  • I think Pocahontas fell in love with John Smith as a younger woman. She kind of grows up and changes once he leaves, but at the end of the sequel, he is still the same as he was...Pocahontas fell in love with John Rolfe because he was like her--he'd seen the world, like she had.

  • @lighthouse5625 you talking about in real life? cuz in real life she was like 10 when she first met smith. a crush maybe but defiantly not love, in a romantic way.

  • @countrystrata I was definitely talking in terms of the movie. And besides, in real life, Pocahontas was kidnapped and then forced to become English and marry John Rolph.

  • Wish Mel Gibson could have sang in this one! Love him in the other songs from the movie.

  • i just realised pocachontas was the first bella in twilight -_-

if u think about it: bella = Pocachontas edward = John smith because she was with him FIRST jacob = john rolf cuz she was with him SECOND

but even bella, no matter how much i hate that movie, is smarter: she went with the one she loved in the FRIST PLACE.

  • @MissViolet241 um no. Pocachontas is nothing like twilight. twilight sinks! besides there's no possible way for her to love smith anyway, in real life, plus this is just a movie. it was a compromise from one Disney guy wanting the typical 'guy gets the girl' and another Disney guy wanting it to be a historically correct movie...THIS was the outcome of that compromise. you can look up on the net and see what really did happen in real life and what did not.

  • @countrystrata not in the mood for arguing, but thatis jsut my opinion. dotn bother replying anymore, i just had to deal with something which lasted 3 years and that douche just broke up with me for no reason in 7 seconds.

  • @MissViolet241 ok ok chill. no arguing intended. and if that person left for no reason then they don't deserve you.

  • @countrystrata sorry, and i mean it, im just moody and sad and all that at the same time...

  • @MissViolet241 nothing like twilight that's all I can say bc Pocohontas would have been around 11 when she met John smith who would have been 20 or 25 that's why they didn't end up together

  • Wahts the name of the song in german? or could someone send me a link? thanks!

  • pocahontas does look beter with joan smith cuz her dsosnt change her but joan rolf and he changes he i love this movie beside she looks unkonferdable in a dress but she look comferdalble in her ownway

  • @Syzelia no actually she's taken captive, John Rolfe marries her in order for her to be free then she gives birth to a child, Thomas, and then she dies from sickness.

  • Screw what really happened, I like her better with Smith!

lol, and I'm studying to be a historian, maybe I should think about a career change :D

  • @koolarkin history is f'ing boring, tho i do like john rolfe better.. >.>

  • I loved this vid! Such good clips and good song! But I wish John Rolfe was in it...I LOVE him, and I LOVE Billy Zane...<3

  • @gab14pixiechic Billy Zane has the hottest voice known to womankind.

  • @poptartdom So. True. <3

  • @gab14pixiechic so i take it u like john rolfe's character? do u like to look at fanart by any chance? o.0

  • @poptartdom I love John Rolfe and John Smith, but I just hate when people say that in the cartoon Pocahontas should've ended up with J.S because in REAL LIFE she ended up with John Rolfe. But yes, I love fan art.

  • @gab14pixiechic Agreed I love them both. But I like JR more and I've made a bunch of fan art on deviantart for the pocahontasxjohn rolfe fandom. you should check out my gallery. my username is ncfwhitetigress.

  • @poptartdom I've seen your two vids on youtube. I watched them. Very cute pics. I'll check out the deviantart stuff too though. =)

  • @gab14pixiechic yea there are some new pics up that havent been included in the youtube video yet

  • @poptartdom Yeah, I saw them. They're good! =)

  • @gab14pixiechic ty u wont believe how many closet rolfe-lovers i've uncovered. pocahontas 2 may not be lost afterall

  • awesome song and awesome vid~

  • why are the most disney figures so perfect and pretty ? :$

  • I DONT CARE WHAT HISTORY SAID i wanted pocahontas to end up with john smith! >:O i remember i was so sad when i was younger watching the second movie because i had such high hopes that they would be reunited lol

  • FUCK JOHN ROLFE!!!!!!!!!! FUCK HIM!!!!!!!!!! JOHN SMITH IS THE ORIGINAL !!! THAT WHORE POCAHONTAS!!!!

  • @TehRoXXX YOU CANT TELL HER WHO TO LOVE!!! D:< SHE IS A FREE SPIRIT, BETCH!

  • good!!!!!

  • Beautiful

  • Ansem's voice, what are you doing out of Kingdom Hearts? Go! Away with you! Shoo!

  • @KazeTeisei ahehe the way you talk is cute :D

  • @KazeTeisei Great. Now I can't listen to this song without picturing Ansem singing it. Thanks a lot. >.<

  • No disrespect to people but can they start commenting on the video itself and not the history of Pocahontas, much appreciated ^_^

  • team smith!!!

