  • the fact is the we should make a severe law to protect pets everywhere and punish with inmate penalty to everyone who treats animal this ugly way!

  • GBY Cookie and your Mama too!

  • thank you so much for giving cookie a great home!!

  • poor cookie ten years of breeding is so heartbreaking those people should be put in a cage and left for dead

  • So sorry for poor Cookie, thank you for sharing her story. This can help people understand more about puppy mills and how horrible they are. Hugs to poor little Cookie and you for showing love.

  • bless this woman and all of you who are trying to stop puppy mills. I have a question for anyone... in the US are puppy mills technically illegal yet? in any states? because i know they should be and that many in my state were recently discovered and ended, but i was not sure :)

  • I am glad that in germany puppy mils are frobidden. Thanks for sharing this video and i hope Cookie will have a great life now, a real happy dogslife!

  • My new dog is a Surviving mill breeder dog. She was breed to earlie so she is really small

  • bless this woman poor dog horrid puppy mills.

  • Good for you!

  • The human race coninues to disgust me. How could any one do that to a living, breathing animal???

  • If you have a dog-sized hole in your life, go to your local shelter. Lucky Cookie. Heartbreaking.

  • Shocking. Puppy mills should be abolished and their owners thrown in jail.

  • Sick people! My god, people are despicable!

  • I SAY NO PUPPY MILS!!!

  • This is so sad-hope Cookie makes a full recoverery and has no long lasting effects of her awful treatment. Thanks for sharing StopBSing

  • i dont understand how people can treat an animal that way, and to say the least it pisses me the hell right off.. it is completely barbaric what is done to animals because people are greedy.

  • Wow.....That is messed up. How could someone be so creul to such a adorable animal?

  • poor dog :´(

  • poor Cookie :((

  • Well done for sending me the video. and well done to the very kind lady for highlighting the plight of these animals.

    Take care.

  • I love dogs and cats and worked for short time as trainer in doggie day care.Dogs & humans are very similar in their emotions So I absolutely hate puppy mills & dislike pet shops that take advantage of emotions of children to run a revolving door of live caged dog and cat sales. Here are a couple of organizations who fight this kind of abuse.

    PETA

    501 Front Street

    Norfolk VA

757-622-7382 (dial 2 to Report Animal Abuse)

    ASPCA

    424 E. 92nd

    NY, NY

    (212) 876-7700

  • poor pupy atleast shes better now and happy

  • I really shows out nature dosent it? This is how we treat a life lesser than ours. All deserve respect. My thanks to people who stand up against the mistreatment of animals and people.

  • SAY NO TO PUPPY MILLS!!!

    we MUST defend defenseless animals

  • It is sad that we treat animals in such ways. Greed and hubris know no limits. Factory farming is a disgrace and it is exploitation at almost as ugly a level as the human concentration caps in Hitler germany. Even animals we consume should be allowed to rome in fields and barn yards . Animals should experience life, sun light, open space ,chickens and cattle confined in small cages their whole lives is a sin against and god and nature.

  • my jack russell "Eddie" who i got from a horse show was very sick when i got him...the guy charged $500 for puppies..he had tape worms he was a bag of bones and had ear mites...he was a mess...hes huge now & healthy! Im so happy for COOKIE!!!

  • If you cant give a pet a loving home then don't take one on. Many thanks to all who look after all the animals that we SHARE this planet with.

  • Oh poor Cookie, I'm so glad she's found a loving home. Are these puppy mills not regulated in any way? How can they get away with this kind of treatment of animals?

  • There was no need for this to happen and lets end abuse to animals. Thanks for coming to the rescue. No matter where the pet comes from, it is the responsibilty of the pet owner to take care of it.

  • I got my dog from a person in Brownsville who was selling pure breed dachshunds. He is perfectly healthy and I love him!!!!

  • Cookie is a cutie - and you are an angel, lady.

  • How can anyone do this kind of thing?!Poor animals depend on us and make the most loyal friends

  • If we would stop buying animals from pet stores and if we could turn in anybody that you think might be performing in dogs fights, we could do so much for these animals. If you know somebody who is mistreating their own home pet, turn them in. Animals deserve to be indoors when it is hot and cold. Keep them clean and bug free and in good skin conditions. I have 3 dogs and they are my life. Stop the abuse of animals, any kind of animals. don't by exotic pets.

