It is really interesting how this freeway plows over or under anything that happens to be in its way. This is very much the way the interstates run in the Northeast between DC and Boston. If something gets in the way,(like a low-income neighborhood or ghetto) just build an overpass or a tunnel to speed traffic quickly past. -Do you think they would build a bypass or an elevated freeway over Beverly Hills or Scarsdale?

If your poor and they build a highway through your neighborhood, its even more of a reason to succeed in life so shit like this doesnt happen to you.

Most of the land for the 'freeway with tolls' was allocated land before it was built. Unlike many other parts of the world, Victoria isn't as built up and over 40 - 50 years ago many 'freeways' where placed in the planning allocation and can still be found on the maps today so that they can not be built on.. (there is one on the books from Lillydale to Vermont which would then connect to this 'Freeway with tolls' .

cool video, shame about eastlink being CRAP, haha.

going from glen waverley to ringwood saves about 5mins transport time if you take eastlink as opposed to burwood highway and springvale road, though in peak time it can save almost half an hour, which is pretty damned impressive, bringing it almost on par with the south-eastern freeway before they expanded the princes highway.

Nice aerial work but who cares whether it's tolled. What you spend on tolls, you save on travel time, fuel efficiency and wear and tear on your vehicle! I like your video anyway.

Bracks got voted in like any other poli' to have the job of representing & delivering what the victorians wanted with the very taxes the Victorian people raised.

Sooo we needed an Eastlink, so he got us one (about time too).. so with OUR hard earned taxes he get's it built for US using OUR money for OUR much needed road.

Bracks says here you go, it's yours now (no more expenses to pay) - and nor should WE.. We paid for the damn thing !

But apparently, Bracks the $ thief thought otherwise

We've already got a Western Ring Road Freeway in Melbourne that was built toll free by Jeff Kennett. And yet when it is time to build an Eastern Ring Road (this road) and Labor is in power, we get tolls.
