I LOVE 'er. She is so hard working - they all are. I think she's amazing. The most hard working monarch in history - you just have to look at her daily schedule on the government website. She never stops - she has worked 57 years 329 days so far. And not slowing down. The Queen reminds me of my 80 year old godmother, when she gets crabby and annoyed that things are just not going her way. Plus, she does not show much sensitivity when the young girl gives her flowers. "Oh, flowers from the peasant girl".

The Queen said thankyou to the little girl for the flowers, that's all anyone would say. For an 83 year old woman, and as the most powerful woman/person on earth, she does an amazing job! Even small things like visiting schools, rest homes etc she is the servant of her people. That's why she is loved around the world, she thinks of others before herself. She does a lot for the commonwealth which would be too much for most, but not Queen Lizzie!

Wrong! The Queen's parents were British. Both sets of grandparents were also British by birth. Her paternal great grandfather was British too - his wife was Danish. His mother Victoria, was British born but married a German prince. You have to go back to George II to find a British monarch not born on British soil! This nonsense about being German really is silly if you consider where the Anglo-Saxons originated from ;)

Actually the Monarchy is cheaper to run many presidencies and for that you get a good Head of State. The Treasury also gets the benefit of the Crown Estates - which the Queen would be in her right to demand back of we got shot of her.
