To be honest....I like this album. I am a lifelong Elvis Fan (grew up with his music) and I agree that his music doesn't need remixes but.....these are cool anyway. The remixes do the original justice because you still recognize the songs. The beat add something fresh. Yep, I like it! Well done!

Elvis loved staying modern and would be thrilled for his songs to be updated and more accessible to younger generations. For the vast majority of young people the originals have too old a sound for them. Once they discover Elvis through these remixes...they are very likely to embrace the originals as well. @davekm43 We do "need this album". You obviously have done very little to learn about the true EP. E absolutely loved to stay modern...he would be thrilled to be embrace by younger generations. AND FOR MOST OF THEM the original stuff sounds too old. Elvis embraced change and wanted to stay current. He was not married to the instrumentals...E's amazing style and artistry comes shining through in his voice. If you knew anything about Elvis you'd know he would love this. And the originals remain.

If you've ever heard the story about "Suspicious Minds" single mix being changed without him knowing under the instruction of Parker. He was not happy with it and just made him more determined to return to performing live. So we do have something to thank Parker for.

@davekm43 P.S. "Way Down" was current in '77 just like "Hearbreak Hotel" was in '56. If he was alive today & still recording he would be doing modern songs in a modern way not changing the original recordings, he never did remixes during his career, & before you say it, there were different mix being releases of albums & tracks at that time. The Beatles released 2 mixes of every album up to the "White Album" in Mono & Stereo & the instruments were also mixed differently. So think what you like!!
