!
