Everyone who likes modes and cheats instead of modding and chancing a virus or something just use the command codes for PC these were put in the game on purpose so just look up the command codes and you can do some awesome stuff.

To let you click"Data Files" -For windows 7 idk for xp :go to "My Documents\My Games\Skyrim" you will find two files "Skyrim.ini" and "SkyrimPrefs.ini" open "SkyrimPrefs.ini" in notepad then search for [Launcher] under it write "bEnableFileSelection=1" so it will lokk like this:

@DaherProductions If you want to you could download the Nexus Mod Manager so you don't have to go to data files to organize your mods and update them, but if that doesn't work try turning off your User Account Control (UAC, should be in control panel if you have Windows Vista or 7)

@hhAndrew If you want to it isn't such a bad idea, you'd just have to go to your Steam folder and find steamapps and Skyrim should be in your common folder, but if you don't most mods should tell you how to uninstall them and it shouldn't effect your base Skyrim game (unless it is a full out graphics mod for it, then you probably should have it backed up)

@ZTserenity You probably want to be careful and not over do it. There is an excellent program called Nexus Mod Manager... I think it would be good for you to check out. I'm thinking about making a tutorial video about the program and how to use it tomorrow..

I had a similar problem as gamerzombie but I tried with a curse mod that changed the dragonscale armor texture. there were 4 different textures and it worked when i had just the one but after i downloaded the others it didn't work and none of my mods show up in the data files window for steam

Once I open up the Data file I can open the interface, strings, and video files other than that I couldn't open anything. I got a windows message saying it needed a program to open it with. It recommended I use a program called 7-zip file manager and now every time I try to open any of the files besides interface, strings, and video, I get an error message saying "cannot open (location of file) as archive". Please help.

Hello, i tried installing the glowing ore mod but it didn't work. It says that it opens with Windows Media Player (obviously doesn't make sense) while all the other files say they open with Windows Shell Common. How do I change the file to open with Windows Shell Common or is there another problem?

Please don't tell people to check load loose files. It doesn't mean load all the extra stuff. It means load the unfinished mods that you are working on. I'm sorry that Bethesda named it so poorly but I'm tired of telling people to uncheck load loose files so that my texture replacers will work.
