It IS a country song in the English skiffle/country tradition, anyway, never heard of The Mooks before but excellent cover. If any of you guys read this, you might want to look for alternate versions of the fab four playing this where Ringo played a few interesting tom riffs, you might be able to find one they did live in Manchester NH in their 1964 tour the tom was very pronounced in that version. If you did that you might try miking and amplifying the tom because it sounds so cool.
I closed my eyes and could swear this was a live BBC recording! Awesome job. I saw Beatlemania in Hamilton and Toronto Ontario 6 times. This was great!
@danielthomas72 On the original studio version, I think John overdubbed himself on the verses, singing both the high and low parts. On the bridge, Paul seems to be doing the high part.
NOW THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT. It was already a very good cover even before homeboy *nailed* the solo (it was clear he was also quite familiar with its underlying influences). BIG props all around for this one!
"Homeboy" is Ira Siegel, one of America's all-time top session guitarists. Ira has played on probably 300 albums, countless advertisements, Broadway shows, movie scores.....he's even played for the President. You won't find a more competent guitarist.
Yeah -- it shows. Given the sensitivity and apparent ease with which he channeled that country-shuffle feel, I'd have been far more surprised if he were, say, a plumber by day!
Are the rest of the guys also musicians "in real life"?
"Are the rest of the guys also musicians "in real life"?"
You said it Mikey...the bassist is Lenie Colacino, who portrayed Paul McCartney in the original "Beatlemania" show on Broadway, and still works every so often in Beatles tribute bands. The guitarist with glasses is Joe Pecorino who also appeared in the original "Beatlemania" on Broadway, portraying John Lennon. The guitarist on the end is John Fotiadis, an extremely talented songwriter/producer.
really good!!! The vocal on this was very good!!! The instruments were also very goos and the style in your voices is very simaler to the Record!!! I thought this was good!!!
bravo! bravo! i used to overdubmyself doing the vocals using an old tape recorder... one pass the 1st voice and main guitar, second pass, second voice and riffing guitar... wow... nice performance guys!
This is FANTASTIC!!! BravissimI! Vote 10!

probably the most difficult song of the beatles to blend and get the subtle changes in the tones right.. Nice job guys!

Having played in a Beatles tribute show I can speak from experience when I say, these vocals are brilliant!!!
Paul's part is incredibly high throughout ( a tough part to sing), and the guy doing John does his 'tone' extremely authentically. 5 stars chaps!!
