  • ¿Es una maquina, un robot o un alien quien conduce?, no; es Alonso.

Desde Ayrton Senna no ha habido un piloto como Alonso.

Espero que tenga un coche competitivo y pueda obtener otra corona.

  • WOW, that was very impressive. What position did he start from? He owned everybody! As soon as he past Shumi, he was gone!

  • Simplemente es el mejor piloto en la historia de la formula1

  • I was always a Schumacher fan but above all that I'm an F1 fan and that was a simply brilliant drive by Alonzo. Hope he's in a truly competitive car this year.

  • It seems alonso's 2009 car will be even worse than last year's.

  • sorry but I desagree

  • No matter who is driving, the important is to enjoy more races like this.

  • Couldn't agree more!

  • best driver nowadays, and one of the best ever

  • ALONSO IS THE BESTTTTTT 5/5

  • I can watch this over and over. a truely epic drive. the renault was so sweet in 05/06 I hope to see this return of performance in 2009

  • The Renault R24/25 were brilliant cars, look at how Alonso can just turn the car in and it would hook up, farcry from the 2005 Ferrari which was a handfull

  • i hate wet tracks, i like it when thee is n excuse for the drivers, seperates the fast from the reall fast. althugh mre skill is needed to drive in wet weather.

  • Alonso Nº1 F1 parece un videojuego

  • That's really good. It's particularly good to see that battle between Alonso and Schumacher from Alonso's car.

  • Superbe video

  • The Best! Respect!

  • Schumacher might be the best but who cares, he is fucking unlikable and arrogant...

  • tyres WAR but michael shows that not going easy through him with slower tyres too hes king

  • Alonso est vraiment un très grand pilote. Il allait gagner cette course avec une avance de fou. C'est le meilleur pilote de F1 actuellement. HE ROCKS !!!!!

  • shoot! schumi must've just rolled out of bed and put the helmet on because the car got so much TC that is probably drove itself.

  • Fernando is better in the rain than Schumacher! I can't hear the TC in the Renault ,but in the ferrari I can hear just the TC nothing else! This is the gap between Schumacher and Alonso!Nobody can drive as fast as Alonso in the rain! But Alonso prefer when the weather changes, not when it rains! That's all,I said the cool

  • THE BOSS

  • Great drive from Alonso, no doubt about that.

But what amazes me even more is how fast Schumacher was through the opening laps. I mean, he only started 4 positions ahead of Alonso (so from 11th), and by the end of lap 1 he was in 4th and pulling away from Fisichella! If you compare that to Massa, who started 2nd or 3rd and went only backwards right from the start you have to appreciate that Schumacher did just as well as Alonso.

  • fernado & kimi are the best

  • Dobrze ustawiony samochod czyni cuda...Rzadzi ALONSO! POZDRO ALL F1 DRIVERS

  • THAT takes BALLS!!! I salute you!!!

  • Wow! Breath taking drive from Alonso. Its a pity he didn't win this race

  • god.

  • of course alonso made a perfect race, but i think his tires were also better. he didnt slide as much as the others.

  • i agree!!! i remember.. michelin that day were far better than the bridgestones...

  • But i also need to add that Schumacher's Ferrari had a setup for dry track (look for example when Alonso is behind him and makes a big gap in the start - finish line)

  • alonso is the best driver ever

  • Alonso is great, I adore him. But this is more of tyre fight than driver fight. Bridgestone was rubbish in this condition?

  • If you are looking better, wasn't. The situation is that Bridgestone intermediate tyres was working better in a little drier condition than Michelin's intermediates.

  • Then what's with Fisichella? He had same set-up, tyres and car...

  • Fisico during the years in F1 became a big statistician. Also i don't think that he had the same setup, because car setups depends from drivers driving style

  • Since which position starts the race Alonso?

He is God! Give him a minimally good car and he will do again races like this. Remember the last part of the season 2008, he was the best with that Renault.