  • What Pocahontas loved was the river and the nature and she got to share that with John Smith , she got to show him everything she loved. I don't see John Rolfe jumping in the river .....

  • @sunshine00me he would with enough peer pressure

  • @sunshine00me or if pocahontas was in danger on the other side of the river. e.g. when he dives in the water at the docks to stop the armada.

  • fuck john rolfe !!! In a wierd way smith is sexier and had a greater chemistry with pocahontas in the first film!! ;D

  • this is perfect :D it fits them completely :D

  • this song is better suited for smith and poca since they were two worlds but with rolfe and poca, he decided to go back with her. Although, i find rolfe and poca is wayy better than smith. There may have been more chemistry between smith and poca, but with rolfe it's more than just that, it goes beyond in which he understood her when smith could not&& he even let her free to choose but she chose him in the end. It's not wrong that they changed it, so it wouldn't be cliche despite the history

  • The song suited John Smith, because Pocahontas promised to be there for him, and yet she lied to him, just to get back to that other man. Sequels are supposed to stay true to the originals, not change them.

  • @Jam24511: Pocahontas never lied to Smith and as i said before love changes for some

  • @mygcx I guess tis better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all, right?

  • @mygcx Did you mean that Pocahontas told the truth back then? I hope so, because we never had a prayer changing love in the first place. This whole ridulous plan was just so Disney's made-for-video guys would make money! What I mean is that things were so much simpler before Rolfe came along, before I thought Smith was the one, but not anymore. RIP Old Disney!

  • this video is very well made as the cuttings match the lyrics and the meldy:) appreciate the effort^^ Love Pocahontas and John Smith~

  • when he is not being a jerk on Titanic Billy Zane is a good actor and singer

  • @tregorn

This comment made my night :'D I

  • judy kuhn ftw

  • This song is just...gorgeous. This is officially on the wedding reception playlist.

  • This song is so beautiful! Awesome video! :)

  • I actually liked the second movie better myself, even if it was lower quality. I liked Rolfe far better than Smith, and Rolfe is the one that Pocahontas did end up marrying and travelling to England with, so it is a little closer to the true story than the original (albeit still far from reality). With that said, this video is very well made.

  • @cervanntes: I agree completely because love is different and it changes...Pocahontas still loves Smith but as a friend because her heart has seen Rolfe to be a true gentleman...and Smith is the same he really doesnt love Pocahontas either but he still loves her as a friend.

  • I like John Rolfe and Pocahontas better....and the ending of the 2nd movie is perfect

  • See, now this is much better!!! I hate the 2nd movie. It is a nice song though, I like it. And wow, hearing Billy Zane sing is totally weird cause I'm so used to watching him in Titanic.

  • Disney should have just left it like this, because, in my opinion, this is a beautiful love story :)

  • Wow, that was really well done!

  • Though the movie does not follow the true story I like this song you did a good job.

  • I actually really like Pocahontas and John Rolfe, I draw fan art of both of them :)

  • I would just like to point out that Pocahontas, which was not her real name in the first place, and John Smith were not in love, that is just a myth.

  • @superball94 DUH. we all know this don't think you're so smart everyone knows who Mataoka is. This, however, is fantasyland. So gtfo, no one cares if they were in love or not, they are in Disney's adaptation and it's BEAUTIFUL.

  • @pancakeeaterz I found the song suited Pocahontas and John Smith better, but I do agree, they are a better couple than John Rolfe and Pocahontas :D

  • @finalfantasymad01 Yeah in the movie they are a great couple but i love John Wolfe! and John Wolf and Pocahantus actually did get married in real life xD and Pocahantus and John SMith never fell in love they were more like best friends xD

  • thanks for making this with john smith and not that fancy pants rolph

  • SO BEAUTIFUL...I really wish that they hadn't made the second Pocahontas, because the first one was just PERFECT!!! Screw historical accuracy, they blew that already, so why try to redeem themselves when the movie they created without historical accuracy was so beautiful and true...sorry, that's the end of my rant. LOVED this video!!!

  • what bothers me is that judy kuhn sang this song for pocahontas II, but she didnt voice pocahontas again =[ makes me sad, but a beautiful song

  • @kAylEighChaoS093 wow, I stand corrected. I googled it and apparently Judy Kuhn only did the songs for the first movie, but Irene Bedard did all the talking. Now I feel as if my childhood is shattered. oh well, its the songs i liked most about pocahontas anyways. that and the great love story that apparently isnt historically accurate ( I stick firmly to the disney version =D )

  • WOW!!!! Billy Zane is a good singer!!!

  • this is a really well made vid. great editing and timing!!!

