what the fuck is this? why does a sports organisation like the GAA associate itself with this heritage bollocks. i love football and hurling, but the GAA needs a good cleansing.
@frolicwitme theyre sports. thats all there should be to it. i dont have a problem with the music and dance but sports fans shouldnt have to hear it. they should have their own organisations.
the GAA was set up to promote irish pastimes! Scor was set up by the GAA stating "The Association shall actively support the Irish language, traditional Irish dancing, music, song and other aspects of Irish culture." again preserving our heritage! you askd "why does a sports organisation like the GAA associate itself with this heritage bollocks", because if it didnt you wudnt have a sport, language or music to complain about, we wud hav lost wat it is to be irish!! the gaa is more than sport!!!
@Noddy1690 these "terrorists" died for our rights & our freedom from persecution! the Irish were 2nd class citizens, bullied & murdered for years, punished for speaking their national tongue & for practicing their religion! these "terrorists" deserve more than to be slagged, they were brave beyond belief! Its appropriate to name clubs after them, they remind us of what our fathers went through. We should not be ashamed of our history and its quite sad that we cant honour those that died for us!
@Noddy1690 are you serious? are you really asking what persecution the irish went through? we could go as far back at the 16th century if you want? we can talked about the penal laws of 17th century, if you dont know what that was...google it!! we could talk about the major discriminations the catholics endured later in NI not gettin proper housing or jobs we could talk about interment! they were brave because they died for their country, remember the hunger strikers?? thats brave beyond belief!
@goldenhair18 What's brave about not eating and covering yourself in pooh? Presbyterians were affected by the Penal laws and not just the papists. The RCs in Ulster have good houses and some of them wouldn't really be worth employing. Loyalists were interned too.
@Noddy1690 killing yourself for ur country is a brave thing to do, youre just being twisted, the penal laws wer directd towards catholics mainly, u cant twist d facts like u want to, RC in NI do now, remember bloody sunday? peaceful protest against unfair housin & unfair unemployment? they wer shot dead! its not a figmint of peoples imaginations, the facts are there. In reguards to ur ignorant comment about them not being worth employing, i have no comment, youve just shown that your bigoted!
I hate to say that, specially when a friend of I (Peter) is on the tape, but I dislike this video for 2 reasons :
1 - The music is too "dry", too mechanical. I know that the talent of the musician is not the problem. It's just some artistic choice that I don't like.
2 - I never saw this "Hurling dance" before, and I doubt it is traditional. It appears more like a primary school show to me.
(Not to mention that the music is slower than the dancers...)
Brona Graham is an unbelievable banjo player, just because you cant play it doesnt mean you have to dis anyone else r their instrument..if you`ve nothing nice to say dont say it at all!!!! Go Brona!!!!:)
Will ya pull on the ground ta fuk...g`wan ya good thing!!! :) :) :)

Not really sure what to make of that, maybe more vigorous use of the hurleys is needed...bit of flaking to liven things up.

@goldenhair18 The GAA has clubs and grounds named after republic terrorists it sounds like the athletic wing of the IRA.