I hope this year, Renault goes well during all the season, and Alonso will fight for the championship.

    Forza Alonso!

  • 6:17 was the best move of his career, overtaking Schumacher from outside in rainy conditions

  • Buenosimo, que mas se puede decir...Esas son las imagenes del genio de la F1.

  • 2:16 perfect acceleration and curve

  • he is simple the best

  • was he first after overtaking the second ferrari?

  • yes

  • No: the leader was Raikkonen.

  • Very aggressive, see everytime he turns in he just turns the wheel straight to 90 degrees, like he is letting it understeer a bit all the time, i don't like him at all but he is a good driver, i will give him that, other than that hes a total dickhead!

  • The best lap in F1 History...No matter which driver you support...This is the greatest driving ever seen in all races.

  • you are crazy

  • I don't care where's he from. Alonso is really the best F1 pilot... what a master!

  • I understand most of you Lewis fans like to hate on Alonso, but the fact is Alonso so far has just more skills than Hamilton. Let's be honest and compare; Alonso in a inferior car this year proved that he definitily would not be beaten by Hamilton if he was in a car that was competitive since the beginning of the season. Oh, another thing: For the love of God quit this racism crap that all you Hamilton "supporters" try to pull all the time. Maybe YOU are the racists here. Think about it?

  • Michellin Intermediates had better grip compared to Bridgestones! let's not forget how good M Schumacher is in the wet!

  • porque no te callas?

pero tu has visto este video desde principio hasta final? me parece que no.

luisito es capaz de hacer esto ? NO !

    RENAULT 2009 CHAMPION

  • You forgot to take your pills...yes sure you did it.

  • Fantastic. This man is talented and ambitious...

Someone please give him a good car.

Neither him nor Schumi would have gifted the championship like Massa and Kimi in Ferrari this year...

  • what a first lap!!!!

Alonso is the best driver actually on the F1 Championship. He developed an uncompettitive renault to a 2 race winner car. I want to see Hamilton doing that...

  • Yes, Hamilton is a very poor driver. Oh wait, he just won the championship... ;)

  • yes, he won the championship, but with ALL the team sayin' "do this, do that". I want to see Hamilton winning 2 races with an uncompettitive car.

He's a good pilot, but not a good driver.

If i have all the McLaren team in my back i'll win the F1 WC too!

  • No, you would not.

  • Yeah, and we all know that the World Drivers' Championship is a measure of the best driver now don't we? *cough* Villeneuve

  • Alonso is the best driver on earth....get him in a Ferrari and he will destroy Hamilton!!!!

  • if that is true why didnt he destroy him when they was both in the same cars

  • Ron Dennis, that's why! A man with a proven history of bias....just ask David Coulthard.

Don't get me wrong I'm not doubting Hamiltons talent but the nepotism that took place inside Mclaren when he and Alonso were team mates put me right off the guy. Hamilton took on the air of a spoilt brat who knew he would always get his way!

That's why I'd love to see Alonso at Ferrari. Let's see them have a proper title battle without any team orders. I believe Alonso is the better talent and would win.

  • never forget the teams plays a bloody important role in all this. Alonso was repitedly first in practice and car set up, as hamiltons ingeneers studied Alonso´s telemetry and copied his car set up. And i wont get into further argument. This is a fact if u argue against this u dont know shit about the sport and i wont waste my time.

  • what championship did u watch? you really thought they had the same car...

  • look at the way schumacher is the only one who is able to keep him behind for any meaningful period of time. He just cruised by everyone. Good drive but unfortunately the use of traction control takes the sheen off this drive for me.

  • Well, everybody was using traction control...

  • In my opinion Alonso is currently the best driver out there... I don't like the guy himself very much, but in terms of piloting he's the best. And he rocks on water.

  • No me canso de ver este video. RAINMASTER

  • Räikkonen should be replaced by alonso.

  • Amen to that.