  • this is just horrible..

  • Thank God there are decent human beings in the world like you. Cookie seems to have suffered terribly before you gave her a home and showed her love. I have 2 dogs, a Border terrier and a Jack Russel who is also a rescue dog. Thanks for raising awareness of this horrible inhumane practice. I'm sure it will lead to the rescue and safe housing of many other abused and terrified dogs. Thankyou!!

  • AWESOME video ' ive also added this to my AtoZ share video of the day 'issy

  • Cookie looks happy now. God bless Cookie and all the other animals that need help.

  • Also;if idiots didnt insist on pedigrees;this couldnt flourish like it obviously is.Why are these places legal;why/this is just not right;but when did animals have rights anyway..obscene.

  • There seems to be a row between 2 people here. One has been proven to be a liar.Every time u buy a puppy from shops you are contributing to this cruelty.they are used simply for breeding machines.Simple.Anyway;if people loved dogs so much;they would be rescuing one from a shelter;not buying one from a "breeder"or these horrific places...and stop buying breeds just to show off how macho you are;another bone of contention for me.

  • REJECT PUPPY MILLS!!!

    AND STOP ANIMAL ABUSE!!!

Its time for the whole world to cooperate!

  • Got our 2nd little Yorkie in Jan.from breeder

who has since been prosecuted after many public complaints.Puppies had heart, liver defects etc etc and some died whilst travelling home with new owners.Thank God our little Jack is O.K.How can people be so cruel?

Cookie is a lovely little dog! She and all the others deserves so much more!Sometimes we`re ashamed to be human!!!Hugs..Jan an susan.x

  • Puppy mills should be outlawed. They are overbread, neglected and abused by leaving them in cages for their whole lives. No pet or human should be subjected to this misery. I feel the same way about nursing homes for our seniors.

Please get your pets from a rescue organization, humane society or your local animal control. If you're going for papers and pure breed, please go to private owners where the parents are on site.

  • You are doing such great work, i just wish it wassen't needed.

I just don't understand people can do this to animals.

I'm so glad Cookie will have a better live now, but she would have diserved to have a life like this all her life.

Big hug to you and the dogs,

    Jolanda

  • We have an adopted iguana. We don't know her age probably around 5 or 6 years old(she is with us for 4 years)...whoever had her, she wears that persons signs. We love her, for a lizzard she has a wonderful kind personality.

Planning to have a dog too....but I'll never pay a penny for an animal.

  • omg poor dog im never ever going to buy any dogs from a puppy mill ever

  • People can be so cruel. I found my dog in a trash can in an old backpack in the middle of summer the vet said another few minutes in that heat. Thank The Creator she was moving

    when I walked by.

  • I watch the ASPCA shows on animal planet so I have seen a lot of animal cruelty from miner cases to extreme cases and I too can not understand how somebody could do that to an animal. Its amaising how these dogs temperments are after being abused, they still interact with humans and are so sweet.

Thats a cute dog and I hope she goes to a good home. :)

  • People just aren't aware that they're promoting puppy mills. Best to get the word out there. Ignorance is bliss...but sometimes we gotta face the cruel, cold truth.

  • Oh, so sad. Poor dog. I'm incredibly happy she's doing much better now. Abusers are inhuman. To treat a dog or any other animal in a form of abuse, to hurt them so much that they are scarred for their short life...that makes me sick.

  • aww

  • I don't understand people sometimes, why do this? what is the purpose? Well, that God this one was stopped!

  • I'm glad you have given Cookie a better life. I'm happy to see this. She looks happy now though.

  • That is just horrible. And why do people keep doing this? Do they really think they won't have to pay someday for what they have done? I believe they are...Animals have feelings and are God's creation. They are even many times more loyal than humans themselves. I've had two dogs in my life that would have given their lives for me. One of them almost did.

  • oh poor dog, im so glad that she got rescued, i hate people that abuse animals, they have feelings to, i have a female dog that had been abused and it took along time for her to get over it. definately say no to puppy mills

  • Well I don't know about puppy mills but I had a female dog too I got from the pound, she was so scared but then she got a backbone and hated any man she didn't know. But once she did get to know them she was the nicest and sweetest dog you could ever hope for ^_^ I miss my puppy.

