I might, if I wished, compare this with Rose Gad and partner (?) on DVD. However, there are times when comparisons are invidious, and I think this one. Late at night and very tired, I didn't even notice that the dancers were Russian - and didn't suspect at all that they might have been as I watched their beautiful performance. Thanks for letting me see it.

This is one of the better Russian danced Flower Festivals I've seen,. Both dancers are tasteful and restrained - little of the gross italicizing common in Russian performances of Bournonville. Good dancing, but they miss most of the expressive points that are meant to be communicated through the dancing.
