  • I think there needed to be more reaction shots from "Reggie". What made the original sketches so funny were Keanan Thompson's stone faced reactions to Dakota's subtle put downs.

  • Ha! Very funny and very cute! KUDOS to all those involved!!!

  • rather watch this than SNL anyday...

  • I liked it but it was rude to make abiail look like a fat dumb girl.

  • LMAOOO.

    that was sooo funny!

  • Is it just me or does the girl that plays Abagail Breslin sort of resemble Ellen Page?!

  • this was super hilarious and this remake was brilliant i think you guys did justice to this sketch u made it perfectly and then what makes it so awesome is that ur actors were good and funny great job

  • On behalf of my students, thank you!

  • SNL reached a new low when they did the Dakota Fanning sketch. Lorne Michaels should have been ashamed of himself, but he is probably beyond any capacity for human feeling.

  • That's bullshit. It was a funny sketch and they nailed how intelligent Dakota is.

    ty

  • this isnt right they copied snl

  • That was the assignment! Get a sketch, perform it. They didn't copy, they USED the actual script from SNL.

    That was the whole point.

  • @sharingun73 i really hope yr a little kid and not actually 37. hoo boy.

  • She is so cute and funny! I appreciate the effort.

  • I'm a Dakota and Abigail fan, but I didn't like the SNL sketch. I felt they were saying Abigail's performances have been mediocre and less and her work in Little Miss Sunshine being effortless while Dakota's over here saying she gets raped and has worked with notable actors such as DeNiro. And yah, sure it's a parody meant to make fun but in order for a joke to work and be funny there's gotta be truth behind the words.

That being said though, this was a very very good performance.

  • Fair enough. I always understand that some comedy won't appeal to everyone, but thanks for the assessment of the kids. I thought they did a great job, too.

  • yah I got nothing against them in this video, they did well, I was looking to rant off about it if I saw the real SNL sketch but saw this one instead. Now I feel better having said that haha

Very good and I think it was just as funny if not funnier than the sketch itself! It was kinda of funny near the end when the Dakota parody was hesitant to say 'rape'

those fun class assignments remind me of why I enjoy acting :-)

  • Well I personally thought that the sketch was actually portraying Dakota to be what she is and that precocious. Its not a negative thing to be intellectual and Dakota herself is probably more mature than 98% of the kids at my school. Its not an attack, its just making fun of the fact that a kid way beyond her years would be watching Charlie Rose and Bill Maher and how she probably cant relate to other child actors, let alone kids. Hell her precociousness is what lands her parts, kudos to her <3

  • To the rather moronic person who said this wasn't from SNL:

It aired in Feb. 2007. Google it. If you know how.

  • Are they making fun of how intelligent Dakota Fanning is for a 14 year old? Making fun of intelligence is never cool, nor funny.

  • First, "they"=Saturday Night Live. This is a SNL sketch. + these kids are intelligent,if they are poking fun at intelligence, they're poking fun at themselves. The sketch is a parody of Dakota Fanning's success and sophistication. And because she is intelligent AND famous, it's a comment on how a child star has to cope in an adult world. Btw, if SNL was joking about intelligent kids, so what? That's what comedy is: Dealing with the serious in a satirical manner.

  • I agree with most of what you said, and I can understand parody. And it may be a comment on how a child has to cope with an adult world. But I find something a little disconcerting about it, when you portray being intelligent as "not cool". This is portraying her as an "oddity", something not of the norm. Something to be laughed at. Perhaps I didn't get the irony, but if I didn't get it, I wonder how many teens didn't get it either?

  • I teach nothing but teens, and every one of them got it, as did the teachers, but I appreciate your comment. You might try writing a letter to SNL if this continues to bother you. It's their sketch.

  • Ha! It sure is, JT! (This IS JT, isn't it?)

By the way, if anyone talks to Cassidy, please tell her I have her Punch Line DVD!

  • =D Look Its Me =D
