my lock pin is jammed in.... at the bottem and is snapped off so the actuall top porportion comes out but the rest is tuck in. will i still be able to remove the whole works?
way to show the easy one. this does not work on 72 chevelles. NOBODY wants to show those. and the blogs that do show these dont tell you the right way. i just played hell trying to get the key lock out. the older ones dont have that screw. you suck dude. show the harder one. if you know how that is.
i have a 1990 oldsmobile 88 i replaced the key cylinder but it still feels like nothing is working and now it wont go back into park or start i have full battery power and when i turn the key to start it the key wont spring back to the run positon anyone with advise please help.
This is a good video, but there is a piece behind the ignition switch I need to replace. I don't know what its called or how to replace it. The groves on it has been worn down. Can you help me with the name of this part.
Hey i have a 1979 Chevrolet custom deluxe 10, the lever that goes in the column for my blinker came out, i need to put it back in but I have to remove that black metal plate with the divets in it( you removed immediately after you took steering wheel off), to remove the plate do you absolutely HAVE to use that U shaped tool? I need help ASAP
thank you for this video, it helped alot ... i wasn't to happy about having to remove all the inner parts to get to the cylinder until you showed the tools for it...
after watching your vid, looks simple and easy. I just might do mine. My switch won't turn to start the car, keys go in and it turns but won't start car. so I had to splice into the purple starter wire and the red positive wire to hot wire it. Is this the same procedure for steering wheels equipped with tilt and telescope? That's what I have in my 80 cad coupe.
My '84 K30 didn''t have the Torx screw, but the spring-plate like srr37 told.
There is an rectangular (with a little bend) opening right above, if you look good you can see a black plat of about 1cm by 2mm, you have to push that while in and while you try to take the cilinder out.
Didn't need to buy special tools, I took a thick 8mm iron plat, drilled 2 holes in it on right place, 2 longer bolts and 2 nuts. And the horn springs were lazy.
Anyway the video was goed, thanks from Dutch Netherlands
older ones do not have a screw, they have a spring retainer near the end of lock - take a small flat screwdriver and push in- sometimes you have to punch thru the metal casting to hit it (hard to find if 1st time)
