I've been playing drums for 30 years now and I have to say I wish I had his chops at 12. He is much older now and he is just getting better with age. He too is learning as I did that less is more, when you are young you like to cram as many beats into a measure as possible. With age you realize that you don't need to do that, save it for the solos. He has great syncopation and control of his limbs. He is one of the top drummers today in my opinion. Music is art, respect what others like.
