@yOURCHRIST The truck mostly was only idling in the video. Plus the parking lot is paved so the shoes are off the plow and the cutting edge is down against the concrete.
ok so all these videos of cummins trucks w plows makes me n my 99 cummins dually auto w 3;55 gears and 4 " straight exhaust to dual 6" stacks w an EDGE juice w Attitude wonder what can I do to make more power without pullin motor out n also spending like wayyyy to o much
@007garok Well I think you spent wayy to much and got a edge I have a 98 2500 4x4 5 speed with 3.55 with a smarty and a deoblo sport power puck stacked and 220 hp injectors anda SB clutch .running the stock turbo and 4 inch with 4inch stacks , I get 17 around town, 27 hyw empty and 14 pulling a 28 ft steel horse trailer and with the same tune on the bax its 401hp at the rear wheels
FYI when you add all the hp #'s up on the goodies you buy your total hp does not equal that.. oh and dyno's don't do crank HP, it's rear wheel horse power.. Don't even make up some bullshit and say you pulled the engine and put it on an engine dyno.. You'd be a complete dumbass if you did. BTW my cummins is makin 678hp/1392tq.. Single turbo's single cp3.. You prolly don't know what a cp3 is hahahaha
@Deepinher01 Post a video and I'll believe it. Your ignorance in stating that 530 RWHP is not near 600 at the crank and that somehow it takes "Stacked" tunes to equal 600 hp is so laughable its sad. Oh and yes I know what a CP3 is.... that would be "Complete Prick 3" and that would be you.... Still LMHO
I'm gonna go ahead and say 600hp is not even close.. 1st off it takes a 64mm turbo and 40-50% over stock injectors and a stacked tune. 1 for duration and timing the other for rail pressure. That being said it looks and sounds like a stock truck with an exhaust and intake, possibly a towing tune. But son your way off on 600hp to the crank that would equal 540hp @ the wheels. If it's an 03-04 no way possible, 04.5-05 maybe.. But highly doubt it.
@Deepinher01 I'm so glad you got that off your chest. Must be wonderful to have all that knowledge stored away in that little pin head of yours. Also I admire your ability to tell at a glance what a truck's HP #s are without even being there at the dyno pull. It's especially incredible to have that gift when you don't even have a truck of your own. But then again by the looks of your channel comments, it's obvious that you've been enligtening others about their trucks.. Keep it up LMHO
@ramdslpwr arond 300. sounds more like a dakota you have never been arond 500 plus hp. when you rev it load free i see very little smoke and no boost to speak of you have no clue .my vp truck plows for real,makes525rwhp and gets 22 empty and 15 16 plowing and not in your week parkin lots im talkin steep grade and deep snow.and when you here it you know its every bit of 500 and 1000 plus ft lbs oftourqe dont make things up its lame like your week truck
@kobs7964 No. The plastic air dam under the bumper is tight against the top of the plow mount but it works fine and helps to hide the plow mount a bit
smokindodge is right smoke does not equal power but two things the chances of this dodge having the 600 he says he has is no and if he would have the power to this truck like he says he does than he has spent his time in the shop and on the dyno and with his motor to find out what his motor needs to perform for his needs with his power so by the looks of the snow plow this is his daily driver and he wouldent but the two together 600 and plow dosent weight out good
make you wonder why snowplow packages were never sold with diesel trucks....aside from cooking the tranny (lack of air to cooler) and diesel engine already sitting ontop a 2500 frame the axle itself is only capable of handling so much weight before you run into problems. hard on knuckles
Of course you can get the Snowplow Prep pkg on a Dodge diesel. There was a short period years ago when u couldn't but the trucks are more capable today ... most components anyway. Axle u-joints and ball joints are still the weakest links ... a cooked tranny is usually the result of a poor operator and lack of maintanence. The frame and axle are the least of the worries on todays Dodge and the frontends are identical on the 2500 and 3500. You are right though, that Cummins is a heavy sob!
frint ends are identical except for the springs, huge difference in ride quality there. also load capability. a cooked tranny is the result of poor airflow to the coolers. todays dodge yes, but the frame under that truck is of a different generation of a brand new dodge (current day and time). all im saying if a few short years ago you COULD NOT get a snowplow package with a diesel equipped truck, their front axle and suspension couldnt handle the extra load reliably.
The front springs are identical in the 3rd Gen Dodges ... check it out ... I own a 2006 & I have. My truck runs at the same temp whether there is a plow hanging off the front or not ... it is irrellevant. A 2nd Gen is nearly a decade old now ... the truck in this vid is a 3rd Gen so it has the cold formed frame ... much stronger than 2nd Gen Ram. Many changes since then. Still today, axle u-joints and ball joints require continual replacement but the tranny cooling is dialed and a non-factor.
sorry but the guy is actually doing it right,,,most plows (2008 and later have "lift stops" installed to prevent the undercarriage from carrying the entire weight of the truck.According to most research , 80% of all damage to plow and truck are a result of snow "stacking".
smoke does not equal power. A perfectly tuned diesel engine would not make any smoke, but that is hard to accomplish in the real world. There have been guys make 800+ HP without any smoke
Who needs plow lights with 4 Daylighters over the cab? The truck lights show over the V plow and the overhead lights give all the light you need for night time plowing
Cheap HP = broken parts. Yeah you can do more then that with less money but you'll break stuff all the time. That truck has over 270,000 miles on it. It is a daily driver and tows regularly as well as plow. My goal was not just high HP but longevity as well. There's lots of oil field kids with tons of money that get a new truck every 3 years and proceed to tune it up till it breaks. Another thing is I run pure #2. Most guys over 500 HP are running NOS or Water Meth.
nice video i used to use my 96 GMC suburban 7.4L 454 for doing snow plowing it worked great... had more than enough power... never had any traction problems and would plow through anything!! changed over to using kubota tractors with blowers and blades on them because im either in a HUGE parking lots or small residential areas... (they hate having their driveways done with blades)
Your missing the point. For one thing the RPMs never went above 1200. Thats barely over an idle. Something a jeep or any gas powered truck couldn't do. Also this was only a small snowfall. I needed a video for a project I had, showing advertisement stategy and this was all the snow we had at the time. This wasn't about super plowing so much as it was about a video project I needed.
Mainly for the video, altho the snow wasn't as deep as usual so I never really had to gun the truck. That's the beauty of a diesel, most of the time I barely run above idle. Even with 12" of snow. Now the yearly dumps of 24" or more are differant. I wanted to plow a big snow fall for video but this was the only snowfall we had while I had a secondary video guy around. Mabee I'll catch a big dump this year and video it.
10-4. I'm use to plowing with an old 79 1/2 ton Chevy so it's a bit different. When we'd get 2 or 3 feet in a storm it took a bit of momentum to keep pushing it to the bank.
hah until the ford breaks down... Duramax is the way to go. Last year we had 7 guys go out, and the only 3 trucks that made it back at the end of the day were the duramax's. The 2 powerjokes and 2 cummins all broke...
