I got some photo's of the exact same spot after the storm, the trees had been literally sand blasted, no leaves, no bark. The weather phenomenon is called a down slope rotor, it happens when a strong wind blows down the lee side of a steep hill.

Quite spectacular.

I moved to melbourne about 2 weeks before that storm

My brothers roof got ripped off

Gutted I missed it
