Hmmm alot to take in. What caught my interest was the recent release of possible ties between C8 and female reproductive issues..and high cholesterol levels! My 9yr old and some of her little friends have high cholesterol already! My daughter is not overweight. She eats junk but I prepare healthy meals as well. I have had female reproductive problems for most of my adult life.(I am 28)I also have high cholesterol. I raised in Lubeck..my daughter has also been raised here 2. C8 patially to blame?
The orange signs are to keep people and boats away from the intakes....
And I noticed that every clip starts with "This is something that I heard, but I havn't checked my facts." I mean don't get me wrong, it's great that you're standing up for the people here, but please check your facts before making accusations.
Also, if your going to attack a plant about health issues in the area, look at the other plants in the area also...
Yes, I did get my clarification on the signs along the river in front of the plant, but that still doesn't explain all the dead fish floating in front of the plant. These statements were not given as accusations but rather to get people to think and I did make sure that everyone knew I had not done all my fact checking yet. I just happened to be home visiting my sister and decided to do something about this and get it on the net to further raise awareness.
The bridge was part of the Corridor D Project, which was funded and built by the State of WV.
And the part of the island that the bridge is over is closed to the public.
DuPont does not own Blenerhasset Island, it is privately owned, and they don't have wells on it. The Bridge has nothing to do with the Island, they only way to reach the island is by boat.
And as for things being put into the air, Steam maybe? If you wanna talk about things being put into the air, go talk to Eremet.
DuPont does own the island. They lease part of it to the State of West Virginia for recreational use around the historic Blennerhassette Mansion. They lease it for a penny a year. They do have wells on it. They own boats that they take to the island to take water samples from these wells. River water is pumped throughout the plant to cool equipment then returned to the river. Water that is used in process is sent to a bio-pond facility for filtration and proper disposal.
I'm pretty sure those signs you were talking about are where the water intake is or where the pumps are that pull water out of the river and take to the plant. The signs are so people will stay away from it. I have seen a lot dead fish along that area though. It is pretty curious as to why they would be dying right there.
I've noticed lately if you go to the point park in Parkersburg and go to the wall area where the Ohio and Kanawha rivers meet on an overcast day you will see a line of slop running on top of the water down the Ohio. I've noticed it several times. Might be something to look into and put into a third part if you decide to do one.
I've actually had respiratory problems for years and I'm only 21. I'm sure the respiratory problems are related to the pollution. My family members that work near DuPont, mainly the ones in the 30-50 year old range, have either had cancer once maybe twice or died from cancer or have had children with mental disabilities or have "lost" children before they were born. There is a lot of truth in this video.
i know about Dupont and other chemical companies in the Kanawha valley and how they treat the communities, (usually poor, rural, and/or black populations,) where they purposely site their plants. (Like in Lousiana) because they know that the people like you who'll notice, or do anything about it, are few and far between.
Have you had any reply from Morgan Spurlock or any ackowledgement that he has seen this video? I can't imagine anyone better to send this video to. I do wish you luck with your mission.
I have not heard anything from Morgan yet. I'm thinking Michael Moore would also be a good one to cover this story but I wanted to give Morgan first shot at it since it's his hometown. I've been in touch with his staff, but no word from him yet. Surely if he sees it, he will respond.
Hey, Have you had any success with your mission? Let me know if I can help as this type tragedy is done all over the world by big chemical industries. I really done believe they mean for health problems to occur in people, as they don't have time for such thoughts. Its the big bucks that clowds their view.
To the contrary, the evidence demonstrates that they are aware of what their contamination is doing to the population as well as the environment. Their greed is what makes them sweep the facts under the carpet.
Have you spoken with Dupont on what strategies that they have, or are planning to implement to remedy this travesty? Something needs to be done for the publics sake, then publicize your findings in the papers.
If I can help you from afar, please let me know. It seems that huge chemical plants should be able to come up with some sort of filtering mechanism so that toxic vapors would disipate, dissolve, so not to spread to surrounding areas, causing harm. God help you, your family, and God, especially help all those men, and women who work closely at Dupont. They need to spend some of that money to devise CHANGE. Karena321
I love the taste of c8 MMMMMMMMMM GOOOOOOOOOD! Been drinking it all my life and live a few min away from dupont. Yes I am part of the ongoing test group
Sorry you and your family have gone through so much. I visited Parkersburg many times in the 70's while attending school in Ohio, and thought it was a lovely town.
