@CDN160 i'm rooting for either villopoto or reed. Dungey is my favorite rider but i don't see him winning it, unless he's able to get a win under his belt soon. i like the top five though. Villopoto, Reed, Stewart, Dungey, and Canard. all these guys are freaking great. i am in love with this season. so much more exciting than last years!

dungey has #1 plate and rarely threw down the fastest lap, vili is leading this season and isnt throwing down the fastest. its not rocket science to see that consistency is key not reckless raw speed. shaping up to be a cracker.

@stuman1650 Lap for lap, he is fastest... there's no denying it. Very seldom is the 7 not atop the time tower during practice. However, like someone already said, the fastest person can be defined as the fastest person to finish all 20 laps. Stewart still has the most raw speed, as bad as I hate to admit it...

He is the fastest.. Have you seen some of the jumps he clears, that no one else was doing? .. Have you seen him put down some of the fastest lap times compare to everyone else.

Stewart just needs to get with the flow and smooth.. He goes to fast and gets out of control and wrecks.

If he goes fast and smooth. He would be winning every race. But, he makes mistakes.. He needs to be smooth..

@LightningMAS the team he is on doesnt do outdoors. maybe they plan on it this year, i dont really know. IF stewart can keep the bike up for 20 laps while he has his 2 minute burts he will be fast, but he cant and he never has. Villopoto can match his speed and keep it upright. I dont care if he can quad quad a section because he will try to pull that line out of his ass and mess up. Until he can go fast and consistent he is deffinately not the fastest guy on the planet

@macroevolve The same thing happened 2 me n my 80cc days & i wasnt as lucky as stewart. I broke all my front teeth out & busted my radiator! Needless 2 say, my day was done. I didnt have 2 run as far as stewart tho! The front wheel must at least touch the crown of a jump 2 stop the forward gyroscopic force, yet it doesnt have 2 compress. Simple mistake.

stewart showed ticker getting back on the pace after the wreck, im guessing stewart wont set any lap records next race..... reeds doin what he does best- riding smart and fast and consistent podiums ala dungey last year. rv has couple of gifts in a row, but he,ll take them....great season.

Go jump out of the back of a pick up headfirst doing say 40-50 mph +/-, get right back up, kick start your motorcycle after dragging it off a jump, and race against the fastest riders on the planet, and start making passes. Just ridiculous, but I will venture to say he was also fortunate to have gone down in a section of loomy and loose soil, I have crashed on hard pack dirt and loomy or sandy soil, and I don't have to explain to all of you who also know, its a big difference.

@siral000 It was a mega smash, no doubt. I've taken my fair share, but he was most likely third gear, lugging up the face for a nice seat hop. NOT 40-50 mph... probably more like 25 tops. You don't roll once and pop up when you crash going 40. It takes time for your momentum to decrease... i.e. Alessi's Red Bud crash. Also, Stewart's bike was running until he dragged it off the jump, but he was too dazed to grab the clutch..

@figaggio When your in your 20's (25) you bounce back easier from a crash than, lets say a 40 yr. old.

In my early twenties I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle, my front wheel jamed in the front wheel well of a car..at about 30 mph (car was going 30, me about 20)....threw me on the pavement hard, slid across the pavement with the bare skin of my right side. I sat there for awhile, got up, went home with my bike that had a pretzel as a front wheel.

I wish Ralph LaSheen would loose the " Stewart/Villopoto,/etc Throws it away" ...That's not what is happening here. RC lapped up to 4th in the 2000 Daytona SX. McGrath 2nd and he was loosing about 2-3 sec a lap.