  • my dog has gotton to where shes protective of her family but doesnt like any one else, i dont think they realy get over the abuse but they do eventualy get to where they do start to trust again. im sorry that you dont have your puppy anymore they become so much a part of the family

  • No, I don't think they do get over the abuse but I think that's one of the reasons my dog became so loving towards us when we got her from the pound.

  • Can you stop sending me videos!

  • omg that is so sad. animals are like people they have feelings to. i hate people how dont like animals or hate them but yet have them and abuse them. stupid puppy mills should treat dogs right and that goes for every single person in this world who abuses animals

  • People suck. I don't know how they can live with themselves treating animals like that.

  • stupid puppymills!! those people have no hearts!!! >X(

  • Why on earth would someone use such an uncomfortable thick harness? Poor dog, not only for being in a puppymill before but also for having to wear such a stupid harness. All in the name of fashion!

  • I work in a pet store and can tell you that harness is not made for fashion. Thin collars and harnesses tend to cause injury and choking. You want a thick one to disperse pressure over the neck and chest. It keeps the harness/collar from collapsing the trachea. Thick collars also means more control and less chance of breaking. So no, it was not in the same of fashion, but for the dog's own safety.

  • Hello my name is nuclearpoop and I can type and make up inane arguments for the sole purpose of making up inane arguments.

  • i want to apologize to everyone that visits this video. i got into a argument with someone that kept replying to my comments and it got out of control. i will not be posting anymore comments or visiting this site again. take care everyone and good luck in stopping the puppy mills. may God bless you all and the animals.

  • That is the smartest thing you said all day. We will keep trying to stop puppy mills and educating people who want to be educated, unlike you. You are already a lost cause. Again.Watch that episode of Oprah sometime.

  • ok i promise this is the last post..i tried to be nice and wish everyone the best yet you can't be nice back you still have to insult me...how sad it must be to have to put others down to make yourself feel better, but it's ok...i really do wish you and everyone on here the best..my thoughts and prayers are with you and the animals...this is my last post.

  • I like you nuckleartrout....

  • thanks

  • Hello my name is nuclearsprout and I can type and make up inane arguments for the sole purpose of making up inane arguments

  • Right now, you have what....6-8 people telling you, you are wrong....did it ever occur to you that you might just be wrong?

  • did it ever occur to you that i might be saying all this stuff just to get attention for this video. do you see all the replies i am getting over a few comments, and i'm sure the people that are getting pissed at me are telling others. i am trying to bring more attention to this video and get people pissed and to do more research about puppy mills. so people think i'm wrong and stupid good it's about time people started caring about the animals.

  • Two words.

    Bull. Shit.

Do me a favor...go to MY video page and watch Truth About Euthanasia. Then come back here and tell me you are a hero. I held dogs from puppy mills in my arms as they died. I held dogs people bought at pet stores and when they got too sick and expensive to care for, they dumped them. I held them as they died too.

  • who said anything about me being a hero? all i said was i was trying to bring attention to this problem. so i havent held a dog while he died that doesn't mean i can't try to change things. i have taken in strays all my life that people dump out by my house. i have brought home i dont know how many dogs from the dump when i would take my trash off that people would just leave there to die. i would get them healthy and then find them homes. i'm no hero i just love animals.

  • Way to go to cover your ass.

    FAIL.

  • if you will notice in my favorite videos there is one about pet stores and puppy mills...watch it it's really heartbreaking especially with the dog they throw into a garbage truck while hes still alive it made me cry.

  • Well, aren't you a fucking hero now. Way to go! Buying from Petland, you support them and their killing of dogs! Great job with being a hypocrite

  • hello you didn't even get my name right it's nucleartrout not sprout...try reading my new posts and see how you feel then...i was actually making a point read my newest and you will see i do have a statement to make and a view of saving the animals..my comments did get alot of people fired up though and i'm glad. if people would be as upset with puppy mills as you guys got with me maybe we could do something about them.

  • I've already done MY part. I've protested, I've boycotted, I've adopted, I've educated. You bought two dogs from the biggest puppy mill in the USA. You've done NOTHING but support puppy mills.

