  • Awesome! Great review and cant wait for win 8 tab

  • I like your home vids the best JKK

  • Excellent information man :)

  • To bring the login screen, you can also double click

  • With Windows SDK package you can make your own tiles for the metro Ui

  • MS will improve multiple monitor capabilities in the beta release. At BUILD, they demonstrated how taskbar icons will only appear on the screen where the application is.

  • What a nightmare of an UI. There are 2 distinct OS UI , and have not seamlessly integrated metro UI apps and legacy Windows apps. Stupid. Agree with you totally. I'll go with OSX lion.

  • Really nice video, thanks for all the details. Keep up the great work :)

  • It's windows. How many ways to navigate are there? ...

  • @DrachaMladjen Nothing wrong with your english.. I asked yesterday about these restrictions and they said they will stay.. @BuildWindows8 on twitter said: " @jkkmobile Keep in mind..run rate of first generation netbooks at 1024x600 diminished "significantly" as 1366x768 notebooks arrived. "

  • @jkkmobile

Minimum of 1366 x 768 resolution for the best Windows 8 experience. 1024 x 768 will be the absolute minimum for the new UI fanciness and 1024 x 600 will let you run Windows 8 in the classic desktop mode.

  • @DrachaMladjen if your resolution is under 1366 x 768 it won't work :( MS has made stupid restrictions there.. Metro apps need at least 1024 x 768 to work at all!!??

  • 1024x768 is a shit resolution good for you Microsoft

  • @jkkmobile if you switch display panning off in Windows 7 you get 1024x768 resolution not sure if this option will be in the registry in Windows 8

  • @HGEMAIL I trust there will be plenty of hacks for this in future.. lets just hope MS drops these restrictions..

  • Hi JKK, we found that if you connect an external display, launch the Metro app, and go back to the tablet display you'll be able to use the apps!

It seems that they just check that the res is bigger than 1024x600 when the app is launched, but the apps can work also in that resolution

  • @Notebookitalia cool, thanks! I was thinking that too but could test as i dont have any mini hdmi cables around...

  • Whats ur both devices Specs??

  • @TheShawaal tablet ( hanvon bc10 )has 1.3 ghz celeron and laptop ( thinkpad z60m ) has 2Ghz pentium with fast SSD.. both have 2GB ram

  • Looks good, going to install it on the Hanvon over the weekend and have some fun

  • @HGEMAIL hope you understood that metro apps wont work on it... needs 1024 x 768 at minimum..

  • How come you have Windows 8 ?!? You a tester ? Or you a pirate ?...

  • @bigsteamfan it is developer preview.. u can download it from microsoft

  • @jkkmobile Well, you can download it if you are a developer, or have a dev account, I suppose... Or can anyone do it ? Since it's a "developer" preview..

  • @bigsteamfan nope, anyone can download and install it.. just google it..

  • This sucks! That interface is a nightmare. I'll be staying with Windows 7 and Linux Mint 9, I think. :) JC

  • @BadEditPro >Linux Mint 9

    Oh why man why?

  • @supercoolguyT Just for fun. :) JC

  • I used those metro Apps without any problem..

  • That start menu is an ugly mess with those tiles in my opinion. We will have to wait and see how it pans out. thanks jkk for the in depth review.

  • Hanvon BC10 .. search youtube to c my review of it..

  • What tablet are you running Windows 8 on?
