I like your videos, always very informative. I don't have all of the equipment that you have so I stay open minded on everything that I can use to make it. Keep up the great work.
@45calvet That is what this is all about for me. I am merely showing what I am doing and how. Not just talking in my basement on a couch. But I want to show what I have done and that it works. If that prompts someone to think about possibilities in their world, great.
love the nh mh batteries and adapters been using them for a while and there still going strong , do you use any of the dc chargers ? I have a couple for the aa and aaa but im looking for a good aaa - 9volt unit that vill charge off 12 volt , any sugestions? ...keep up the good work
@DaytonaRoadster Well, I would love to argue that point with you, but I am not the one hanging out on your channel looking for info. But there is a very way to fix this problem for both of us, so we can get back to more important thing. I will fix it.
yankee.. love the videos... one question that i have not heard you talk about..little thing..the flashlight that is below your power box...where did you get it and what did it cost...
I have found these solar powered chargers for AA batteries Im consider purchasing. Small and compact and recharge 4 batteries with sun energy. I think that is a useful tool for free energy charging of AA batteries.
Hi, new subscriber to your channel. Nice vid! One thing that I'd like to suggest is that while the C and D cell spacers for AAs are good in a pinch, in my experience they are not an ideal substitute for a real C or D cell. They simply don't last as long. They do have the benefit of being rechargable, but I find my recharger gets enough use already. JMO.
I don't know of a single brand or product out there featuring a crank mini dynamo that is made to last or built to take continuous use. And the internal rechargable batteries in many of the units are not replaceable. Not without a soldering iron anyway.
In most cases they are a short term use weekend camping item. I have a few myself, but i would not feature them on my channel as a SHTF item.
For those folks without a battery backup system in the house, you can find a solar battery charger that will recharge AA, AAA, C, & D batteries for about $30 or less. That is a very cheap way to insure that you can use flashlights, a radio, etc. in a SHTF situation.
If I were your adversary, the first thing I'd do is put a 308 bullet right through your solar panel. That's what I worry about in a worst case scenario.
Great job and very timely as I am currently looking to buy batteries. I have a tactical flashlight which takes 123A batteries. Looking to buy in bulk. Any suggestions? What is good price? What is good brands? What brands to avoid? Rechargeable when grid goes down? Or combination of rechargeable and nonrechargeable.??? Thanks again.
I saw you had a couple LED socket bulbs on the table. What were the prices and where did you find them. I have started to search, seem pretty high priced yet. Thanks
Sam's c;ub is starting to carry them, not very bright but might come in handy if you are trying to conserve electricity and running on batteries. Forgot to show them, thanks fro asking.
Hybrid batteries are the best. I have 40 Duracell Precharged which is a hybrid. Hybrids hold and maintain the charge like a normal battery. Rechargeable don't hold the charge as long.
@Yankeeprepper I have the duracell rechargeables and they wont hold a charge very long but anyway hey, Can you do a video on your solar set up for your home. My dream is to own a home that is totally green on 500 acres in like Kansas or somewhere like that. I have lived in Chicago all my life and I am so sick of the traffic and most of all the horrible weather.
Great video again Yankee, stuffed full of prime info all the way through.
I still like lanterns and all, but I have my electronics and tons of rechargeables, though it looks like I've just seen some more stuff I NEED! Great tech fix!
Before I got smart, I spent a stupid amount of money on one Surefire and one Pelican. But now, I shop the sportsmans guide. I can't believe the power of some of the lights and so cheap. The high lumen lights are really coming down.
I have the parafin lamps too. They're really crappy and dangerous to use just like candles which I also have many many of. but I wouldn't use any of them until I had to .Like you I have loads of solar powered, wind up and dynamo powered torches and lanterns. I have lots of solar panels so I can use that to charge them. I also have a load of 12v lights which are pretty good.
love the videos brother.. instead of making survival a hard task I love the common sense and how easy survival can be based on the technology we have right here..
I didn't have good luck with the Duracell, but I have heard great things about lithium rechargeable batteries and I really appreciate the eneloop review as that is exactly what i have been looking for! I too have stocked up on candles and oil lamps but I also am planning for electronics and that plain includes a solution for limited means of electrical power as well. thanks for the great video.