  • alonso is excellent driver, but spanish supporter are rubbish

  • im spanish and i totally agree with you!!! spanish people keep critizising fernando alonso asswell. they just have to talk crap sometimes!!!

  • but hamilton is worse driver, and british supporters are rubish too.:-)

  • es el mejor en diferencia a por ferrari magic

  • master

  • love alonso, hes an awesome driver and has tons of charisma, really want to see him at the very top again, and im English.

  • thats not heavy rain!! look the cars drive with intermediats

  • Thats a brilliant piece of driving - overtaking a shitload of cars round the hungaroring - that never happens!!! Hamilton is prob best wet weather driver now, but Alonso is the best all round driver out there, coz he can do pretty much everything well (overtake, defend, drive fast in wet weather, setting up the car, be consistent and look after car) He might have been a prick last year, but he's still the best. Ferrari need him

  • I think Alonso's wet weather talent was really hidden last year by a) the change from Michelins to Bridestones and b) the Mclaren not having Alonso's preferred handling characteristics (Most likely due to a combination of a) and McLaren's reluctance to let Alonso have a bigger say in the design of the car. You only need to look at his results at Renault (who appreciate greatly Alonso's contributions to the technical side of the car) to see that this most likely cost McLaren heavily that year.

  • alonso è semplicemente il numero uno. nella posizione da cui è partito, e con la pioggia è riuscito a fare una rimonta incredibile , e soprattutto a superare shumi. Alonso in ferrari nel 2009

  • Incredible, but i still h*te Alonso

  • great drive, I wud lyk to see alonso in a ferrari but i think massa and raikkonen are good, massa has improved a lot

  • Cool

  • este video es acojonante!!!

  • Senna the best!

  • Amazing...

  • Ferrari fukked it up re-signin massa when they couldve signed alonso.I think alonso will remain at renault cuz the car seems to be faster now.

  • Idiot!

  • I think he will sign with Ferrari in 2010.

Massa will leave, i think, since Raikkönen is way faster than him.

  • Alonso is clearly the best driver,if he was at ferrari hed be champion again.

    ferrari=morons.

  • Well in Alonso's defense he hasn't exactly made up his mind on whether he wants to stay or leave Renault.

He's really accomplished a lot competing and beating Ferrari and Mclaren the past few years.

    Not counting 2007.

But basically every team including Ferrari have their drivers signed through at least 2010. I doubt they'd kick Raikkonen or Massa out to make room for Alonso who hasn't made up his desicion on what team to go with next year.

  • awesome drive!! truly the best driver in formula 1 since schumi!!

  • Brilliant driving, so patient, controlled and yet superbly aggressive.

  • MUSIC!

  • no - it's better without music... people always choose terrible tracks anyway.

  • there IS music on here, it's the 2.4L V8 F1 engine! that's music.

  • I said this is music! that V8 singing is, for me beter than any other kind of music.

    xD

  • Does alonso over shoot his starting line at the begenning of the vid??

  • The michelin wet tyre was alot faster than the bridgestone in 2006... nontheless - That is some very, very brave driving from Alonso... He is without doubt the best driver of the last few years. Great character too imo :D

Schumacher was pushing the rules to the limit trying to keep fernando from passing... Bloody cheat lol!

  • im sorry but how was he pushing the rules, you dont become a 7 times champion by being soft, you clearly dont no what your talking about

  • Schumy vs Alonso

    Shumy loser in two times

  • yhfht - what about in this same race when Schumacher cut the chicane, passed De La Rosa, didn't give the place back and didn't get penalised for it?? Thats cheating mate so don't say i don't know what i'm talkinmg about ;) Hamilton got penalised for cutting the chicane at Spa in 2008 and he, at least, made more of an effort to give the place back than shumi did here in 2006.

  • There's nothing better than an onboard F1 camera with no commentary to ruin the beautiful sound.

  • ha-ha dc didnt want to let him pass!

from a raikkonen fans point of view, kimi's the best but all things considered, when you look at what alonso's done with the givin to him this season, and in previous years,

    ALONSO'S THE BEST

  • MINCHIA CHE GARa !!! fernando is the best one NOW!!!!!

