  • Nice thunderbolt. It seems to be changing pitches just a little bit.

  • what is it, that is soo intrigueing about sirens?

  • @dritb4 Federal Signal says that 2001s are 127dBc at 100 feet while the T-bolt is 125/126dBc at 100 feet but since Federal's accuracy of dBc ratings is off, the T-bolt should be louder cause its penetration is a lot stronger then 2001s.

  • Sounds really good, even looks good. Shame it's going to go soon.

  • yay is it staying there :)

  • @8534951 Not for long. Redford has already began installing 2001s. This will remain up for a couple more months though.

  • Great Video Dan!thats a Healthy Thunderbolt 1000!

  • oh my god they are still use thats grate just a question why did they keep the siren i thort they wanted to upgrade any way nice to know

  • @russelD9 Well eventually this siren will be replaced but I don't know when though.

  • these sirens r decommissioned?? that sucks really wanted 2 listen 2 the one on top of city hall:(

  • @amtrak3501 Eric has a recording of the City Hall 1000T.

  • i heard the 2001 in Attack at the end how long did the Attack Signal go for and did the Thunderbol 1000 activate for the Attack

part of the test too also i would of been nice if you kep the video going until the end of the Attack Signal

  • The siren you were hearing in the background AFTER this winded down was Emerson Middle School's 3016 winding down. This T-bolt doesn't run Attack Signal.

  • did this siren get replaced yet?

  • Nope.

  • they probalbly deceded not to replace this siren

  • No Its going to be replaced. Redford just can't afford to right now.

  • The exact same type of siren is right next to my school and is still blasting strong. Im happy about that.

  • nice thunderbolt also check out tornado siren in fox river grove

  • Comment removed

  • i like thunderbolts cuz they rotate around so ppl can here them even no new york state doesnt have tornado sirens

  • Sad that they're going to get rid of this one. Still looks and sounds great.

  • Dan, are you going to record the removal of this siren?

  • Maybe maybe not.

  • A 2001-130 is only one decibal louder than this. ONE!! And they are replacing it? I hate it when the battery backup comes into question.

  • I dought the 2001-130 will be louder then this. These Thunderbolts are C series which means they should have an equal dB level with the 130s but since 1000s sound has better penetration, its really out of the question if the new siren is going to be any louder then this.

  • 1050hzsinewavetone's account had been suspended by a maniac preacher (Robert Tilton) over copyright issues. So now the same guy who's username was 1050hzsinewavetone is now under the username 856956sinewavetones.

now i have to re-upload ALL My videos including my siren videos and you can all thank a stupid televangalist named Robert Tilton for doing this!

  • why are all og your god sirens getting replaced by 2001's?

  • dudee i live in north redford and when i was at my friends baseball game (in south redford) it was reely loud bc we were rite next to it

  • i have a Q, i noticed the sky was very Grey and menacing looking, was that a monthly test for the twp or was that a real warning? just wondering please responde.

  • Well if you read the title, it explains that this was sounding for its monthly test. It was raining that day but no this wasn't a tornado warning.

  • followacristjareo, The grey, dreary sky is typical weather in Michigan. I used to live near this location. I don't miss it at all, I like having sunlight.

  • What series? A or C

  • It has to be C series.

  • You mean the 131 db sirens??

  • sounds like a fart in the very beggining of the siren if you pasued it

  • What I think is kinda weird, is that 1000's sound like 2001's

  • I'm sure the Mount Airy 1000 in Cinnicati (sp?) OH is higher pitched than a 2001-130.

  • If you want to buy this siren, you have to contact West Shore Fire Services and talk to Jeff who is the owner of West Shore Fire Services about wanting to buy it. They are the ones who are responsible for updating Wayne County's tornado sirens. It should not cost more then $600 but the shipping is a nightmare.

  • It's the sound. The 1000T sounds weird and creepy.

  • It's supposed to sound creepy, duh

  • I like 1000's.They're better than dual toned 1000Ts

  • i live in new york so we dont get to hear these great sirens :(

  • When was this 'bolt installed?

  • Great sound!

  • that must suck. If our town ever expands it's warning sirens, I will mention about the possibilities of getting a refurbished Thunderbolt, and the benefits of saving money for more important things

  • It's a shame they are replacing it. Did they give a explanation why they are replacing a fully functional siren?

  • Nice 1000. I guess I am used to single tone sirens since that's all we have in town

  • I'm starting to like the 1000s for some reason. Awesome video.