  • first of all i never said anything about buying two dogs, and second i have never heard of petland until someone replied to one of my comments we don't have a petland where i live. that was all part of my story. hellloooo remember im trying to get attention for the video. i bought my puppy from a friend that had one female puppy left i wasn't even looking for another dog but they were going to take her to the humane society.

  • Are your eyes brown because you are full of shit?

  • i'm so sorry that you feel like i'm full of shit, but you have the right to your opinion i respect that i wish you the best in shutting down puppy mills. best of luck and God bless...

  • You live in Carleton, MI. Got that info from you Myspace page. I did a search, there is a Petland in Bellville, MI. So I Mapquested it. 24 minutes from Carleton to Bellville...more than close enough to where you live to buy it from there. Face it. You are full of lies, you now realize what a jackass you are, and rather than ADMIT you're wrong, you rather lie.

  • oh and i did google petland and there is only 1 in tennessee thats where i'm from and its like 3 hours from where i live and even if i was going to buy from a petstore which i dont i would never drive that far just to buy a dog. although i did drive to kansas city to adopt a weimaraner from a weim rescue society, and i drove an hour to adopt a kitten from the humane society.

  • Tenn? No, you're in Carleton, MI. You and your boyfriend are being lazy, living off unemployment...glad our tax dollars are going to you to lay on your ass and buy expensive puppy mill dogs

  • Also, see your pics on your Myspace of you holding the puppy for the first time, taking a picture with it....in a Petland play area. Those little corners with the tiled bench and half door, the "getting acquainted" area. If you're gonna lie, be sure you don't lay out your entire life out for someone to see

  • whatever blah blah blah...we are taking away from the importance of this video and i'm sick of you...your youtube profile says it has been deleted before and now i can see why...i will not respond to anymore of your post you idiot...

  • I got deleted because the videos I make are using copyrighted music and movies. Not because of what I say.

  • And nice try with trying to dissociate yourself and turn it on me. I know what I say is the truth. Now that you have been exposed as a liar, you want to go and call me the idiot? I was the one who figured you out. I'm the one who used your own profile against you. Who's the idiot?

  • Are you kidding? You don't get it. If people wouldn't buy pups from stores, there'd be less demand hence less need 4 supply, driving mills out. Business 101! What do you think pet stores do with the dogs you don't buy? Kill it? So how are you saving a life? Yet 400dogs are euthanized each WEEK in LA county!1/3are purebreds! Millions of taxpayer $ spent on euthanizing. It's easier to turn your back and justify your behavior than to research something so you can write and think intelligently.

  • Not buying from pet stores will stop puppy mills. Think about it....no one shops there, they don't make money, they have to either CHANGE what they are doing or shut down. I have seen pet stores that sell puppies go out of business, while pet stores that don't are still there.

  • PETLAND FOR SURE GETS THERE PUPPIES FROM PUPPY MILLS!!! I too have 2 rescued puppy mill survivors cut open for their puppies for the greedy petstores like Pets of Bel Air, Barkworks, Pet Love etc. Please don't give your business to these places it supports puppy mills.

  • nucleartrout

Every post you write just shows how ignorant you are of the plight of puppy mill puppies and what the parents of the puppy mill pups are going through.Just where do you think these pups are coming from?No reputable breeder would EVER sell their puppies to a petstore. The parents of these petstore puppies are in a cage 24/7 breeding, making money for these incompassionate scumbags. Do some research so you can post intelligently! Google puppymills and educate yourself.

  • BAN PUPPY MILLS!!!!

  • Petland's are owned by Hunte Corporation who make their millions on the backs of abused puppy mill dogs. They are pet brokers and transporters cited numerous times for killing dogs enroute, for selling known sick pets to pet stores. The commercial breeding trade is vile and must be stopped. The AKC MUST quit registering these litters too, as many so-called pure-bred are mix-breeds to increase litter sizes, especially of the small dogs.

Find a reputable breeder in your town, not a pet store.

  • if the dogs are so sickly then why are they checked by 4 vets before they even leave the store. you get a 30 day health guarantee. first vet visit and fecal exam free. microchipped and free spay or neuter for your pet. and a 48 hour return policy for impulse buyers.

  • It's the dogs they

use over and over for breeding that suffer.

It is just disgusting what people will do for money.

  • i agree it does suck that people could treat another animal this way but i love my new puppy and dont regret getting her at all she means the world to me and im just glad i could give her a new loving home and she didnt end up in a puppy mill giving birth over and over again..