  • fernando is the best! hamilton is good but not as much as fernando, this year because they had no car and still had good results with a good medium car to whoever wins

  • EL NANO ALONSO BEST DRIVER

  • Alonso is a great driver but in 2006 the Michelin wet tyres was really in another world respect the Bridgestone ones.

So in this race it was really impossible for Michael kept Fernando behind.

  • That si why Fernando Alonso the best of the field!

    This is the true.

    Not Hamilton, not Massa, Raikonnen.....

  • jodo como tira el renault

  • superb race and superb driver

    best driver actually

  • the best

  • Alonso is the best!!

  • There was no proof of Renault had the best car, there were about one tenth behind on average over the season.

Alonso didnt really made any mistake and drove better than he did in 05, which was already near perfect. Schumi had engine blow so what... Alonso had one in Monza and drive-shaft failure in Hungary with a certain victory in sight. Alonso/Renault out performed Schumi/Ferrari end of story.

  • uv not a clue, alonso had the faster car for the first half on the season hence schumachers performances, he came back from 22 points, when ferrari luked slightly menasing, schumacher did well very well

  • EPIC

  • Schumis last 2 races were THE MOST unluckiest of any f1 driver. if his engine didnt blow up in japan and he didnt pick up a puncture in brazil, we couldve or shouldve had an 8-times champion.

But even people who dont support schumi have 2 say his last race perfectly summed up his carear, he put on a stella preformance, from 6th down 2 18th and then back up to 4th. OUTSTANDING!! well BMW put it perfectly, "thank you michael"

  • If Senna had lived, Schumi would have only won the championship 5 times.

  • I disagree. Senna would've won more races but you have to argue that Schumacher was more consistent over the course of a season.

  • fact of the matter is in 06 the bridgestone wets were absolutely terrible, michelin ruled f1. if you follow f1 closly like me, u would know that in 06 bridgestone opted for a harder wet tyre, which obviously was no match to michelins softer wets. this is why when it rained ferrari were always less competitive. look at 4:50 u can c schumis car wobbling under braking, there was no way he could legally keep alonso behind him.

  • he is my man

  • he TOTALLY deserved to win tha gp. best drive ever

  • very nice, as is gradually getting into the forefront.

  • I was at that race on 2006. And this year on 2008. Loved 06 year race. I were sitting in Gold4 tribune (The one near the 1st. corner) gosh it's probably best part of the track to watch live. (except start/finish tribune)

  • He is the best. What a driving!!!

  • Michelin tyres were just too epic in 2006.

  • Then what about Fisichella, did he run other tyres or setup? no.

  • Ummm... Formula one team drivers doesn't share they're setups. They do in IndyCar and maybe in some weak F1 teams like Force India and so on, but Renault, Ferrari, BMW, McLaren and so on drivers makes their own setups so duh. Fisichella didn't had Alonso's setup it's competition between team pilots. BTW. Michelin did owned that year. Bridgestones were way worse then Michelin.

  • Well, last year Hamilton copied Alonso's setup so...duh

  • Don't think so cause Fernando wasn't too friendly with Lewis in case you haven't noticed. Duh.

  • so. He was forced to give his set up to lewis.

at the end of the year he wasnt allowed to touch the set up of his car, rumours from mclaren employees state. So it shows what a gifted driver fernando really is.

Oh if it wasnt for massa giving way to kimi, This guy would be 3WDC. And i soon hope he gets another one.

  • Agreed.

  • McLaren runs the team that way. It's called "complete transparency". Both sides of the garage know what the other is doing. A few other teams do it as well, though.

  • lewis sucks

  • I agree he do suck.

