Listen to the amazing obbligato basset horn (kind of a clarinet, but able to hit lower notes). Mozart wrote it for Anton Stadler, who also had invented the basset clarinet, for which Mozart had already written his Clarinet Quintet K581, and his Clarinet Concerto K622 was completed directly after this opera (La clemenza di Tito). In this aria, the basset horn perfectly complements the vocal part, enhancing this definitely NOT boring work.
@moghedien13 Yeah i didn't know either!! i was surprised when i saw this and had to listen to it. i love Bartoli. I would also like to know when she did this too!
I can only think you're not familiar with this aria to consider it "a bit boring." Read up on its placement in the opera - get into the lyrics. Close your eyes and let the melodies do their work on your tear ducts. Then listen to it again for the fantastic interplay between orchestra and singer. This is one of the greats.
you think this is boring? let me clarify. do u think it is boring because of faults on the the singers part or do u think the aria itself is boring and one of mozart's less inspired works?
the aria is absolutely wonderful , Mozart is as always fantastic, the perfection
singing brings me so much joy

Fantastic singing mechanism in an extremely difficult yet a bit boring Mozartian aria

Bartoli as always sings perfectly ;)

@LohengrinT Bartoli is much more than a singing mechanism. I'm not even going to address your issues with the aria.

@90lysander
im afraid in her late years she is nothing more than a singing machine and nothing less that a dead bore that has nothing to do with music