  • So your glad that you could give your new puppy a loving home and you don't give a damn that you and people like you that are buying from pet stores are just perpetuating the problem? And you don't give a damn that another puppy will take your pups place in the petstore, and another and another ... All you care about is that YOUR pup didn't end up as a breeding machine for people like you to buy her pups? She very well could have.

  • Pay attention to JUNSK1517, The mother of your puppy went through hell and will probably be shot by the miller when her breeding days are over.

From what miracle pet store you buy this puppy that has 4 vet checks? Even more reason to be suspicious. Most reputable breeders guarantee for life, not 30 days! They want to know about defects in their breeding. Millers couldn't care less. Do NOT believe anything they tell you in a pet store. They are paid to lie.

  • i have all the documentation from the vets and i know she got her first vet visit for free because i have already taken her, and as for the 30 day guarantee that is for any diseases that she may have contracted from the pet store. she is guaranteed for life if she dies i get half off my next puppy purchase. and you dont know if the mother of my puppy went through hell or not so quit speculating.

  • "If she dies..." as if they are used to this occurring that they actually have a provision for it. It's more than the stupid purchase price that's important. The fact that you aren't willing to do research on your own about the history of your puppy, and don't seem to care whether or not your pup's mother went thru hell is very disturbing. Quit defending a choice you made. Just please be informed of the truth and quit trying to making pet shops be ok. They are not.

  • pet shops are ok in my book...and if you dont like it then quit reading my posts...and you dont know if the mother of my pup went through hell or not...not all pet stores are bad...i agree some are but i did research on mine and they only get their pups from reputable breeders...

  • What is the name of the pet store and name of the breeders? BTW, I work for a pet store. NO pet store tells you where they get their animals from. NONE. The pet store I work at REFUSES to sell dogs/cats. Rescues have adopt-a-thons there. But we never tell people who we get our birds and reptiles from. It is BAD BUSINESS for a pet store to tell people where they get them. Because then the buyer could skip us and go straight to the breeder and pay less.Stores need the profit, so they don't tell.

  • Guaranteed for life. Give me a break. Research maybe you'll learn something.

Oh and the mother AND father of your puppy went through hell and back and then some.

  • Again, what is the pet store name? I want to call them and ask their guarantee policy on puppies. If you are telling me the truth, that they guarantee for life, I will certainly come here and tell the people so. But I don't believe you. Prove me wrong and tell me what pet store you got her from. Because I gotta hear it from them.

  • oh and i got her from petland...i just dont think petland would sell puppies from a puppy mill.

  • Go do a google search on Petland. They have had a HUGE parvo outbreak!!! They also sold a bunch of puppies in the tri-state area with pneumonia. Petland is the #1 supporter for puppy mills. You have sentenced all those dogs there to continually die.

  • Thank you so much for your loving care of Cookie. She's beautiful.

  • It's good to see that Cookie was rescued and made a recovery.

  • Petland in Washington is under investigation because it sold a bunch of puppies with parvo and pnemonia. Petland is a corporation, all over the country and one of the biggest supporters of puppy mills. Please do not support this store. Don't even buy a biscuit there.

  • Iam very glad it gives Humans the care also for such little Pets.I think iut is very inhuman a little Pet to sell in a Pet-store,it is as if these animals are not valuable lifes only commodity.:(

Thank you for making a difference!!

  • Aaaaw, cookie

    ^_^

    This is so touching <333

When I get a lap dog, which will have to be after college, I'm definitely supporting one like this dear survivor

  • I'm so glad she has been rescued, but I keep thinking about the ones still in those hell holes.

  • well i bought a healthy puppy from a pet store and thats all that matters.....this is the first time i have ever bought a puppy from a pet store most of the time i go to the humane society or a rescue shelter.

  • Glad you got a healthy puppy, however its sad because in order for them to supply those puppies your puppy's mother is probably being cared for very inhumanely. So buying from that store gave more money to supply of those puppies and the puppy mill. I hope you continue to rescue dogs from the HS or RS. IMO there is no need to buy any dog with millions out there waiting to be rescued, and being euthanized.

  • Maybe the puppy was healthy, but her parents are still suffering in some small rusted cage walking in their own feces and bodily fluids from other dead and dying dogs. You shoulda stuck to rescues.