  • yeh i hate hamilton the idiot in istanbul i think in 07 the pit drama was not alonso's fault hamilton perpasly wanted that to happen for alonso to go back so he came in the pits a lap early and he was told not too

  • Just on a side not, Renault do share their set ups. Fernando personally helps Nelson set his car up along with renault, he also gives him tips before the race and directions and alternate lines he should try. Nelson stated this.

Infact fernando also gives tips to Robert Kubica, a close friend of his in the paddock on overtaking, lines and so forth. So yeah. People, well good friends share.

  • Really? I didn't know that. I have a bit more respect for him, now, and I already respect him a lot.

  • best first lap in f1 history!

  • craaaaaaaaaaack

  • Chill out mate! anyway im not doubting alonsos ability or dissing it im just saying tactically the team got it bang on hear and that coupled with his driving led to him going through the field... And the only reason he can take on the outside is cause he has more grip than them so breezes past them. But Lewis is just as good, heres a fact he finished more than 1 min ahead the rest of the field with every one else sliding all over the track!

  • He has so much more grip than every one else. I think he has extreme wets on and the rest have inters on so every one else are slidding around on the exit of turns whereas alonsos car is gripping and therefore making the rest look like dead meat. Any way he crashed in this race and button won... No doubt he is a class driver but not as good as our lewis!

  • WTF you going on about Lewis!? YOU STUPID FUCKING FUCK!!Lewis Hamilton won in Silverstone not coz of his skills it's coz of the McLaren. McLaren car always handles well in the wets. It's been proved since AGES! Only SCHUMI in a Ferrari was the match for the McLarens.

  • Look what happened last year at Euro GP Alonso Nailed Massa coz of his driving skills & McLaren. You talk about Alonso crashed out in this race? WELL YOU STUPID FUCK go read facts Alonso's RENAULT team botched up his pit-stop they didn't attach the RIGHT rear tyre NUT properly & his tyre came off & the shit Button won the race or ALONSO had this in the BAG!

  • Button started this race in 14th and went on to win overtaking shumi on the opening few laps! You gonna say he is as talented senna and shumi... of course not thats cause he is not and neither is fernando.

  • Okay buddy You are also correct BUT Alonso = Best Overtaker it is true I will prove ok.

Now you have 2 points first off Button & Second of Lewis. ok?

Point 1 Button - Ok Button won from 14th good driving. That year the Honda was the 3rd best car on the grid better than the McLaren. Why? Coz McLaren knew from 2007 Michelins were going to get banned so they started work on their car before everyone else to suit Brigdestones. See why Renault & Honda struggle in 2007?

  • Moreover Michelins were the best tyres for wet conditions they had more grip & that "played a part in giving Alonso more grip" BUT have to check out Alonso's driving this year in the Renault he was also taking Outside lines watch the re-run of the British GP & focus on Alonso this time around instead off Lewis. See how Alonso in starting is all over the back of Heidfeld who is driving so well in the BMW & BMW this year is 3rd best car.

  • Then at the end Heikki is behind Alonso with a McLaren & can't get past Alonso coz Alonso is always taking the outside lines to find more grip then with 2 laps to go Heikki himself takes the outside line "COPYING" Alonso & manages just go side-by-side with him BUT since the Renault has weak traction, grip & power out of the corners the McLaren accelarates away. So Heikki manages to overtake Alonso by COPYING his style he doesn't succeed fully but coz of the McLaren's power he gets away with it.

  • Thus I prove to you that Alonso is not taking outside lines only in this Hungary race coz he has more grip. He's always overtaking his opponents like this without the help of the "SlipStream". This proves that Alonso = Best Overtaker. Better than Schumi & Senna. I'm not taking anything away from Lewis. Yes he drove brilliantly did Lewis but ALSO remember Lewis also ran off the track in the middle of the race before his second pit-stop.

  • Alonso never skidded off even Once! He was in a RENAULT! And Renault did NOT change Alonso's tyres in the first pitstop like Ferrari. Look what happened to Kimi & Massa they skidded like 5+ times. Alonso = 0 times. I give credit to Lewis but still I don't put him in league of Schumi or Senna when Lewis comes from the back of the grid no.15+ even in a dry race to win I will salute him BUT look what he did in France he overtook Vettel then overcooked it. Proving he has poor temparment & judgement.

