  • I don't even like country music but I'm in love with this <3

  • @Bbloveyou21 This is bluegrass, actually. I don't particularly like country, but I love bluegrass.

  • I covered this song with my brother a few weeks ago. The video is on our youtube channel, we'd really really appreciate it if you take THREE minutes to just check it out! Thank you :)

  • i was born yesterday and this is my favourite movie

  • REPEAT

  • Lololol.

    I remember when i was a kid,my parents played this a lot.

    golden days i tell ya.

  • had to sing this in front of the classroom.... forgot i had to.... smoke 4 bowls... i was the best of every1 and got an A+... i love weed

  • something something something and I'm only 11.

  • The repeat button is getting mad at me.

  • I've reached a conundrum. I want to listen to this song, but to do so I have to first watch the advert for the woman in black, after having just seen the film. I don't want to put myself through that again.. but it's a REALLY good song.. what to do..

  • this is my favorite movie of all time and I'm only 13.

  • Thumbs up if you came here after listening to Watsky and Mody.

  • @shanksubplayman "...yes, indeed."

  • *WE* are a generation of constant sorrow.

  • 3 people were born without ears.

  • like watskys versions better

  • George Watsky.

  • "Boys Boys that was a miiiighty fine a-pickin' and a-singin'. I'll tell you what, you come on in here and sign these papers here and I'm a gonna pay you ten dollars a piece."

  • There's actually 6 of us but the other 2 can't spell..or speak in any case.

  • "Well we was fixin' tah fornicate!"

    waitress: o.0

  • i hate country but..this song is phenomenal

  • @touchmytubs This is not country. This divine music is not in any way like the recordings of people getting on stage to melodically list things associated with their childhood without using any figurative language or creative lyrics while at the same time defining masculinity by their alcohol consumption, their ability to only view their surroundings through the eyes of a double-digit IQ mind, yearly deer killing rate, and the size of their non-commercial use pick-up truck. Sorry for the rant.

  • @HammerStroke93 I second that. Everything you just said. Except for the apology at the end.

  • DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE!!!!!!!

  • just finished watching this movie itwas on abc family

  • We just started watching this movie in Mythology! I couldn't help but looking up the song because it sounded familiar. But I have no idea where to place it. Hehe

  • I'm 15. This song is amazing. I love this movie too.<3

  • @SpeckleDorfer no one cares about your age. least I don't

  • care for some gopher?

  • @burningburney94

No thanks, dude...if I had a bit of gopher, that'd only make me peckish for more...

  • AWESOME Song! Thanks for Uploading! Great Movie if people have never seen it. Also Alison Krauss rocks down to the river to pray!

  • "i dont want FOP dammit! im a Dapper Dan man!"

  • damn were in a tight spot!

  • yep

  • "I'M GEORGE NELSON, AND I'M FEELING TEN FEET TALL!!!"

  • Man of Constant Sorrow, a traditional American folk song first recorded by Dick Burnett, a blind fiddler from Kentucky. Was originally recorded by Burnett as "Farewell Song" printed in a Richard Burnett songbook in1913. An early version was recorded by Emry Arthur in1928. There is uncertainty whether Dick Burnett himself wrote the song. One claim is that it was sung by the Mackin clan in1888 in Ireland and that Cameron O'Mackin emigrated to Tennessee, brought the song with him, and performed it.

  • Hmmm.... So we meet again, 240p.

  • lets give that color boy a lift

  • really, only 37000 other views than my own?

  • I AM A DAPPER DAN MAN!

  • Bona fide!

  • I always wanted to know how it would have sounded if Clooney actually sang this...

  • i am trying to find the alternate version of this song which is found on the soundtrack - any help ?

  • @Dadutta I'll try and post it. I know which one you're talking about.

  • @Dadutta God me too, I'm glad you can confirm the other version exists because looking on Youtube seems to be an exercise in futility.

  • Damn we're in a tight spot!

  • "These boys is not white, these boys is not white. Hell they anet even old timers."

  • i can sing this song

  • I LOVE this song, and this accoustic version in particular;it's rougher around the edges and more emotional, which I think is more in keeping with the lyrics(That being said,I DO love the other one as well!) Thanks for posting it!

  • Damn, this song's the best

  • We're in a tight spot!

  • I am a (Wo)man of constant sorrow!

  • @71crm Sorry to hear that. Hugs from vienna. ^^

  • @Astuga Aww! It feels great to get a hug from someone I don't even know, but is very sympathic!

  • Hot damn! Its the soggy Bottom Boys!

  • Who did this song?????? 'preciate it

  • @s0up3rman Dan Tyminski of Union Station

  • @sloopjohnb324 thank you sir

  • @s0up3rman Bill Monroe was the original I think.

  • @Breckengoure yep i believe your right. Tyminski sings it on the movie though.

  • @Breckengoure Bill Monroe did record it as did many artists over the years. The history of the song is a bit of a mystery as no oone has ever been named the original writer or artist. Regardless, it's an amazing song. This is by far my favorite version.

  • @Breckengoure Bob Dylan did it way before Bill Monroe did

  • @Breckengoure I'm pretty sure it was Dick Burnett who recorded or just wrote it, i'm not sure which, originally in 1913.

  • @s0up3rman I think the Stanley Brothers may have been first though I'm not positive. This is one of my favorite versions. I saw Allison Crouse & her band doing it on TV (Austin City Limits?) once and that even topped this one. This is a badass song with great guitar work.

  • @s0up3rman Ralph Stanley.

  • If you like this, check out the Happy Song by Rat Stomp :)