  • I've first hand witnessed dogs from a puppy mill bust. The worst one off was a dachshund that had a mass in her stomach region. X-rays showed skeletons in her. Surgery was preformed and she had "mummified" fetuses, 3 of them. She had terrible infections and by a sheer miracle and great work by the vet, she survived a few more years. That is what the parents go through.

  • not all puppies in pet stores come from puppy mills...yes puppy mills are bad and if thats where my puppy came from i would never of bought her. but she came from a reputable breeder...and she needed a good home just as much as those at the shelters and humane societies do...all pets deserve a good home no matter if they are free or you buy them...

  • I worked in a shelter and held 100s of dogs as they got put to sleep. Many of them purebred. Probably many of them bought at pet stores. Its because people buy puppies at pet stores that more die at the shelter. You are first hand responsible for euthanasia of dogs at the shelter. Again, you should have stuck to rescues. I've adopted 3 perfectly good dogs from the shelter, healthy, happy, grateful.

  • yes its great to adopt from a shelter but the truth is that no matter where you get a dog another is going to die..you buy one from pet store then a shelter dog dies. adopt from a shelter a pet store dog dies so there is no end to this. i gave a great puppy a good home and kept him from death and to that one puppy that means the world..i hate that dogs die everyday whether in a shelter, puppy farm, or pet store.

  • The dogs in pet stores don't get killed. Some moron will always be there to impulse buy one. Glad you proved my point.

  • i didnt prove shit its none of your damn business where people buy their pets and to call me a moron was just being an ass. you dont know me or the circumstances of why i bought my dog and it wasnt an impulse buy. you need to mind your own business and quit insulting people. because of you now i will always buy my dogs from a pet store..

  • And when you don't get so lucky and don't get a healthy puppy, don't come crying here that you had to see your puppy slowly die because parvo. When you buy, shelter dogs die. Your ignorance now shows its true colors, when you said just because you don't like my opinion, you will buy from pet stores now one. And it is my business, the moment you came onto this video and advertised to the world, you bought a dog at a pet shop.

  • sorry you do have a right to your opinion and this is the first time i have bought from a pet store. not saying i wont do it again but for the most part i do get from shelters. i have a weimaraner that i got from a rescue society and a cat that i adopted from the humane society. if i offended you in any way i apologize keep up the good work..i'm just having a bad day didnt mean to take it out on you. you work to try and save dogs is commendable.

  • Thank you.

  • Remember it's your constitutional right to buy animals from pet stores even if they do come from puppy mills.

  • Constitutional right? Really, please quote the part of the constitution that says its our RIGHT to buy where we want to....Its not a right, its a PRIVILEGE to be able to buy/adopt a dog. if someone wishes to buy from a puppy mill and then spend $1000s in vet bills....they can...but imagine how many animals could be saved with the $1000s spent on vet bills for one sick puppy mill puppy.

  • nucleartrout...According to the Humane Society of the United States, 97% of ALL PUPPY'S in PET STORES COME FROM PUPPY MILLS. Check your paperwork, research the kennel your pup came from. I bet it is a mill. Mo, PA, OH, VA, as many as 9,000 mills per state! Unbelievable.

  • no my puppy didnt come from a puppy mill she came from a breeder i checked it out before i bought her...her owners only have one set of dachshunds that they breed and just happen to sell this litter to a pet store. if she had came from a puppy mill i would never of bought her...but dont you think the puppies that are at pet stores deserve a good home too? i know puppy mills are bad but the truth is the pet store puppies are there and then need good homes.

  • Did the pet store tell you this? Did you meet the breeder? What's the name of the kennel then? Or were they just a backyard breeder? I believe the puppies are pet stores deserve good homes, but supporting the pet stores and puppy mills by buying them means more dogs suffer. I rather adopt.

  • im glad you adopt and i will too when i feel like it but sometimes i just want to get one from a pet store and people should stop running this shit down others throats. it's my choice whether to adopt or buy and this time i chose to buy next time i may adopt either way i save a dog from being killed or ending up in a bad home...

  • how sad

  • aww poor little girl

    I'm glade she doing better

  • GREAT!

    NO PUPPY MILLS

  • Great video and interesting story !!!