  • wow, the video is really emotional

    TT-TT

the song fits better Pocahontas and John Smith, than the other bastard of the second movie ¬¬

    amazing job :D

  • this song is more better for pocahontas and john smith from pocahontas and rolfe

  • wow, Billy Zane can sing damn good. Great deep voice....rrrrr

  • We have built a bridge of love between two worlds...

  • i hav nva read the the stoy...i shud. n i highly agree. ya kno i wud b less mad if i had Smith

  • @spagia1 Actually I was talking about the sequel, but it's okay, thanks anyway.

    :)

  • @Swaggaboo92, I know right! I used to get so pissed at the end! I was "NO!" she should go with Smith! Screw historical accuracy! Although I have to admit this song is beautiful. But now I've just decided (prehaps for the sake of my own sanity) to pretend that it was SMITH and Pocahontas on the boat at the end, and the song is about them. Oh well. All I have to say is, empty promises curstosy of Disney. JK. (sort of)

    :) \:| :(

(I couldn't decide which to sign off with.)

  • wow billy zane can sing. nice

  • Weeeell John Smith didn't seem TOO upset when she rejected his offer to go adventuring.

  • This video is really well made, and I do wish that Pocahontas ended up with John Smith...Disney changed enough of the Pocahontas story in the first movie,so why couldn't they have changed who Pocahontas ended up with?

  • Yeah from 1st movie but song from second movie. I love this song and Billy Zane.

  • is any1 els pissed tht she went to John Ralph and lets Smith in the second movie?

  • @Swaggaboo92 im not pissed at all. they did a good job it. in history Pocahontas marries John Ralph n not Smith. also in history, it never mentions that Pocahontas n Smith ever were lovers but just good friends.

  • @kookylmh Yea but I like Her & John together so much better:/. The other guy just doesnt work. Even if he's who she really married.

  • @kookylmh FUCK OF WITH THE GOOD FRIENDS!!!!!!!!

They loved each other (I don't like that part of history TT_TT) They are ment to be each other, IN THE MOVIE, YOU CAN'T COMPARE THE TRUE LOVE BETWEEN JOHN SMITH AND POCAHONTAS, Than Rolf and Pocahontas, Smith and her are passional, they fight for their love!!, and in the second movie... what??!! THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING OF TRUE LOVE!!!!

WAAA I HATE THE SECOND MOVIE!!!

(Sorry for getting upset hahahaha, Love Disney :P)

  • @piratearicat I will say it would have been nice if Smith and Pocahontas ended together. but i still think they did a good job on the second.

  • @piratearicat

agreed, the second one has some great music but her and john should've stayed together! they messed up history once whats the point of trying to fix it!

  • I know what you mean. I liked John Smith much better but the true story is that she ends up with John Ralph. Sucks. She dies after becoming very ill after living with John Ralph and having a son. I think if she stayed with John Smith she would of been better off. I'm not trying to be mean. Its just really sad.

  • You do know that when Pocahontas met John Smith the was around 12 years old at the time?

  • Yes I knew that.

  • does she end up with John Smith in the second movie?

  • No. She ends up with John Rolfe.

  • Well i saw the movie on disney channel today in danish(of course xD) and suddenly Billy Zanes name up under the name of this song! (I've been a kinda big fan of him d; ) And I changed to english but then the song were over! (always happens to me -.-') So now i found it and realized that Billy is a good singer! :O

  • The song is from Pocahontas 2, right?

  • yep. isn't it great :]

  • The song is very good... I just hate Pocahontas 2 (I love the 1st one).

  • I love this song! Your vid was good too!

  • Aww, I love this song. Such a beautiful message. :)

  • HIHI...i cant imagine how difrente it is to see Telmo Miranda singing "Ela mad in Portugal, and than this one...hahaha

  • diferent...made*

  • Which the disney princess cds was this on?

  • where can i download this song?

  • I didn't realize how good of a singer Billy Zane is! He held his own for sure in this song. :D

How I wish music nowadays was good like this... instead of about drugs, alcohol, sex and money...

    I miss the '90s!!!

  • @25mjs03 I know! Goddamn! Everything you just said! Especially the Billy Zane part XD.

This song is so lovely!! X)♥♥ I loved this even when I was younger. I kept replaying the credits scene.

  • nice hair fat lips!

  • i lvoe the video one thing i hate its the ending of the 2nd one HATE that movie ;___;

  • Where I can get the instrumental/Karaoke??

  • its almost impossible to get because the song isn't actually very popular, cause the film was pretty much a flop!

So, you'd really have to make it yourself xxx

    SOrry xxx

  • i love this song!

  • força telmo monteiro!

  • Uwielbiam to... jest boskie...

  • omg are you guys really argueing over that?