  • I agree with you in truth. I dont think that he is as good as overtaking as senna but maybe he is better than schumi at overtaking. Schumi had the best car by a mile and although he was a reliable and class driver you could say alonso and senna had more flair than him. Dont forget monaco earlier this year though when lewis won in the rain after a clash with the barriers and in the same race that alonso had a shocker and crashed about 4 times and also took out heidfeld attempting to overtake him.

  • Renault had the best car in 06, until their damper thing was banned.

  • Yes you are correct BUT Alonso's teammate FISICO also driving same car was not as good. After the damper was banned still Alonso was driving good eg. Hungary & China. The RENAULT team made bad pitstops & he lost the 2 races. You can say he had MICHELINS but see where did his teammate & other teams with MICHELINS finish behind Ferrari & Schumi. Alonso was driving more conservatively in last part of season coz he just had to finish in points not come 1st to be WDC but he had luck in JAPAN.

  • Your view is wrong amigo. I have the 2006 season DVD I see this race many times. It was raining before race started not during race SO Everyone was on Full Wet Setup. It stopped raining in second half BUT Alonso was in the lead ALREADY after his final Pit-Stop Renault botched his pitstop they did not attach rear right tyre wheel nut properly & he spun out after second pitstop in the barrier.

  • Japan'06 deicded the WDC. Alonso was 6th then came up to 2nd & was 8 seconds behind Schumi with all pitstops done with 15 laps to go. Schumi had to push again & the Ferrari engine BLEW.Alonso could have overtaken him I'm sure coz in Japan'05 Alonso overtook Schumi 2 times in 1 race! I don't recall any driver overtaking Schumi 2 times in 1 race on the track. Yes the Ferrari was bad in'05 but still Kimi just managed to overtake Schumi in that race & he won it.

  • schumi in his final 2 years was nothing compared to the past due to the car he was in, in 2005 i remember him finishing 8th most of the time and therefore although alonso is a great driver his competition for the title wasnt as big as it would be today. The mclarens were also fairly poor as they were very unreliable, remember the european gp in i think 2006 when raikonnen was leading in the final lap and then his wheel came off and alonso took the victory.

  • Yes you are also Correct Schumis car was bad & he was not in his prime he should have retired in 2004 BUT I've been watching Schumi since his first race I didn't used to like Alonso before I cried when Schumis engine blew in Japan'06 THEN I see Alonso in the SAME MOULD as Schumi same fighting spirit determination just driving style is different.I now consider Alonso to be a better all round driver than Schumi it's hard for MYSELF to say it but its truth & I used to rate Schumi higher than Senna!

  • You are talking of European GP of 2005. I think it was in Nurburgring. Kimi was 40 seconds ahead he could've still won it BUT Kimi always drives FAST it doesnt matter if hes first or last he just pushes the car to the limit he could have won it if he would've slowed down a bit. Kimi is now driving a bit more sensibly as you can see in France this year.

  • In truth i find it difficult to compare senna and alonso as like you when he was in his prime i was very young, in fact i was 5 when he died so i never watched him. But you could say that the fact that he was killed outlined the point that driving was more dangerous in those days and therefore overtaking was always a daring manouver unlike today where there are many run off areas and even if there isn't the car's protect you, take kubica in canada last year as prove.he would of died 10 years ago

  • Overtaking always was difficult YES drivers now have more advantages BUT still it's tough you can't deny that. I suppose Alonso would have also lost his life in Brazil 2003 if the safety was like the old days. Talking about Senna I see Lewis to be very much like him in his driving style & he has the same Senna-esque ATTITUDE. Lewis helmet is also same as Senna's almost. I suppose he considers him to be his idol. Still everyone supports their own for me it used to be Schumi now its Alonso.
