It is supercharged, new cold air in take. new exsausted, and a lot of other things. When him and I went to a carshow... We beat all the "rice burners" all the mustangs, the Cobra almost beat us. We are doing a bunch of stuff to it this winter and then it will have 655 HP. Besides all of that the Camaro has the Mustang beat on the looks for sure.

And yes Clarkson complained about his GT but he also complained about the Zr1 when he test drove it. I love Top Gear but they are always biased against American cars. And if you want more numbers, a stock Mach 1 which was a n/a 4.6L has ran 13.20s in the 1/4 and they were produced in 03-04.

@heartboy86 Hate to break it to you but 03-04 Cobras have cut 12.40s while I've seen stock 07-11 Shelby GT500's run 12.20s. The new 2012 GT500 has already cut an 11.90 bone stock and 11.50 with nothing more than drag radials. These are all recorded numbers so do research. The ZL1 Vette you mentioned was made in 1969 and only 2 were produced. The Sledgehammer is a Callaway, therefore an aftermarket tuner car. Besides Vettes are sports cars, not pony cars like mustang and camaro.

Of course the ZL-1 motor was a dealer installed option and not a Chevy factory car. But I will give you that one. As for the future ZL-1 that is supposed to be coming out next year, it does have the muscle to give the GT500 a run but we will have to wait and see what the final result will be. The weight of Mustangs and Camaros lately are really killing their times.
@heartboy86 Yes but that was with the addition of headers and drag slicks. Only 69 total cars were produced and they were special dealer ordered cars. The one that ran in the 10's was done by Dick Harrell and it was modified beyond how he bought it. Of course 5 years previously Ford had introduced the Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt which ran 11.60's right out of the factory. Either way I like the Ford vs Chevy competition, just wish they could team up against imports.

There also several kits that make more hp then the stock gt500 at the same boost levels. You can beat a gt500 (even a modded gt500) in a blown gt its not that difficult. Like I said aftermarket boost owns factory boost its just common sense.
Are you serious? You can't "guesstimate" boost based off of blower whine.If you could people wouldn't bother with the annoying gauges. I have driven blown v8's before. With various different pulleys on to effect boost. There was no real audible difference, I even removed the pulley all together so there was no boost blower still made noise.
I think people get a lil too caught up in this chevy vs ford thing. What you really have here is factory supercharged (conservative boost) vs aftermarket supercharged (agressive boost) Of course aftermarket supercharged has the advantage. Realistically a ZL1 is probably going to loose to a aftermarket supercharged camaro also.

Umm, we had a 91 tempo that had oil leaks and transmission issues after only 3 years. Every time we fixed one problem, another popped up. It was the only car I ever sent to the junk yard while still having a balance on the loan. Had no issues out of any ricers I drove after that. I bought a 2011 camaro 2ssrs 3 months ago and its already been in the shop twice.

And yes Clarkson complained about his GT but he also complained about the Zr1 when he test drove it. I love Top Gear but they are always biased against American cars. And if you want more numbers, a stock Mach 1 which was a n/a 4.6L has ran 13.20s in the 1/4 and they were produced in 03-04.

The new 2012 GT500 has already cut an 11.90 bone stock and 11.50 with nothing more than drag radials. These are all recorded numbers so do research. The ZL1 Vette you mentioned was made in 1969 and only 2 were produced. The Sledgehammer is a Callaway, therefore an aftermarket tuner car. Besides Vettes are sports cars, not pony cars like mustang and camaro.

Of course the ZL-1 motor was a dealer installed option and not a Chevy factory car. But I will give you that one. As for the future ZL-1 that is supposed to be coming out next year, it does have the muscle to give the GT500 a run but we will have to wait and see what the final result will be. The weight of Mustangs and Camaros lately are really killing their times.

@heartboy86 Yes but that was with the addition of headers and drag slicks. Only 69 total cars were produced and they were special dealer ordered cars. The one that ran in the 10's was done by Dick Harrell and it was modified beyond how he bought it. Of course 5 years previously Ford had introduced the Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt which ran 11.60's right out of the factory. Either way I like the Ford vs Chevy competition, just wish they could team up against imports.

With various different pulleys on to effect boost. There was no real audible difference, I even removed the pulley all together so there was no boost blower still made noise.

I think people get a lil too caught up in this chevy vs ford thing. What you really have here is factory supercharged (conservative boost) vs aftermarket supercharged (agressive boost) Of course aftermarket supercharged has the advantage. Realistically a ZL1 is probably going to loose to a aftermarket supercharged camaro also.

Umm, we had a 91 tempo that had oil leaks and transmission issues after only 3 years. Every time we fixed one problem, another popped up. It was the only car I ever sent to the junk yard while still having a balance on the loan. Had no issues out of any ricers I drove after that.
