One thing I do love about her show is how she treats guests with whom she disagrees civilly and respectfully. You will not catch her shouting down, drowning out, or cutting the mike of a guest. She can use her words like little daggers or swords to slay the bonehead arrogant or dumb enough to debate her. That is why I watch her show. She is very intelligent, passionate, and well informed. She truly seems to care about people , and I have never seen her be mean-spirited in her confrontations.

I think Maddow is basically the best person on any 'news' channel. I wouldn't call her a journalist or reporter, but she is more factual than just a commentator or pundit. I'd call her a news observer with a liberal bent. She's extremely reasonable and intelligent.

Almost every criticism I've seen of Maddow refers in some way to her being a lesbian, being 'butch', ugly, or boyish...which makes me realize that none of these people can take her on when it comes to issues...she destroys them.