  • I understand the entire history that they teach in school about Pocahahontas and John Smith...there really may have been an attraction between them but no one mentions it. But she married John Rolfe...but Disney's 1st Pocahahontas is so much more magical than the 2nd I wish they would've just made up stuff about John S. and Pocahontas

  • agreed i hate the 2nd one ;_:

  • umm guys disney lied about the romance with john smith he was old enough to be pocahontas father and he thought of her as his daughter they were just close friends he was 20 and she was 12 when they met

  • Actually there is no proof their wasn't a romance! It would have actually been likely that there was, it was common in the Powhatan Tribes to marry young, so Pocahontas could have easily had a romance with John Smith, but Smith would have never wanted to admit it becuae it British society it would have been morally wrong! xx

  • the sequel pisses me right off. it startes with her all like, ooooh john smith, you're dead. and then she has a proper bad rebound and goes off with john rolfe, and then he 'rises from the dead' and she's like, ooooh, i'm confused. and then she just pisses of with john rolfe. bloody annoying. even though they do make john rolfe better looking that john smith. but that defies the point. :@

    rant over (:

  • i know it's really suckish!! but disney had to make her go off john smith becuase it wasn;t historical accurate and they were gonna be sued!! so they had no choice, i know it sucks!!

  • If you want to see a more realistic film based on Pocahontas, John Smith and John Rolfe, then watch The New World with Colin Farrell.. It shows how her and JOhn Smith fall in love and how they go their seperate ways, but how they actually always still loved one another.

  • I like your point

  • But I love this song, and I love POcahontas, probably too much x

  • I like Billy Zane's voice and Judy Kuhn.

  • This song suits John Smith and Pocahontas so much better than it does John Rolfe and Pocahontas. Rolfe is such a tool. But the cheapquel isn't apart of the Walt Disney canon, anyway, so I'm perfectly content with shipping Pocahontas with John Smith :)

  • check out my videos their really good i just posted new dance videos with great music

    and dontforget to comment

    and suscribe thanks:)

  • I love this song!

  • see john rolfe goes better with history but like....u cant ruin a love story!!!

  • This song does suit better with Pocahontas and John Smith

Billy Zane's voice is terrific !

  • they sing really good but billy zane sounds nothing like himself i would have never believed that was him if i hadn't read it. lol

  • nice vid:D

    i prefer john rolfe ._.

  • That was great! I never liked pocahontas 2 John Smith n Pocahontas are perfect together. if u do happen to have the music file...could i get it too!

  • i so AGREEE..

doesnt it upset you how disney

fucked up by making a second movie?

well i just remember the song called

"if i never knew you" with shanice and jon secada and i mean it doesnt mean shit with this stupid movie..

well i pretend that there's only a first movie haha ;)

  • totaly!!!

  • what TheaterRaven asked....i'd appreciate that too

  • ohh i agree with you two :)

    that'll be really nice

  • Great video.

Do you have the song as a sound file? Could you send it to me? I'd really appreciate it.

  • That was a great video I loved it! And to me its the way Pocahontas and John Smith should be, toghter! I know it did'nt happen in real life. But I've always liked John Smith better than John Rolfe. Its' just my oppion, we can always dream can't we? That's why I like fan fiction and this place because you can make your own story about Pocahontas and Smith being back toghter. Its' just only ficton right?

  • i never knew billy zane the actor who played hockly in the titanic sang this song though he was a jerk in that movie he has good voice

  • Woah....the guy who played Cal was John Rolfe?! Woah...I had no idea he could sing...

  • I just realized this....

  • what whos Cal?

  • He's the dude from Titanic who played Rose's fiancee. He was a total bastard in that movie.

  • oh Billy Zane!!!

  • I really do preferr Smith over Rolfe, but history can't be changed. But all the same, I never thought that Billy Zane had such a beautiful singing voice. I mean it's beautiful enough that Mel Gibson sang in the first one, but Billy. . . I never would've guessed it when I first saw the second movie years ago.

  • wow... you're right about Billy Zane's voice. It sounds so different from his original speaking voice as John Rolfe in the film... but still so beautiful! This a great video, but I also agree with you... I do kinda prefer Smith from Rolfe as well, although I realise he and Pocahontas were never meant to be... that's history!

  • I feel kinda bad for John Smith that Pocahontas married John Rolfe instead of him. oh well, can't change history.

    really nice vid!

  • i just love billy zane's voice

  • really nice job on the video

  • This is such beautifully made and well done. This song goes with the movie. Well done, you have done well.

  • Well done.

  • gr8 vid i loved it! do you know how u can get dis song coz i've been tryin 2 get it 4 ages n i can't find it i wud b eternally grateful if u ad ny suggestions!

  • limewire

  • Love this song. Nice video girl. Really impressed

  • Thx!!!

  • What a nice Disney video clip. :)

  • thx!!!

  • Awesome vid girl, i'm impressed!
