this song is better suited for smith and poca since they were two worlds but with rolfe and poca, he decided to go back with her. Although, i find rolfe and poca is wayy better than smith. There may have been more chemistry between smith and poca, but with rolfe it's more than just that, it goes beyond in which he understood her when smith could not&& he even let her free to choose but she chose him in the end. It's not wrong that they changed it, so it wouldn't be cliche despite the history

I actually liked the second movie better myself, even if it was lower quality. I liked Rolfe far better than Smith, and Rolfe is the one that Pocahontas did end up marrying and travelling to England with, so it is a little closer to the true story than the original (albeit still far from reality). With that said, this video is very well made.

Actually there is no proof their wasn't a romance! It would have actually been likely that there was, it was common in the Powhatan Tribes to marry young, so Pocahontas could have easily had a romance with John Smith, but Smith would have never wanted to admit it becuae it British society it would have been morally wrong! xx

If you want to see a more realistic film based on Pocahontas, John Smith and John Rolfe, then watch The New World with Colin Farrell.. It shows how her and JOhn Smith fall in love and how they go their seperate ways, but how they actually always still loved one another.
This song suits John Smith and Pocahontas so much better than it does John Rolfe and Pocahontas. Rolfe is such a tool. But the cheapquel isn't apart of the Walt Disney canon, anyway, so I'm perfectly content with shipping Pocahontas with John Smith :)

I understand the entire history that they teach in school about Pocahahontas and John Smith...there really may have been an attraction between them but no one mentions it. But she married John Rolfe...but Disney's 1st Pocahahontas is so much more magical than the 2nd I wish they would've just made up stuff about John S. and Pocahontas

umm guys disney lied about the romance with john smith he was old enough to be pocahontas father and he thought of her as his daughter they were just close friends he was 20 and she was 12 when they met

Actually there is no proof their wasn't a romance! It would have actually been likely that there was, it was common in the Powhatan Tribes to marry young, so Pocahontas could have easily had a romance with John Smith, but Smith would have never wanted to admit it becuae it British society it would have been morally wrong! xx

the sequel pisses me right off. it startes with her all like, ooooh john smith, you're dead. and then she has a proper bad rebound and goes off with john rolfe, and then he 'rises from the dead' and she's like, ooooh, i'm confused. and then she just pisses of with john rolfe. bloody annoying. even though they do make john rolfe better looking that john smith. but that defies the point. :@

If you want to see a more realistic film based on Pocahontas, John Smith and John Rolfe, then watch The New World with Colin Farrell.. It shows how her and JOhn Smith fall in love and how they go their seperate ways, but how they actually always still loved one another.

This song suits John Smith and Pocahontas so much better than it does John Rolfe and Pocahontas. Rolfe is such a tool. But the cheapquel isn't apart of the Walt Disney canon, anyway, so I'm perfectly content with shipping Pocahontas with John Smith :)

That was a great video I loved it! And to me its the way Pocahontas and John Smith should be, toghter! I know it did'nt happen in real life. But I've always liked John Smith better than John Rolfe. Its' just my oppion, we can always dream can't we? That's why I like fan fiction and this place because you can make your own story about Pocahontas and Smith being back toghter. Its' just only ficton right?

I really do preferr Smith over Rolfe, but history can't be changed. But all the same, I never thought that Billy Zane had such a beautiful singing voice. I mean it's beautiful enough that Mel Gibson sang in the first one, but Billy. . . I never would've guessed it when I first saw the second movie years ago.

wow... you're right about Billy Zane's voice. It sounds so different from his original speaking voice as John Rolfe in the film... but still so beautiful! This a great video, but I also agree with you... I do kinda prefer Smith from Rolfe as well, although I realise he and Pocahontas were never meant to be... that's history!
